The first thing I would note is that they have moved but not updated their website. This should have been the first clue. I have an Asus Zenbook. The touchpad started acting up 2 weeks earlier but I rarely use it as I have a Bluetooth mouse. We went to Knoxville for Thanksgiving and it really started giving me problems. The cursor would jump around, opening cell in Excel and inserting data, jumping around in Word docs and causing problems on web pages. The touchpad cannot be disabled, a known issue with Zenbooks. I noted that if the laptop was picked up by the corner, either left or right, everything worked fine. I needed this laptop because I use it on business trips. So, looking on the internet, Cybertec seemed to be a good choice because they say they've been in business in Knoxville for 25 years. Bottom line, I was supposed to get a diagnosis within an hour. They spent all day supposedly just turning it off and on. After I got ahold of them 6 hours after dropping it off, they requested authorization to take the back off the computer! When I dropped it off originally, I gave a thorough description of the problem to include the flexing-fix, along with authorization to perform ANY diagnosis needed. So I told them to go ahead. 2 hours later, they called me stating they were 90% sure what the problem was and if I could get back there within the hour (before they closed) they would let me know what they found. What I found is that they really had no idea. Except now the computer will not boot up at all, it will not power up on battery at all, they explained the broken tabs on the battery were pre-existing, and that, because the fan wasn't spinning, they were 90% sure that's what the problem was. They had no fan to test it. 3 weeks and $30 later, it's not the fan and I'm looking for a reputable company in Huntsville, AL, our home, to get my laptop fixed.

I took my HP laptop here in December of 2013 prior to Christmas and was told that there was an heating issue with the laptop overheating I was quoted a price of $159 for the repair my computer had been shutting all and would not stay onI was advised by the owner since it was doing the holidays they would be closed therefore I would pick up the laptop after the new year.Which was fine with me. I contacted the owner in early January after the new year and was told my laptop was repaired am i full charge would be $159. I went to pick up the laptop around January 14 2014 once I got to the shop I had to sit there for approximately 2 hours while my laptop ran updates. Although I had been told all the updates were done. the owner and then told me the cost of the service wouldn't now be $255 he stated they had to restore my operating system and add heating paste, he also stated my boot system was corrupt so they had to repair it which lead to more charges bringing the total up to $255. I was not pleased with that price but because I thought the laptop was repaired I paid it. after finally getting the laptop home it began to do exactly the same thing that it did prior to me taking it to the shop it was dialing and would not boot up windows 7. so on the next Monday 48 hours later I returned to the shop. I discussed with the laptop was not repaired and was doing the same thing. he said they would look at it and if it was the same problem there will be no charge but if it was not he would charge more. of course it was the same problem I ended up leaving my laptop there another week until I received a call that it was repaired. again I got there and it was not through updating and it seems to still be having issues so I left it there. for a few more days. he was now saying he thought it was the video chip but was not sure. prior to taking my laptop to the shop I was having no problem with the video at all. when I finally picked the laptop up he stated it was repaired again but before leaving the shop blue lines ran across my screen he seemed puzzled shut the computer down and turned it back on then it finally booted up and then he told me you should start saving up for a new computer. He actually wanted to charge me another fee but I told him I could not pay anymore as the computer still was not properly repaired. once I got the laptop home its in my work for about 1 week until finely the screen completely stopped working. Again I had had no problem with the screen prior to taking it to the shop the only issue was it shutting down due to overheating. II honestly think the only thing that needed to be done was for the fan to be cleaned in order to cool the laptop properly after going to the shop my laptop is completely ruined and he refused to give me any form of a refund or credit. although he stated if I purchased a new computer he would give me a discount on setting it up as if I would ever do business with them again. I do not feel this merchant was completely honest with me from day one regarding the problem with the laptop and their ability to repair it.
Description of Work: This is a computer repair shop supposedly. I took my HP here for repair.I was told by the owner Chi it was a heating issue. They supposedly added heating paste and worked on the operating system.
