Mencer's Tree Service

He said he would be out and he never showed up. My husband called him twice and he never called back. He said he was doing some work in the neighborhood and they only like to go to one neighborhood at a time and that he would be by after they've finished the other work. But we never heard from them. It was a good quote, we were going to go with it, but nothing was ever done. We are disappointed. We probably won't ever call him again. We can't depend on him. He did give us a really good price, but what difference does it make if he doesn't do it. I need somebody I can depend on.

They climbed the trees and cut several major braches from one so that it was well out of the way of the roof. They did it in a manner that allowed the tree to still look good and provide good shade to the back patio. Similar approach was done on the second tree.

I had previously used Mencer's Tree Service earlier last year when seeking to have a decaying tree removed. I had sought quotes from four different services via their websites; only two responded. It took some time to schedule the tree removal; it was actually done while my wife and I were on vacation. Miles subsequently billed us for the work done and we promptly paid this invoice. At the time, we also requested that his staff remove some additonal tree branches which had fallen off during a prior storm; we arranged these as requested and in addition to the tree removal, they also ground up these branches. At the time, we were most pleased with the service provided. A positive experience led us to contact Mencer's for the stump removal. We were never quite sure if Miles came out to the house to inspect the work to be done. My wife indicated that she thought she had seen a truck drive by slowly, perhaps observing the sites where the stumps were located, but she wasn't sure. As with the tree removal earlier last year, I made a follow-up contact to the office to determine if a quote had been prepared. It was sent out that afternoon, following my phone contact. During the call, I had asked if Miles had found both stumps; I was interested in the response in that another service (who we ultimately chose) had indicated the presence of only one stump. I was assured that both had been sited (I suppose from the street as a "drive-by") and given a cost in excess of $100 ($125 I believe). I examined the "second site" and assured myself that there was no visible stump to be removed. Needless to say, after having to follow-up, and ultimately receiving a quote for something which did not have to be removed (as it wasn't there to begin with), we chose the other provider. They actually spoke with my wife during their on-site visit and provide the quote prior to leaving (along with proof on insurance). Based on a past expereince with them, I belieive Mencer's Tree Service to be a reputable firm. However, the office staff appears slow to respond and during the removal of the tree last year, I made repeated attempts to contact them without sucess. It appears they do good work; response to inquiries and follow-up needs improvment.

Mr. Mencer came to my home the day after I called and gave me an estimate to cut and remove 2 trees and get a large broken limb out of a big tree. On the day the trees were removed, there were about 6 men cutting and chipping wood. They were here for an hour or two, got everything cut down, chipped up the wood, did a great clean up and hauled everything away. The guys that did the work were really nice, worked fast and did a great job. I will use them again.

Very well, once they came. We placed the order and then it was a number of months before the work was actually done. The poor responsive rating is due to a mixup in their office -- they were very busy after a severe city-wide hail storm and we were way down on the list for services. For various reasons, the job order was forgotten or misplaced. Although we called several times, our request did not seem to get on their radar screen. Once we connected with the right people and explained the delay we had experienced, they came within the week and accomplished the work, without damage to the house or other trees, in 1 day. They cut the wood in the right length for the fireplace and they hauled off the brush and limbs unsuitable for burning. Even though they used a very large crane to take down the tree by the house, the yard was in pristine condition after they left. Excellent work, professional employees, proper equipment for the job, and we are no longer in fear that anything will fall on the house.

Mencer's Tree Svc provided an estimate via phone call. Estimated cost far exceeded two other providers. I did not accept this estimate.

They had been working in our neighborhood and I am the President of the neighborhood association, so they have done some work for our association. It is a local tree service company and they provide awfully good work. I think their price is good. I am not real sure about that but they do a good job, and they are prompt.

Miles Mencer had given cost estimates that were significantly less than another tree service from which I had obtained estimates. Miles also gave me some tips on how to fertilize a willow in my front yard that has experienced stress due to fungus and drought in past years. The crew used a bucket lift to cut down the locust and manually cut the pine. They did a fine job and cleaned up well. They came back a few days later and ground the stump of the locust. I was pleased at how nice and deep they ground it. They also ground a small stump of a tree I had removed myself a few years ago at no extra charge. The price was right and I was happy with their efficiency and service. I would definitely call on Mencer's again if I need tree work.

Miles refused to remove our tree for the estimated price unless we released him from being responsible for not harming our playset. the reason stated was that too many weeks had passed many of which he was hired and didn't show up because he was taking care of storm damage. So I am suddenly supposed to release him from liability for an $8000. playset because he was busy doing other jobs during the elapsed time between estimate and removal date. I don't think so. Pretty slimy business practices! no thank you miles mencer!

It’s a local company. They tell me what they are going to do and they did it. I could barely tell that they were there except that for the shaving when they cut the tree. There was no disturbance in the yard. They are not as expensive as the others that I called.

They took them out very efficiently and we could not believe that they took them out as fast as they did. No one got hurt and that was good because they were enormous trees. They asked us if we needed the wood chipped and we did, so they did that and that solved two problems for us. They were great. It was less than we thought that it was going to be. The only problem with them was that it was hard to communicate with them because we called and had to leave a message with answering service and it took a while to get a response. That is the only thing that we would say was not good, but other than that they were great. We will use them again and in fact we need to use them.

The price that I paid was more than $2500 and this was in response to storm damage. I have had a quick response from them. Their pricing is competitive. I will use them again and I have used them several times.

They are good and probably the best in the area. Their estimate was terribly high. They did not charge me anything for the estimate. They are very busy and I had to call them a second time for it. They are very professional. I would use them again in the future.

Miles came out, and was punctual. His was one of several tree service companies we have had come out and give us an estimate on the services. He was very matter-of-fact and knowledgeable, and gave me the best estimate, including breaking the estimate down into parts so we would know what the cost was should we choose to do the stump grinding part ourselves. He didn't seem to over-inflate or make it seem like a bigger job than it was, and gave us the best estimate. I plan to call him back when we plan to do the removal, and book him, will update based on services rendered. They removed the tree and stacked the wood while we were away, came home and it was down. They returned a week or so later to grind the stump, as we were undecided on whether or not to do it ourselves...turns out, to rent a stump grinder wasn't that much cheaper than what I was quoted, so we just had them do the stump too. They did a great job, cleaned up everything, even left a bit of the ground stump for us to put on the garden as mulch. We were very pleased with the service.

We use them after the hailstorm. They removed and cut down seven trees. We chose them after seeing them on Angie-lists. I give them an A grade on everything! We've used them more than once. And plan to use them again in the spring.

They did a really good job. The pricing of the job that they performed was great. They came well under everybody I had quotes from, maybe three or four hundred less than other people. I think they were very reasonable. I am happy with the job they performed. They were very efficient. They had a crew that came out and they were great. They cleaned up nicely. They came before the date that I was expecting them and for me that was great. I would use this provider again in the future.

I called Angie's List and got their name. One thing that I really liked about them was that they were extremely efficient and they basically left no footprint. If you didn't know the tree was gone, you wouldn't know the tree was here. The only thing that I would say is that as far as getting back to the customer in a timely fashion, they hadn't. The person in the office had an illness in the family and she was out of work for a little bit of time. They dropped the ball in that regard. Then when I got back to them and the guy came and he took care of what had to be taken care of, I guess they were in and out very quickly and they did a nice job.

We have been quite happy with them. They are good. The job went fine. It is a company we like to do business with. They are very professional and good.

The company responded to my first call and came by to estimate the costs of removing trees. This was to happen in "one to two weeks". Due to a number of factors the work was delayed, however when Miles Mencer got started, the work was done extremely professionally as contracted and the price was excellent. I will definitely use Mencer's Tree Service for any future jobs. Great buy!

The company never answers phone calls. I asked to be called in the morning as I sleep in the afternoon because of my work schedule. So I would call in the morning and the office manager would call me back a few days later in the afternoon. I never actually got to speak to her because she would only communicate around 4pm. Finally through leaving messages only she said that they would come out in a week or so. I called back to let her know that I sleep in the afternoons and needed them to come in the mornings. She left a message that they would come in the morning. I waited for 3 weeks and they never showed up. I have called everyday for 3 days and never heard back. This is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. If you value your sanity do not call Mencer's Tree Service.

They were good. They had the best price. I would use them again in the future.

I tried using Mencer's in July. I was fine with the quote and no one came out so I called them 3 times and no one called back then I emailed them and no one responded. I then moved on to another company a month later and then they finally got back to me through email. I responded with what I went through and they just responded with an attitude of sorry for the bad customer service have a good day.
