 + 1 moreJess came over the day I called him and went to work immediately to caulk the flashing and temporarily reattach the rain gutter until he could come back and replace some rotten fascia and attach the gutter. We had some very heavy rain forecast and his temporary fix prevented more damage. He managed to come back a few days later, after the rain, and completed the job. He also cleaned the gutters.
Description of Work: Replaced and painted fascia and reattached rain gutter, caulked leak in chimney flashing.

Unlike most handymen I have dealt with in the past, Jess returned my call the same day, followed up with me before the scheduled days of work, showed up on those days at exactly the time he said he would, and did outstanding work. Although he stays very busy, he always finds a way to work in new jobs. And although my jobs weren't significant in terms of cost, he treated the work as though it was the most important work he was doing at the time. He performed this work at a rental house I own in Oak Ridge, but I have been so pleased that I intend to use him for new work at my current home in Knoxville. I highly recommend Jess!!!

 + 0 moreI called Jess after learning from two other handyman and/or roofing repair services (both highly-rated by Angie's List) that it would be at least $150-$250 and two weeks for them to get to me. Jess was on another job, but was at a stopping point. He went to his shop, picked up a ladder and went by my house to see what it would take to fix the ridge vent on my roof. When my son and I got home, he wanted to see the hole in the roof so I took him out back and to our surprise, Jess had already been there and repaired the problem and another small problem he noted while he was up there. Same-day service and at a fraction of what two of the larger services would have charged just for the service call. I have already lined up more work for him for myself and a friend! Highest possible ratings and many thanks!

Description of Work: Chandelier light switch replaced;installed new shop light in laundry room; adjusted toilet tank water level; cut ceiling tiles to fit suspended ceiling in basement and laundry room; closed off an unfinished part of ceiling in basement to keep my cats from being able to jump up there and walk around on my ceiling tiles; connected the ac ducts to the vents in the finished basement because they werent installed correctly previously; checked a bathtub that once had been leaking; ran new electrical in my garage fof the garage door openers because someone had wired the lights and garage door openers together, meaning you could only use one or the other, and so now each is on its own separately; replaced a decorative pillar that had gotten wet and rotted; ran a pvc drain to connect my downspouts to the already installed underground drainage. He completed all of the above in 16 hours, at $30 an hour for labor, ($480), and materials came to $358.21. Copies of receipts for the materials purchased were emailed to me for my records upon request.

He was thorough, punctual and clean! In a few short hours he accomplished what would've taken me several weekends. I would hire him again in a second.

When I asked Jess to do the above job, I needed it before Thanksgiving and he was able to accommodate me.He shares valuable tips about other things that might be helpful to the home owner in the future which I think is quite remarkable. I am very comfortable having Jess work in my home and plan to hire him again for another project in the near future, as soon as I get through the expense of Christmas.

 + 2 moreJess did a fantastic job getting the mold out, taking pictures of the affected area after it was opened up, then showing me what he did to fix the problem. As part of the repairs, he also installed a new exterior door, replaced and finished new sheetrock where the mold had been, killed ants that were present (unbeknownst to me) in the molded area inside the wall, and hauled off the debris. The area looks great now! Jess also very graciously gave me some advice and pointers on other work that I was considering having done. He is very generous with his time and sincerely wants to help his customers. I will be using his services again!
Description of Work: I had Jess come over to look at an area of mold that was present in a foreclosed home that I had purchased. We talked about what would be needed to determine the source of the mold and possible treatments and repairs, based on that knowledge. With my permission, he even removed a piece of the door trim next to the moldy area and determined where the water was coming in from -- all during the estimate process, without charging me.
