I was referred to this contractor by a family member and then looked him up on Angies list. I contacted him and he gave me an estimate and even though he was a little higher then others in price, he had done a good job for my family member so I decided to hire him. He explained what he was going to have to do the job. We signed a rough draft contract explaining I would be responsible for supplying materials and he would supply labor. He first layed down 1/2 inch backerboard using thinset and screws every 6 inches. Let dry for a few days and came back and poured a leveling agent to try to level the floor. Let it dry for a few days and then had to repeat in order to finish the leveling. He then returned a couple days later and layed the tile. After drying for two days, he returned and grouted the tile. He then came back wiped up excess grout from tile and placed my appliances back. He left on vacation for a week, returned, and set cabinets, installed lighting. He left some of the detail work for me to do in order to save me money which helped make up a little difference in labor costs.
