The Phillips family owns this business. They are honest, professional and very reliable. I reviewed auction contracts from several area auction companies. The contract from Powell Auction was the only one that I thought was fair to both them and me. I didn't feel like they were sticking me with extra expenses; the commission that they receive from the sale covers everything you need. Other auction companies want a commission plus they want you pay for other expenses. One company wanted the commission and also wanted me to pay for the advertising and to keep the property mowed and tended until sale. Powell Auction did all that for me. Once I handed over property for them to sell - where it was a house or personal property - they have taken very good care of the property. They have cleaned up the property before the sale, provided terrific advertising and worked with me every step of the way to get me the best price for my items. They have sold boats, cars, furniture, power tools, collectibles and houses for me. Every time they have gotten at least the minimum that I wanted for the items - usually getting more than I expected. If you have something - anything - that you want sold in a hurry, but for a good price, you should talk to these people. You will not be disappointed. They will be very honest with you about what your expectations should be for the sale.
