Hiller Plumbing Heating & Cooling

So far it has not gone well, my issue started in March and has yet to be fixed. At first Hiller said it was KUB's problem and KUB agreed. Then KUB decided that due to the location it was my issue to repair. OK, I agreed to have Hiller repair it and was given a quote from the project manager William. On May 2 Hiller arrived about 330 in the afternoon and proceeded to dig a hole to expose the sewer pipe. I now have a big hole in my front yard and it is May 31. I have made countless phone calls to William, the project manager, and he has only picked up once. He said he would get back to me with a date and time to finish the job. It's now been 2 weeks since then and no call back with a date and time to finish the job . Needless to say, I am not happy. I shouldn't have to continually call and leave messages and not even get a call back. I just want the job finished. As a loyal customer of Hiller's for 17 years I do not feel this is the proper way to treat someone. Do I need to hire another plumber for the job so it can be finished? I'm beginning to think so.

So as to show good faith on my part, I am removing this portion of my review. I have been contacted by Josh, and we are going to try and see if we can work this out. I believe that is all you can ask for. You may not always come to an agreement, but knowing everyone made every effort to bring things together is all you can hope for. Hiller is doing just that now, and I hope for a positive outcome.

I had Hiller out to run a gas line so I could replace my electric stove with a gas one. I tried another local plumber first who came out and gave me a quote and then when the workers got here they tripled the price. So I called Hiller. They came out the next day and gave me a good quote. Then came out the following day and performed the work. And they worked miracles with how great the work went and how little wall damage there was. And they charged me what they quoted me. Then I called the next day to have them come out and install my new stove. Which they did the next day and while here they fixed my gas fireplace. Amazing guys, fantastic work. I don't know why there's bad word of mouth for these guys but they were just super.

It went excellent and they also give me advise about the Heating &A/C, plumbing, electric. And I will refer them to my neighbors.

Fantastic. Technicians were on time on both ends of the project, courteous, professional, and very friendly. They did an excellent job carefully removing and replacing the entire unit and cleaning up any residual mess.

They fixed a broken pipe in my wall from when it burst. I thought the pricing was high. They just fixed one thing. They are okay. You could look around and maybe get a better price. The communication was good.

It was perfect, they were wonderful. They were very helpful.

Marcus was efficient, professional and knowledgeable. He resolved all the issues. The air coming out of my vents is now 47 degrees! I would absolutely recommend them!

It is $100 a year to be in their club where they inspect your air conditioning. To tune up your air conditioning and heating. They inspect your electric and plumbing once a year. I am thinking of cancelling and going to another company. They presented to me their new pricing scheme. It is about to go from $100 a year to $300 a year. I guess it is some kind of hair brain scheme that they are going to put aside $100 a year so then in 8 years, you will have $800 towards buying a new air conditioning and heating system. It is a bunch of BS. . They have generally trending in the last two years to extremely jacking up their prices for everything. They used to be a really good company and now they are a money grubbing company. I have had a lot of work with them not just these yearly inspections. Under the right circumstances, I would use them again.

Hiller responded very quickly. Did a great job explaining the situation and making the needed repair quickly and professionally. Very courteous, kind, clean and polite.

Excellent service each time. Very professional, polite, diligent workers who finished tasks in one or two days, cleaned up all their mess and took it with them. We will definitely have them back to help with the rest of our home updating.

They were friendly but the estimate was crazy high

TOOOO expensive...Hep said 3250 and Hiller said 12,500. Sheesh! Plus he was trying to give us more outlets than required. One outlet on each wall wld work with a small room.

We highly recommend them, they do a wonderful job explaining the work being done to us.

The pricing was competitive. We will use them again.

Good job. Only complaint is a there was no break in cost for servicing 2 units on same service call.

It's wonderful. They check your air conditioning, heating, plumbing, faucets. They are thorough. They came very punctually. Everything is done very quickly and professionally.

They came out, checked out my A/C that had quit on me during the horrible humid heat. He informed me the air had quit that evening as a safety measure, and it restarted on its own early the next a.m. I am elderly and on oxygen, and the company I had been with could have cared less. He cleaned my A/C, I signed up with them, and he assured me, they will come 24 hours a day. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN, they are insensitive to need of customer and provide false advertising that they are available for emergencies. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I had already bought and exact duplicate of my water heater to make installation easier and less costly, yet he still quoted $600.00 plus service charge to change the water heaters out. I have neighbors who have gotten much better pricing. In the end, he replaced the thermostat and gas control unit. He cussed while he did it and made a mess. Then offered me the "old man" discount. I later complained on their website. After about 3 days someone called and apologized and offered a refund of the service charge ( never did get it). They also promised to have the local manager call and explain why it would cost six hundred dollars to do an exact replacement on a water heater. (he never called). Would not recommend this company.

the initial visit was several weeks ago and I was not completely satisfied with the install, however Hiller was very responsive to my concerns and was definitely interested in making my purchasing experience a positive one. They addressed all of my issues and did so in a completely professional manner. I will use them again for sure.

They did a great job. They were so kind and thoughtful. He used the parts that he had in his van. He only charged me for the service call. He got if fixed in no time. I was very pleased with the work. They called the next day to make sure that the service guy showed up and that I was satisfied with his.

So here is a bit of information when considering the "moral compass" of this provider you might want to digest first before selecting them to service your residence; Our sewage is supported by an assist-grinder/pump (E-one). Until Saturday afternoon, I had never heard of this particular device. Here is a bit of what I learned - We are part of a subdivision that has elevation, and, unbeknownst to me (regardless of the literature provided to me in the purchase of my house 10+ years ago) I was unaware completely of what that means, with regards to sewage transportation. For those that are as naive as me (unlikely) - the big round green thing in the ground (looks like a round trashcan lid) on the side of your house, which is tied to a little beige (probably) box with a red light on the top of it (locked - or should be!) contains your E-one (most likely) grinder/pump. This device grinds up (like a giant garbage disposal) the sewage from your house and shoots it down a pipe, that apparently has some elevation to it, on the way to the main drain at the street. Completely common, many subdivisions in our area have houses that support this. Our grinder pump, we come to discover after some self-investigating (with the help of a friend/handyman) was completely burned out and we were suffering from, instead of what initially seemed to be a main drain clog (backed up/slow drainage throughout the house, bubbling air in the toilets when the showers/tubs would drain, etc.), something quite a bit more (it initially appeared) costly - the replacement of this grinder pump device. Now, in my defense (because I feel I need one!) we were not aware there was a serious issue, due to the fact the warning light on the beige box outside that indicates a serious issue with the grinder pump was not going off - turns out the control panel (as bad luck would have it) was burnt out (which we were later informed led to the grinder burning out in the first place). Having NO idea about grinders, just knowing that we needed one, we called a couple local plumber service desks, to see if we could get a technician out to verify what the handyman had feared to be the case and to get an estimate on replacement. HILLER was the first to respond, sending a technician to our house within hours. He quickly assesses the situation (without confirming the grinder burnout himself, until I ask him to) and provides us two estimates - the first one is $5,700+ dollars for a brand new unit. The second is $3200+ dollars for a refurbished one - new parts, old casing, lesser warranty - but they might have one in stock if I'm "lucky". Well, obviously, this is a serious investment, so we decide to call around and price shop. Our very first call leads us to a very nice independent contractor who informs us we need to check with our utilities, something isn't right. We proceed to do so and come to find out (like I am sure anyone remotely aware of what the E-one is for, or who has read the literature associated with their house purchase knows...) that the MAINTENANCE associated with these grinders is covered by our utility and all we have to do is call them! They handled the replacement, installation and repair of the associated burnt out board - within an hour of calling - FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. ZERO DOLLARS, ZERO CENTS. Now, I know HILLER might say they were unaware of who serviced us, that we were covered by our utility or that it was a utility-installed E-one - I certainly never told them, so how could they know, right? right?.... *cough* Really? REALLY??? Ask yourself - Even if they did not know - shouldn't they? Shouldn't they ask/inquire/support you in trying to save THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS??? I mean, this should have been a service call visit at most - with a "Sir, you're an idiot - call your utility, they handle this"... Instead they (knowingly in my opinion) try and gouge us for $5700+ DOLLARS... Ask yourself - Does this company sound like the kind of "professional" support you want coming to your house? The kind of company that is looking out for your best interests?
