FUHRMAN MARK W LANDSCAPE CO

We bought a 2-year old house on Tellico Lake that Mark Fuhrman had originally landscaped and installed three water features. It has two high-sloping banks on either of stairs down to the lake. We asked Mark Furhman's firm for landscape designs that would put plants on the bank with low maintenance requirements since it is extremely difficult to maneuver on the bank. They suggested forsythia, pampass grass and other ornamental grasses. Not knowing much about landscaping we contracted with them to do the work as planned. The installation was done fairly well except that the plants they put in do need trimming and maintenance. When I called to get them to come and maintain our landscaping, I was told "we only install; we don't maintain what we install." Now the Pampass Grass is out of controll and the other grasses have invaded other areas of our yard, and it is going to be very difficult and expensive to replace what Mark Furhman Landscaping incorrectly recommended for the area. The three water features installed for the original home owners started leaking, and when I called Mark Fuhrman about paying his firm to come and repair and maintain the water features, I was again told, "We only install; we don't maintain." I found another pond repair company and when he started repairing the leak, he found that Mark Fuhrman's installers had actually built the ponds wrong and put the rubber liner down first when an underlayment product is supposed to be put down first, then the rubber liner put down. The underlayment is put down first to protect the rubber liner from small stones in the earth that would puncture the rubber liner and cause leaks. We had to tear out and repair what Mark Furhman's firm had done wrong. I will never use this firm again and will never recommend it to anyone.

They did a nice job on the grading. However, two years later we are very unhappy with the sod. At least half of it has been taken over by other grasses - it just can't compete. They never gave us any long-term care instructions for the sod. We have called them several times this spring to come look at it and advise us, but they have not shown up.

They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. They did an excellent job and I am very pleased with the service. They were on time and friendly and made sure to answer all of our questions. I would recommend them to anyone because our landscape was beautiful.

We wanted the flagstone around our porch because our dog was tracking mud everywhere and we thought it would help to keep the mud down. A crew of several guys took one day. We are completely satisfied with the results.
