The work crew showed up on time, and the lead man quickly organized the work tasks to be performed. Disassembly proceeded quickly and neatly. Island cabinet tops were notched and the cantilever support plates installed. A one-piece (no seams !) 46and quot; x 86and quot; island top was placed, along with the rest of the countertops (about 24 linear feet) and backsplash. The one seam in a corner joint was done very well and is almost invisible. Cut-outs for the sink and the cooktop / raised vent were done here. The crew used plastic sheeting to and quot;tentand quot; the cutting areas and a filtered vacuum cleaner minimize dust. Although the crew took reasonable precautions to minimize dust, it did migrate throughout the cabinet spaces. To make cleanup easier, we recommend removing all drawers in cabinets (not just to top ones). The installation was completed in one day. After installation, we noted a couple ends on the backsplash were not caulked, and one small spot where clear caulking was intended, but almond was used. The installer responded very quickly and remedied the problems. Its been about 5 weeks since the installation, and we're very pleased with both the quality of the work and the Cambria material.
Description of Work: Had our existing Formica countertops replaced with Cambria (quartz). Kitchen Sales Gallery had a good selection of samples, most much larger than the small 4" x 4" sample we found at other locations. Staff was knowledgable and helpful with selection of material and patterns. We provided detailed measurement and they responded pretty quickly with a written estimate. We recommend doing your own initial detailed measurements, as it makes their estimating job quicker and easier. The job involved removing the kitchen sink, a gas cook top, and a downdraft raised vent mechanism. All were reused, so careful disassembly was important to us. Our existing island countertop had a large overhang (about 20") on the seating side, a feature we wanted to retain. Other providers told us we had to shorten it, and others wanted corbels or legs installed to support the heavier Cambria top, with neither a desirable solution. The installer (Smokey Mountain Countertops) devised a cantilever plate to provide the needed extra support.

They subcontracted the countertops to another company. This company did a good job. The sink that was ordered was not the one we got. They sent this to the countertop company, they cut the countertop to fit. They took the cost out of their pocket and fixed it, so we were ok with. It was a lot of time that we didn't expect. We had to wait another 2 weeks for this to be put back in.
Description of Work: They put new cabinets, countertops.

The countertops look great with my new cabinets. I couldn't be happier with the new look my kitchen has. I am very impressed with the professional job that was done. The workmen removed all the old countertops and even wiped off the new countertops when they were done. The cost was the best estimate that we had obtained, so we used this company.
Description of Work: My 12x16 kitchen needed new countertops, since the old ones looked awful. We had installed about 1000 square foot of new granite countertops. The cost included all materials and labor.
