iIt was determined the reason my internet and streaming services were unavailable was the company upgraded their system. My very new wireless Cisco Linksys 4200 would no longer be able to connect the signal and was replaced with their bigger, better, more expensive cable wireless. After the shock of this wore off, I could no longer use my wireless printer. I purchased a new one, a Canon wireless Pixma printer and spent a week night and day trying to make it work wirelessly with the Knology cable box. I called Knology as a last resort after installing and uninstalling the printer software to no avail. I explained the problem to the person on the Knology customer service line and to my utter amazement she asked me what kind of printer I was trying to connect and then told me she had the same cable box and had no problem connecting hers at all and proceeded to connect me to Canon tech support. Knology was recently sold to another company and apparently customer service is not high on their agenda. I am looking for another vendor for my Internet/cable provider.
Description of Work: My personal wireless device was uninstalled and replaced with a Knology wireless. There were no instructions included in case of a problem or question.

When I moved to my house it was determined that I couldn't get satellite TV anymore due to trees, so i had to switch to cable and cable options were limited to Knology or a bigger competitor. Having had a bad experience with the competitor--which I had vowed to never use again--I decided to try Knology for both my internet and TV despite their being a bit more expensive. Hookup was great and the service seemed OK. within in few weeks I began having issues with the internet service dropping out.intermittently. Then on my first bill, I was charged for a modem rental despite having purchased my own gateway/router. Knology quickly corrected the rental charges; however, the intermittent internet continued to be a problem for the next 9 months. 6 Technician visits and who knows how many customer service calls later, the internet was still being sporadic and the onsite tech was just saying there was nothing they could do. I ended up canceling my Internet and switching to DSL... Not really having another option for cable, I kept my cable with Knology. In the next year I had my DVR fail 3 times (aka erase everything on it) and require replacement once. Knology refused to offer me any credits for any of that. Then in July I received a bill where my service fees had suddenly been doubled with no explanation. I called Knology and was told that I'd been recieving a discount that I wasn't entitled to and that there was nothing they could do. Either I pay $132/mo for digital basic or I go with someone else. I couldn't keep the service at that price--nor would it have been worth it, so I canceled my service that day, returned my DVR to the Knology office the next day and switched back to an using an antenna for my TV. Now I visit friends houses to watch satellite/cable.... and I thought that would be the end of it. .A month later I receive a bill showing that Knology owed me $80.80 credit... makes since since I canceled mid-month... A month later I get another bill stating I owe Knology $80 for "unreturned equipment". You note that I returned the DVR, so what equipment could I have... after 3 phone calls they inform me that I have a modem that I did not return... I'm sure you noted that I mentioned using my OWN modem for their never-worked-more-than-50%-of-the-time internet service... 3 more phone calls and they are still insisting that I have their modem and that it's my responsibility to find it despite the fact that they cannot provide me any document showing that I actually received such a device.. I'm sure this really started as a clerical error, but now it's become a mission for me to get my money back if for no other reason than the annoyance they've made for me. This is just bad customer service, but I'm not sure why that should surprise me when they couldn't get their service to work half the time...

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Less channels, cable and internet equipment didn't always function well, and the phone service was sketchy at best. Several of our "upper" channels (greater than 100) don't work all the time. when the service tech came out -- he said it was because of our cable line in the house and that there was nothing they could do about it. I thought it was odd that they would work OK for a while, but then just stop working all together. The internet was unbelievably slow -- much slower than what we were told we'd be getting. Each time we called -- no one could tell us why the internet was so slow. We're moving soon -- and will be switching back to another service.
Description of Work: We switched from C-cast to Knology to save money.

Well. It didn't fix the problem. The problem is slow service at predictable times such as mid morning and early evening. During times that their clients need their service it is either slow or completely unavailable. They have a bandwidth problem that they just can't seem to overcome. I'm being forced to switch to Copmcast because I'm not getting service when I need it the most.
