I contacted Mr. Johnson regarding a washing machine that overflowed. He set an appointment and was punctual for that visit. He assessed the situation, stating that it was caused by a clogged shut-off tubing that connects to the water control switch. He cleaned the tubing and only charged me the service call fee of $75. Sounds plausible and reasonable. A week later, I noticed water on my floor under the machine and called back. He said he'd be out the next day at noon. He didn't show. After multiple texts and phone calls, I gave up and contacted another repairman. Totally unresponsive - I have yet to receive any type of communication after 3 weeks! Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I would NEVER use him again nor would I recommend him to anyone - EVER.

Took a $125 deposit to order part over 9 months ago. Told us part was delayed again and again. Now will not even answer phone or return our calls. I guess we are out $125 now. DO NOT do business with him.

Gordon showed up and looked at our fridge. He took a check (wont accept credit card) for $450 to order a part. We set an appointment and were in constant communication via text. The day of the appointment he was a no show and made various excuses for three days. Then, silence. Wouldn't return calls or emails. We had friends call to make an appointment and he answered their calls. We are out the cash. Very dishonest man to take cash and not return calls. Stay away. We are telling everyone.

My LG refrigerator had stopped being cold. I called Gordon and asked how much it would be for him to come out. He said it would be $75 and that would go towards the repair if needed. He arrived an hour early without calling. He assessed my refrigerator and said that it needed a new control panel and it would be about $400 from a particular site. He told me my compressor was fine. My husband found the control panel for $200 and I called Gordon asked him to come back and put it in. When he came back, it took him about 15 minutes and said THEN said that this required another $75. I asked him about what he told me when I initially called and he became agitated. He said the refrigerator should be cold by the morning. It was not. I called and asked him when he would be back and he said a particular day at a particular time. No show. No call. This went on for a couple of weeks. I would sit home and wait and he would never call to say that he was not showing up even though I would text and call trying to find out. He would never respond. One time, he was two hours late and I had an appointment so I had a friend sit out at the house and he still never came. I definitely had other things to do besides waiting all day for him to arrive and he did not even have the decency to call. I am sure Gordon would not like to be treated this way. I finally called Real-Time Appliance Repair and they told me that my refrigerator was still under warranty! I also found out that to work on a LG refrigerator, you have to be certified and have all sorts of special tools, which Gordon never brought into my house even though he said he could work on LG appliances. Real-Time could tell that the compressor had never been checked because it needed to be pierced and mine was not. The issue was the compressor! I had my original control panel put back in and it worked just fine!!! Real-Time fixed my refrigerator quickly and pefectly . I asked Gordon to send me the second receipt and he never did. One time, he said that he would and then he never replied again. I texted for a refund of the $150, since he did not fix my refrigerator and NEVER came back out. What a surprise...No response. DO NOT USE!

The old phrase ?a bull in a china shop? pops immediately to mind when thinking of my experience with this outfit ? except Johnson Appliance Repair sent a team of them to install our new range! The team leader, I believe, was named Gordon; I can?t remember the other guy ever introducing himself. This outfit was acting as a subcontractor for American Home Shield (AHS), who markets home protection warranties. They were supposed to uncrate and install a new Jenn-Aire gas range ? after AHS determined our old one could not be repaired. When setting this installation up, AHS personnel also told me that the installers would take care of removal and disposal of the old range. About all that went well was that they showed up around 10:15; the appointment was for 10:00. Still, 15 minutes is better promptness than I?ve gotten from the telephone and cable TV companies with whom I?ve dealt. These guys didn?t even get the range completely uncrated before mangling the decorative stainless steel kick plate on the front of the unit! Oddly, the second step in the included installation manual ? right after telling about removing packing materials and loose parts shipped inside the range ? reads ?Remove screws from kick plate.? The instructions then continue with instructions for removing the kick plate so as not to damage it. Next, while attempting to manhandle the unit through one of our sliding patio doors, they caught a piece of sheet metal near the bottom of the range on the door sill ? bending a corner of it away from the range body -- facilitating it plowing a couple of gouges into our oak floor. Things calmed down a bit for a while as they started figuring how to attach the existing gas plumbing to the range. However, they soon realized they?d have leave for an hour or so to go to the hardware store for some fittings. Fortunately ? and apparently rightfully ? in my pre-installation paranoia, I had already bought a bunch of pipe elbows and stubs that I thought might be needed. The threatened delay was avoided as they picked the elbows and stubs required from my stash. I later returned the unused items to Home Depot. This plumbing exercise was not completely without incident, though. The process of routing the gas line without interfering with any of the range components required moving the unit into and out of the opening several times. During these iterations they damaged the custom platform I made to align the cooktop with our higher-than-normal countertops. The final iteration of this moving out and in process was, indeed, the most memorable, though. Rather than use one of the conventional methods for checking the integrity of the gas connections (like maybe a soapy solution ? or even some kind of a chemical detector), the assistant bull asked our son to borrow his cigarette lighter and then played the flame over the connections ? proudly asserting something to the effect of ?this way, you know right now if there?s a leak!? Finally, after forcing my heart from my throat back down into my chest cavity, with the installation complete ? and our nearly $6,000 Jenn-Aire gas range looking like a new car with a bashed-in fender on one of those auto insurance commercials ? the lead bull appeared to record model and serial numbers and promised they?d order another kick plate and let me know when it arrived to make arrangements to get it to me. They then departed without even asking about removal and disposal of the old range, however ? after the events of the preceding two hours or so, taking that thing to the dump myself seemed preferable ? Over the ensuing month and a half I called several times to see when I could expect the new kick plate ? and was told every time that it was on ?back order.? Never once, did the person who answered the phone identify himself. Finally, disgusted with what can only be interpreted as an attempt to stall -- and dejected about our nearly $6,000 range looking like a dented-up automobile -- I went on line and located a factory replacement part in under 5 minutes. Even more surprising is that www.AppliancePartsPros.com had the new kick plate on our porch less than 48 hours after I ordered it! I have since communicated an abbreviated version of this saga to Johnson Appliance Repair with a request to be reimbursed for only the replacement kick plate and postage. I?m still waiting ? If this is the type of outfit with whom you?d like to do business, then have at it. Who knows? Your story might be even more memorable ?

Turns out the part was not the problem. The compressor failed. Cost to replace was prohibitive so we had to replace the refrigerator. I wonder if someone else might have identified the compressor without having to order the part. (The part was burned out because of the bad compressor).
Description of Work: Refrigerator was not cooling. Identified part that might be the problem. I ordered the part and he returned to install the part when it was received.
