wish I had a short way to tell my story. Several years ago (13+) Leafguard of East Tennessee was a great company. We put them on our home all those many years ago and have been fairly pleased. We did an addition on our home about 6 years ago and again called Leafguard to handle the new parts of our home. No real issues to mention then. Well I am not sure what has happened between now and then, but something seems to have changed for the worse over there. I on Leafguard again in March of 2012 and was in need of all new gutters due to the hail storms that came through in April of 2011. After accessing our gutters with our insurance rep I had also noticed that our gutters had considerable fading in several areas. The warranty that came with our gutters was lifetime no fade. I contacted Leafguard about the fading as to see if they would honor the no fade warranty and what they would be willing to do about it. I did not mention that I was in the market to replace all my gutters. I left several messages concerning the fade issues and no one in the warranty department was returning my calls. I called for about 2 weeks and finally someone called me back and set a time to come out. I waited until after lunch for what was supposed to be a morning visit. As Murphy's law would have it, they showed up about 20 min after I left the house. The fella called and I instructed his as to where to look for the fading. He found it! He stated that it did not look good. I told him it was spray paint that they had hit it with when they installed the gutters. He acknowledged that there had been some trouble with that and said he would take some pictures back to the manager at the office. I then explained to him ( and I should not have told him this) that we had been hit by the hail (2011) and that insurance had been out looking at the house when we noticed the fading. He said he would have manager call me. The next phone call I received from Leafguard was the one to inform me that was warranty was void due to hail damage. Oh you can imagine how upset I was to find out what a crummy company they were. I called around trying to find another distributor of single piece seamless gutter shield products. Well I was very sad when I figured out that Leafguard was really the only type product available. I reluctantly called them back and got the manager to come out and look and everything and give me an estimate. We she arrived she was all smiles and apologies for how things had been handled and convinced me that they had not meant to offend me. She gave me a small discount to use them to replace my gutters. At this point they were in sales mode as they knew that I would be getting insurance money and they wanted some of it. She was super friendly so I let my guard down and agreed to do business with these folks again. I paid a 30% deposit on April 4th 2012 and signed the agreement. ( I cannot stress enough how important it is to READ every word of these agreements.) It is now July 5 and I am crazy with regret for ever joining back up with Leafguard Knoxville, Tennessee. Leafguard it's self is a superior product, it is the staff of the Knoxville office that I had to blame for countless lies and broken promises. I was supposed to have all of this done and behind be but I am still waiting to have my gutters installed. Per the general manager I was supposed to have them on the 20-21 of June but they were a no show. When I called to find out why they had not shown up I was told that I was not on the list for installation that week and that the manager that I needed to talk to ( the one that had promised me they would be install on the 20-21 ) had been out that week on personal medical leave. On Monday the 25 of June they said they would have her call me later that day. I finally heard from her on Friday the 29th when she called and left me a message saying she wanted to get with me on my installation. I called her back and told her that I had been waiting all week for her to call and explain why the installers had been a no show the week before. She then informed to that she had never stated they would be there that day. She claimed that I said I would not be able to pay. This was a total fabrication on her behalf. I had never said anything like that. On the day the install had been scheduled I had asked if they could wait on my insurance check for final payment and had been informed that final payment was due when the install was complete and if not the highest interest allow by law in Tennessee would begin to accrue on that day. I had then stated that I would put it on the same credit card that I had used for the deposit and wait to get reimbursed from my insurance and got off the phone. I also made them aware that my inspector would be there on Sat the 23rd and that is why the worked me in on the 20 - 21st. If you are still reading and not totally confused you will may understand that at this point I am beginning to really doubt that my desire to stay in a relationship with this company. I told her I would just like to wash my hands of Leafguard and if she would kindly refund my money I would just look some where else for gutters. I explained that my deadline with my insurance was in jeopardy and that my inspection had came and went and the work had not be completed. I had been trying get them out to install since June 1st when the solar guys finished there work on the roof. The Solar guys could not get paid until the insurance inspection and they have been waiting a while. Long story short she (general manager) insisted that I had told her I would not be able to pay and that she would gladly get me on the books. At this point I felt like she was just calling me a liar and asked how I could reach the regional manager. She gave me her name and number ( in the same office). I finally got a hold of her today (July 5) and guess what she did not even listen to my side of the story at all. She accused me (since I was calling her from my vacation) of probably having spent the insurance money and not being able to pay. She stated that as the reason no one had came to put up my new gutters. Said she had no proof that I could pay balance. I guess the 980.00 deposit they had for 3 months was not good enough. Said she was well aware of all that had gone on and that they would hold me to the contract. I could not get one word in edge wise with this lady. She was rude from hello. I was also told that if I got a lawyer I would be in breech of contract and that interest ( at highest allowed in Tennessee) would start to accrue today on the full balance. ( even though they never put the gutters on) Anyway, my dealings with this company have been way less than desirable. I was also told, when I could not get anyone to come out about the fading and told them I would call the BBB, that the owner had put gutter of the president of the BBB Knoxville's house and that calling them would get me know where. Please what ever you do, DON"T sign a contract with them and give them any kind of money up front. The fine print of their contracts is all slanted in the interest of them not being held to any level of professionalism. You would be shocked if you read what all it really says. I would also warn that you not believe anything they say. I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience with them has been. Also note they have treated me this poorly and I am a third time customer. It is just unbelievable. I have so many more little side notes of things they did and said to me but truly I am tired.
Description of Work: They were to replace my existing Leafguard gutters with new ones after hail damage. 30% Deposit made April 4th and so far no new gutters!

The installation was OK, but had to get LeafGuard installer back to correct a few installation issues. I have not as of yet received the LeafGuard's Lifetime No Clog Warranty documents. Customer service is very poor; for days I could not get any one to respond to my concerns about the installation and materials that were scheduled for installation. Installation crews just show up to start work without letting you know.

I still have many problems with my gutters...the previous problems were not remedied by this system and now there are new problems that I never had before. In less than a year and a half the system is clogged and I have been told by three seperate installers that the system should never have been reccomended to be on my home. I continue to call but have never had any follow up from Leafguard. I was willing to spend the extra money because of the reputation of Leafguard (supposedly reliable owners and Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval) and the assurance that the system would be an improvement to my existing gutters.. I made the mistake of using this company but hope I can save someone else the expense and frustration of using them. During the past year, I still have never recieved a return phone call from them- the most recent phone call was last week.
Description of Work: We replaced the gutters on our home in November 2007. I had heard of Leafguard and had a representitive from their company-(Melissa Langston) come to give me an estimate. Our home is stucco so we wanted to ge sure that our guttering system would be adequate to protect it. At that time her company (Leafguard) had sent out a mass mailing flyers advertising promotion of "6 months same as cash". I spent an hour with her and pointed out (in deliberate detail) areas where we had water spill out of our existing gutters. Obviously, our hope was to remedy this situation. I was told the Leafguard system was designed with a wider base. The gutters were installed and with in a week we noted that the previous problem areas were still problems and that we now had new areas where the water was spilling over and saturating our stucco. In addition the "promotion" of 6 months same as cash was not honored. I made daily phone calls aking for for their company to come out and look at the issue. Their receptionist would repeat everything I said to her and I was told "I'll have some one out today" "You are on the schedule" Later the schedule was set up and no one would show up (this happened three seperate times). When I called to the office to tell them their crew "no showed" I was told they were on another job and would get back to me. Needless to say this never happened. Since my initial contaqct was Melissa Langston, I would ask for her and was told she "was not available" - I left both my home and cell phone numbers for her to return my calls but this never happened. I also asked for the owner and was told by thier receptionist (Mary) that she "could not give me his name". I later found his name was John Spry. Other times I was told they were "out of town, in meetings, unavailable, unable to return calls". I have at least seven phone calls documented. Once after I had been told they were out ofthe office...I drove to the office and ..found they were there all the time--John Spry disappeared but I did get to talk with Melissa Langston. I have found they have a sister company "All American Remodeling" which puts out mass mailings with discounts which also has a many unhappy customers.

The company uses high pressure tactics to get the contract. We paid 50% down as required, under pressure, even though they would not start the job for several weeks. When the job was supposed to be finished, we drove over 2 hours to meet the workers, inspect the work and pay the final bill. The workers left prior to our arrival, even though we were maintaining contact via cell phone. We arrived 20 minutes after the workers left, the job was incomplete due to a part not being on the truck. Anyway, the job was completed on Monday morning, but we were unable to be there due to job constraints as we live over 2 hours away from said house. The office manager, Melissa, harassed us via cell and home phone that if we didn't pay by credit card (oh NO) or overnight check that she would arrange for removal of gutters and place a lien on the home. She was very unprofessional and treated us as deadbeats. Since we own several homes in the area we will NOT be using LeafGuard.
Description of Work: New gutters were placed on a home-remodel we were doing on a house that we don't live in yet. The gutters were correct color, placed correctly, but work was not completed on schedule, causing delay in final payment. Read below.

Experienced delays at beginning, seemed to be communication problem between person who answers phone (All American Remodeling) and installers. Took a few days to figure out we were waiting on some part. Downspouts were installed, white instead of color I'd chosen, but was not worth ripping out and starting over. First called for a service on 7/30/07, being naive and thinking it a simple issue requiring a service tech to meet me at the house. Today is 10/25/07, and a person actually came. I have documented every call I've made or received, to/from whom, date and time. On 10/8/07 (after being told that service had been here on September 15th, I was not home, they left me a note about adding flashing to alleviate my problem), I compiled my notes into a very long email to the company. Sept. 15 was a Saturday, they were not here, there was not a note, and no flashing has been added anywhere. System is only as good as installer, and promised service is nonexistent. I'm out of room here-
Description of Work: Installed new guttering system, whole house, after major renovation project here which included new siding and roof. This was late spring/early summer, 2006.

Leaf Guard did an absolutely wonderful job with my gutters. The best part of it all is that I do not ever have to worry about gutters again. I will never have to clean them again. If anything gets clogged up in them, like the one time when squirrel built a nest in there, they will come and clean them out for free. It was a little bit on the expensive side but it was all very well worth it to me.

They finished the job very quickly and they were very thorough with their work. The gutters were functioning perfectly. I have been very happy with them and the guys didn't leave any mess to clean up. What really impressed me was they did a follow up afterwards to insure everything was done right.
Description of Work: They put nice, new capped, top-of-the-line gutters and down spouts on our 2500 square foot, 2 story home.

I have had them up for about 5 or 6 months now. About three weeks ago I noticed a five foot section pulling loose from the house. I think the fascia board may have been loose and the installers stuck the gutters on it without fixing it first. I have called four times now over the last three weeks. I still do not know how many people are ahead of me for repair service. I guess I will be calling again next week. We just want to know when they will get to us. Aside from this we are happy with the gutter system in general.

Leaf Guard Of Tennessee was on time. They were well prepared and skilled for the job. Even though they were here just a short time I found them to be very polite, kind and respectful. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.
Description of Work: They replaced old gutters with new gutters that have leaf guards. They hauled the old gutters away.

I was not happy with them, because I was still trying to get them to get the job done right. We were getting rain between the gutters and the fascia boards and the gutters were not installed properly. They came back once already, to try to fix it and it took them 7 weeks to come then. It still wasn t right.
Description of Work: They replaced my old gutters with some new type of gutters. I purchased the gutters from this company.
