Charles came out and quoted removal of 6 dead trees as well as installing a cable in a 100 foot Tulip Poplar to prevent it from splitting. He said they were scheduling over 2 months out but if I was able to do "short notice", they might be able to get out sooner. They showed up in 2 weeks! Excellent. Tyson was the "monkey" in the trees, swinging from branch to branch on his rigging while being easily 80 feet in the air. Even their 70 foot bucket truck couldn't reach where he was going. Very impressive. This wasn't the first time they did work here and it won't be the last. They know what they're doing and have the equipment to get it done. Thanks guys!!

I highly recommend Cortese Tree Specialists. I’ve enjoyed excellent service from them for several years, and from the Wolf Tree Experts subsidiary before them. David Dunn has always been highly knowledgeable and professional. As have the rest of their arborists on staff. Just today Nick and Tommy were here. They arrived promptly, had with them all the tools needed, and worked through some pretty miserable weather to complete the task on schedule. Bravo!

David Dunn was our representative. He is a knowledgeable arborist with a professional demeanor. Came out reviewed our needs and answered questions. We had an estimate by the end of day. We agreed on both price and service. The crew arrived on time. Professional attire. They started work immediately. Worked tirelessly ... took breaks in shifts. A 10 hour work day. The crew clean up was impeccable. We highly recommend Cortese and will hire them again.

I put in a request for a consultation through their website and received no response, then called them and left a message and also received no response.

Nick responded to my request. He called before he came and arrived at appointed time. He listened to my concerns about specific trees and did an inspection of trees. His remarks and advice were very professional. He mailed us a follow up description of any work that may need to be done and the best time of year to do the work to maintain the health of the trees. I found his work to be exemplary and estimates of tree trimming and removal (if needed) to be reasonable.

Ryan, Stephen and Walker arrived on time and immediately started to work. They worked hard all day with just a short break for lunch. At the end of the day they did an outstanding job of cleaning up the yard. My wife and I are very pleased with their workmanship and professionalism. Well done!

I called them and David Wood, who is the person that comes out and evaluate things. He looked at the tree and said the problem was that I had three trunks. It was a Helleri Holly tree, so ideally I would want a pyramid shape to it. He said that I am not going to get a pyramid shape with the three trunks. He said that they could try to shape it as best as they can. He said ideally they could cut it off even with the ground and as it sprouts up, just limit it to one sprout. He says it grows fast so it's going to look funny for a while, but in three years I'm going to have something and keep it to one trunk. I asked him is there any reason the man that mows my yard, and that has been doing my shaping that he couldn't do this. He looked a little taken back, but to me this is the honesty of the company. He said there is no reason he couldn't do it. If he has a chainsaw he can just cut it off flush with the ground.The other reason we used the company for is our hack berry's. We have two hack berry's that are actually on the lot line, but we don't have neighbors. The house is vacant. These two hack berry's 15 years ago, David tells me a nasty insect came into the area and moves into the hack berry's a produces some sort of syrup. In the late Summer the leaves fall on our cars and deck. It's just nasty. What can be done is to put stakes into the perimeter of the tree line, put the stakes into the ground and I guess it kills the insects. That has to be done every year. That cost $335 for that tree. I went online and price those stakes and those are over $100. When you think about pounding those into the ground, or paying somebody. I feel like I'm better off paying a tree service. Cortese tree service is the tree service that serves as adviser to our botanical garden. They know what they're doing, they're not the cheapest. If you go online there are lots of places that call themselves tree service and they know how to hack trees. After this encounter, when he was so honest at what he advised what I do with my Hellri Holly, it didn't result in any further business for him, because my friend Jim had already cut the tree down and will be watching for those shoots so that we can limit it to one. I'm very grateful for what David has done. I was expecting to pay a pretty good price. I'm very satisfied with them. They're very professional and friendly.

Very well. David and his team are true professionals. They hauled off all of the debris and material, and left the yard spotless. I also had the stumps ground up from the maples and hollies, and the subcontractor they used for this did a great job.

Fine. Prompt with treatment in a couple days of accepting contract. Due to demand we scheduled cable boxing for the next month. Seems like it should save the tree. Time will tell. I hired Cortese based on their reputation locally. A little more than I wanted to pay, but wanted a professional arborist to examine the tree to see if it could saved. I have in the past called yellow page listed tree services and more than one of them didn't even know what an arborist was.

The service was excellent. The staff is great. Their philosophy is to keep the trees alive. They are really prompt. I really did not remember the cost. I was pleased with service.

Called the night before and scheduled service for 9:00 a.m. Arrived around 8:50 a.m. Pruned all three trees per our desires. Cleaned up and took away all branches, etc. Very polite and courtesy!

They were very knowledgeable and they knew what they were doing. They delivered on what they said they will do. They are a little high on price but it is worth it.

They were very professional and answered all my questions very knowledgibly and completely. Work was performed when they promised. My yard was completely cleaned when they left.

They did a great job. My oak tree is close to 200 yrs old and this is the 2nd time I have had them come in and trim the tree. They cut limbs off that were getting close to my house and some low hanging limbs that needed to be trimmed up so the lawn people could cut my lawn easier. My ash tree was deseased, while getting the estimate they cut a branch off and showed my where the bugs were. After discussing the costs I chose to have the tree cut down. They were on time and cleaned up all the debris before they left. I am very happy with there work and will use them again if the need arises.

I had a tree that was uprooted in a wind storm. They came out and removed the tree. I would highly recommend them.

Fallen tree was blocking driveway. They responded quickly removed tree and trimmed others. They cut trees with appearance in mind and cleaned up work site.

The service turned out very well. They were able to save the tree. They did a great clean-up job as well.

When they came to explain everything they were excellent. They told me everything I needed to know about the trees. And I plan on using them when I have the work done.

We just did not end up using them because of the price.

I made an inquiry through their website & was contacted promptly by phone. I was concerned about the health & growth habit of a large river birch in our back yard. We had it pruned by another tree company several years ago and while we were happy with their work, we noticed that the growth of limbs & branches on the tree were "abnormal" since being pruned. We wanted a tree company that has knowledge about tree growth & care. Dan made an appt to come look at the tree. He was prompt & professional and addressed all my concerns. He explained why the tree was growing this way & how it needed to be trimmed. He also recommended growth regulator which would keep the tree from becoming too large for its space. The growth regulator was applied in early December. The pruning was supposed to have taken place the end of December or beginning of January, but was delayed due to the inclement weather we have had all winter. Tom called the afternoon before they came out. He said they would arrive between 12-1pm, which they did. They were professional and tidy and the tree looks great! Their price was a little higher than that of a "regular" tree company I got a quote from, but we were happy to pay more for their expertise. Will definitely use them again.

Not well. Did not trim the tree the way I wanted. Tree specialist spent most of the time talking about his life. I ended up cutting off the branches I could reach.

Good profession job on budget on schedule

It went very well. I had used Cortese for work on my old oak tree several years before and liked the work they had done then. I had first contact Cortese in the late summer and they came out and gave me an estimate. They also told me at that time they were backed up with work from the hail storm earlier in the year. We agreed on a time that they could do the work, several months down the road, but I was not in a hurry so that was OK. They called when they said they would so that we could plan on a date to get the work done. They came in the morning so that we could discuss the work and then I left for my job. I got a call in the afternoon that they were done and to ask me if they could leave the wood from the oak tree because one of my neighbors had asked for it. The removed the wood from the ash tree because they were afraid it was infested. Overall I was well pleased with their work and will use them again if necessary.
