They did a fabulous job on my ceiling but did a horrible job on the fence.

I had personally installed a replacement set of exterior french doors in the back of my house, and the top of the doors were catching badly when trying to close them. To get the doors in alignment, I attempted many unsuccessful things over a couple of weeks, including placing lag screws in the top corners to pull the top of the frame out so the doors would clear each other. Did not end well, as I cracked the frame. I finally threw in the towel and called Mr. Handyman to make the door right, to fix my botched installation. I assumed they would have to remove the entire door set, possibly repair the frame and re-level the base, and then reinstall. I had an even deeper concern that the doors wouldn't be salvageable due to the cracked frame. It took about a week and a half to get on their schedule, which was just fine. The initial scheduling was handled by a national answering service. I received a follow up call from the local office a few days before the date of the scheduled repair and was told to expect a call the morning of to have a more precise time to expect the technician (as opposed to the general 4-hour window I had already received). I didn't receive the morning call and followed up myself, though this was honestly not a big deal because the phone is almost ALWAYS answered within two rings. The owners were very accessible and attentive to all of my concerns, whether it was me trying to time leaving work to meet the technician or technical questions I had about the process. I then received several calls from both Allen the owner and Frank the technician letting me know exactly when to expect him. Frank arrived on the dot and assessed the door situation, talking with me and not at me. By that I mean he talked like we were on the same team, not like I was the stupid homeowner and he was the know-it-all professional as is too often the case with other service "professionals." He found the issue with the frame independently and we both agreed that the doors would likely need to come out and be reinstalled. However, he kept looking at it, checking all the different points where I had originally attached the frame to the house. He said, "let me try something first." He retrieved an impact driver from his truck, removed a screw I had placed through one of the hinges, and drove a new screw with some serious force. I think he may have put one in each side, but regardless, the doors were in perfect alignment at the top and closing freely! He even added the weather stripping pieces I had yet to install and talked me through other adjustments I could make on my own. End result, he fixed my doors without ever taking them out, and because he was able to do so in less than a half an hour, I was only charged for the basic service call and not any labor costs (plus I had an Angie's List coupon!). He could have easily made the project much bigger and charged several hundred dollars more...heck, I had even admitted to probably needing it on the front end...but he instead fixed my problem in the fastest, most cost efficient manner while being friendly and professional the entire time. Will be at the top of my list for the next "over my head" project. Highly recommend this company.

Having moved to the Knoxville area a little over a year ago, we don't know who to call on many things, so, first of all, thank you for Angie's List! We were impressed with "Mr. Handyman" from the first phone call. We explained what we wanted done and were told they could take care of all our needs. We were told their price up front and agreed with it. We were given a date and time they would be out to our home and given the name of the person who would be coming. The day before they were due to come out, we received a call reminding us of our appointment and told the person that was suppose to come out was not available due to medical reasons, however, they would be sending two people out to make sure our needs were taken care of. The morning of our appointment, they called again to let us know they were on their way. Having worked with the public throughout many years of employment, working with "Mr. Handyman" was a breath of fresh air! They were professional, helpful, and extremely friendly. They come out, get the job done, and make sure you are satisfied before leaving. We will definitely use "Mr. Handyman" again when needed. We'll also recommend them to any of our family and friends. Matter of fact, we already have! Thank you!

He did an alright job. I thought he was a little too quick. He could have taken 15 more minutes and done a little bit better job, but it was okay.

I made the appointment knowing I needed some work done. They were on time, got right to work and friendly. We are happy with the job and we will use them again!

They were quick to respond. They were accurate with their estimation. They actually came in below the estimation and I was really impressed with them. They were on time which was uncommon when I get a lot of independent contractors. It was about 4 hours work. I would use them again in the future.

We needed 2 bookshelves hooked into the wall and shelving put up in my daughter's room. We also needed a iron picture hung up. The handyman arrived, looked at the job and gave me a reasonable rate. He was very efficient, getting the job done within a few hours. We will definitely use them again.

I noticed a piece of my wood siding had fallen off our chimney. I called Allen @ Mr Handyman and asked for an estimate. He and his staff were quick to come out and give me an estimate. After attempting to get a few other quotes, I called them back to schedule the work. They scheduled my appointment for a few days out, which was fine. They let us know when they were on their way and showed up on time. The work was done correctly the first time. The cost matched the estimate. Overall, I was very satisfied with their work and would recommend them to other people.

They did the work and it was very good. It was very expensive. I would tell people to shop around, because you can probably find a better price.
