Initial contact was positive. Survey appointment scheduled within a week. Job survey was efficient demonstrating thorough technical knowledge of our crawl space problem. ABSOLUTELY NO HIGH PRESSURE SALES or FEAR TACTICS. A clear and precise plan was presented. Job scheduling was prompt as desired. Payment options were clear and adequate. Six months same as cash was ideal for our situation. The Crew was surprisingly young. It was refreshing to experience the efficiency and skill used to complete the job in TWO DAYS using a Foreman and two other workers. A couple of return trips were required to tweak the system successfully, all work completed within two weeks. There was NO PRESSURE pushing for us to sign and return paperwork to the Head Office for payment. As soon as work was completed we signed our paperwork gladly. It is a WIN-WIN with MASTER DRY

The estimate was done on time and was thorough. The cost was in line with other quotes but the Masterdry reputation and Angie's list reviews were the deciding factors in using them. The work was done on time, as scheduled. The workers arrived on time, were professional and courteous. They did not destroy my back yard and with the exception of a little dirt in the yard you would not have known any work was completed. They were super and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We were satisfied with the work performed. We did have to have an exterior drain relocated, the first location caused water not to drain properly. Master Dry relocated the drain. It was valuable when we sold our home to have the Master Dry guarantee, our real estate agent said potential buyers would be very reassured with the remediation of any water issue. It was just so painfully expensive.

I met with a friendly and professional (I call it friendly professionalism...VERY important to me!) Josh Sulfridge who spent a couple of hours explaining the different processes and corresponding prices, and who showed me several options on how to best take care of my foundation problems in the most efficient, least expensive manner. He was never pushy and patiently answered all the questions I had. The job was set to take two days, which it did. The crew arrived promptly each day and worked quickly and efficiently. On the first day, the plan was to dig the trenches for the push piers and then get started on placing them; the crew started as planned. But then it began to rain heavily and they had to stop work on the outside. Instead, they moved to the inside to work on (and finish!) installing the power braces. I didn't realize that they had finished on the inside until they came to tell me before leaving for the day. It may sound silly, but I was very impressed with their ability to "change plans" as needed and according to weather conditions instead of leaving early because what was "supposed to be worked on" that day could not be done. Because it had rained, the clay made a mess on the concrete floor in the workshop, and I thought, Oh boy! This is going to be a pain to clean up, but when we did the walk through after everything was finished, the floor had been cleaned spotless. It made me very happy! In fact, the whole clean up was impressive! I was a little worried when I saw the big pile of earth and the holes that had been dug out for the piers, but when all was finished, the holes had been filled, the earth pounded down and the area seeded with grass and covered with hay. The drench train was installed and here too the concrete patio that had been jackhammered, was fixed, smoothed over and level around the drain. I also checked on the work throughout the two days, and each time the foreman patiently answered any questions I had....I do ask a lot of questions and it is important to me not to be brushed off. From the very first call to signing off on a job done excellently, everything was dealt with extremely professionally, efficiently and completely satisfactory.

Scott Frazier, my Master Dry sales representative was very thorough in his explanation of what was needed, why it was needed, and how it would be accomplished. He patiently answered all my questions, then the team delivered exactly as Scott had promised. I went under the house to inspect the completed work and it was exactly as Scott had described. Although this was an expensive project, I checked with another waterproofing specialists and their quote was substantially higher and with substantially less service. Since the project was completed, I have had follow-up contact with Master Dry, including a phonecall from the president of the Knoxville franchise, who did my job. This Master Dry team is professional in every respect-start-to-finish: from the first contact with their sales representative until the bill was completely paid. And their customer service is the best I have ever encountered. I highly commend Master Dry, and will enthusastically recommend them to friends, neighbors, and family who may need their service.

From the very first meeting with Steve Price at my home to the installers (Michael or Martin, can't remember and Raul) everyone was top notch excellent! I was so pleased with the professionalism and information they provided. Steve answered all of our questions and gave us in depth information about everything. We watched a short video on how the system works and once the men were installing it, I knew what I was looking at when I saw their work. That made me feel better because I had an idea of what was going on and how it was put together. I was ABSOLUTELY impressed with everyone involved and would use them again and recommend them to anyone with this sort of problem. I am a very happy customer with the work and also the business side of the staff. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. I am not one to go out of my way to write reviews but I felt they needed the positive feedback to add with the already stellar reputation they have. Thank you Master Dry!

The gentleman from Master Dry was on time, professional & courteous. We did have to re-schedule the initial appointment due to inclement weather (ie. snow) which was to be expected. He gave a thorough inspection of the foundation, found & isolated the source of the moisture problem we had in the basement, and gave us an estimate for repairs. The estimate did include a lifetime guarantee, but the cost ($5,400) was still higher than we expected. If we do have the repairs done we will defiantly use Master Dry, we will have to save up for it though.

The problem we have with our basement consists of the walls being pushed to the inside from the pressure from the water around the outside of the basement walls. The reason for that is lack of drainage around the house. There is not a way to stop water from coming through walls after they have been damaged short of pouring new walls and installing more drain lines around the outside which would still have water a way to come in. The system they put in is only way to deal with a water problem on the scale we have which takes the water that comes in and pumps it back out away from the house. Our house has never been this dry and it has been 3 years with no water problems. The PowerBrace System will put our walls back to a safe and steady state. The MasterDry people did a really good job and I would tell anyone with basement problems to call MasterDry and let them see what they can do!!!
Description of Work: Installed a drain line around the base of the walls in our basement. We also had to have our foundation repaired which they did by installing their PowerBrace System.

The service was excellent and I have no complaints. When we originally installed all of this they said it did not need a humidifier but a few weeks later we found moisture down there. They responded quickly. They then realized the a/c ducts were sweating because the humidity and said I needed a dehumidifier. I was frustrated but they said it was needed because of the abnormal wetness and humidity. They resolved the problem and I was pleased. When they originally did the work it took no more than two days. They were fast and efficient. The price was competitive. We contacted one other company and had neighbors who had similar work done. They were a couple of few hundred dollars less than another company. Their people are extremely polite, helpful and informative.
Description of Work: They completely fixed the crawl space. I had some water seepage in there that could have caused mold. They came in and tore out all the insulation that was in there. They put in a mold inhibitor and sprayed it. They came after that was dry to paint. They did a little landscape to get better grain, they put new drainage, the new membrane, and installed two pumps so if water comes in, it is directed to the pumps and is pumped out. They also sealed up all the vents and installed a dehumidifier to ensure the crawl space is completely dry.

Excellent service. Punctual. Said they would be here at 8AM and they were here minutes before not after. 4 Guys total showed up. Worked all day and finally finished at 6 or 7PM. I had to leave before they were done but they contacted me when they were leaving. I noticed the trench they dug outside for drainage was left a muddy mess so I called them to fix it. They came out the next day when they said they would and leveled the ground back out, raked it, seeded it with grass again, and laid straw down. Did a nice job. Very professional men and hard workers.

It went very well. We had our initial consultation with the representative from the company and he went over everything after going into our crawlspace and evaluating it. He took pictures and was very thorough about what needed to be done and explained how it would be done. The pricing is very high but considering what they have to do and you get what you pay for it was worth the expense to save our foundation and make the house last longer. The warranty was worth it too. Everything was done above expectations and they took pictures to show us after it was done as well.
Description of Work: They removed all insulation under house in the crawlspace and removed all debris, did mold remediation by removing all of the mold cleaning it up and sprayed a solution over entire surface area to keep it clean, installed smart pipe (weeping tile) around perimeter of house in crawlspace, installed vent covers, ice guard pipe, lawn scape outlet, installed dehumidifier, installed sump pump, and laid a basic black liner over ground area. This had to be broken up into two phases due to financial reasons. The second phase will be done at a later date.

Representative was very punctual, arriving on time. Gave us an estimate that was not unreasonable. Cost quoted fell in the middle of the several quotes we had received. However, we asked the representative to tell us exactly what was needed to correct the problem, not every possible thing that could be installed that the company might try to sell us. We felt that several items might not be necessary, but were included anyway. The proposal had several clauses in it that indicated the company had recommended installation of certain items that we were asked to initial to indicate our acknowledgement of the recommendations. The way the contract reads it appears these clauses were a way to limit liability should there ever be a problem. Decided not to use them, due to price considerations and concerns over the contract proposal clauses. The "C" rating for responsiveness was due to our concerns that we were being presented with more items than we really needed. Not an issue with the representative, but felt like the company required him to push items that might not be required.

Response from Master Services
(Member name removed) - I'm terribly sorry that you did not hear from our office. I can assure you that it is not normal for us to not respond to a request like yours! We pride ourselves on having excellent customer service and we do not settle for anything less. We tried calling you earlier this week and left a message. Please call our office at your earliest convenience so we can assist you. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed!
Overall, it was a positive experience from beginning to end: Sales rep turned up on time and made what appeared to be an honest and straightforward presentation. (I know tools and construction, and there was no BS, just a very professional presentation and subsequent proposal and estimate.) Master Dry's scheduler phoned within a couple of days to arrange for the work, and subsequently when a slight timing issue arose. They ultimately did the work within about two weeks. On the designated work days, the drivers phoned ahead to let me know they were on their way, and arrived when stated. Both installer teams (waterproofing and wall panels) worked long days to finish, were polite and informative, and were completely responsive to my requests, questions and concerns. Two slight concerns arose during the installation: First, I'm big on worker safety, and the drainage installation crew used little to know safety gear, essentially using a jackhammer in an enclosed place without adequate hearing protection and with no respirators in concrete dust so thick you couldn't see through it. Second, this same crew did not adequately protect the laminate flooring within the finished part of my basement. They put down only a single layer of thin plastic sheeting about a yard wide, then moved across it all day hauling tools and buckets of broken concrete. Fortunately, it didn't damage the floor, but it could have. They also tracked water and some mud onto the floor from both the within the basement and from outside. I felt cleanup afterward was inadequate also. However, I told them about all the issues towards the end of the day and they were respectful, receptive and apologetic. Some of second crew installing the wall panels also used inadequate hearing protection, but changed when I made a comment. All this said, the owner of the company phoned me directly after I posted a review on their website noting these deficiencies. He was respectful and apologetic and offered to return to the house to clean up any place I was concerned about. I'm easy going enough that it didn't matter that much, and declined his offer. He also noted the safety deficiencies for he crews and commented they were working on this issue generally. Note also my scoring regarding price: I scored it an "A" because it was within the range of what I generally expected, and because it was slightly lower than the proposal offered to me by B-Dry, the other company in Knoxville. I also score their Professionalism an "A" despite the minor concerns voiced here because I think it would be unfair to score it lower, given the quality of the overall experience. In my opinion, and many years and extensive experience with remodeling, construction and contracting (as a homeowner, not a professional), Master Dry is a good company. I wish there were more like this. Overall, I've rated the company highly despite these minor issues because of the overall professionalism, responsiveness and experience.
Description of Work: Master Dry installed their signature, trademark drain system along a portion of my basement walls. The sale rep can explain this system, or one can find it in great detail on their web site. Secondarily, they installed their "Basement to Beautiful" insulated wall panels over the now-waterproofed walls. The finished product was excellent, with a very clean and professional finish.
