Fountain City Finance Co Inc

Company was very untimely, did not read initial paperwork correctly and failed to notify us of rejection. Rejection was also bogus, as I have a great credit score as does my fiancee. It was based on ONE late payment due to computer glitch. I suppose they have the right to refuse us, however we waited a very long time for results and I had to call to get them. Personally, so many places are refinancing, I would definitely go with another company.

Based on local advertising we used Fountain City Finance Company to refinance our home with a lower mortgage rate. The initial application process went smoothly. However, the process was not timely and there were snags along the way that delayed the completion of the loan. Fountain City lost the proof of insurance from our insurance company and I had to obtain another copy and provide it to them. They recommended a home appraiser and it was completed in a timely manner but just before closing, we were told that the appraiser was not state certified and we needed a certified inspection report. Fountain City was able to get an appraiser to complete the proper paper work..an additional expense we had to pay. At closing we found out that our loan had been sold twice before we closed. Additionally, we had instructed Fountain City that we would pay all closing cost in cash at the time of closing. Apparently they didn't listen because the closing costs were included in our over all mortgage loan. They couldn't change it without redoing all of the paperwork and setting up a new closing date. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and was an inconvenience to us. We went with Fountain City because we thought it would be a local loan but there was nothing local about it.
