Great difficulty getting information about installing the internet. I got different answers from different departments. An appointment was made in one department and I never knew an appointment was made. I had made an appointment with another department. I was told to call different departments where I got different answers to the same question. One department does not seem to know what the other department is doing. Customer Service is not good. The technician preformed his part of the installation ok.

I've always been with Comcast. When they first came to this county, they never did install. They just hooked it up. They didn't come inside and put a jack in the wall yet they were supposed to. They didn't come when they were supposed to and then one cable line had been run through a window. So you couldn't lock that window. We complained about it but they did nothing. They guy who came out even broke a statue I had on my TV and drilled a hole in the wall and stuck the cable line through it. Water comes in through that same hole when it rains.

Internet is almost a necessity. When will it become cost effective and reliable?
Description of Work: This is my internet provider. They lure you in with a low price and then the price continues to go up as the months go by. Occasionally the service will go down.

Chat went ok but year in and out the service becomes more expensive and the game is you get an upgrade you don't want or need to get the price lower then 6 months go by and now your paying the premium price you call them again and the same thing happens so you just keep paying more and more. In 2008 we paid $99 at start of service with phone, internet and cable TV. Now in 2014 we are paying $179 and we are maxed out of upgrades so in 6 months we will have to pay approx. $230 a month. We will have to dump Comcast at that point because we just can't afford to pay this amount monthly.
Description of Work: Called Comcast phone lines were not working ended up chat communication to get changes made to current service.

Still waiting on response from Comcast. This ex[erience reminded me of why I left them for Direct TV 18 months ago.
Description of Work: I currently only have internet with Comcast. Back in March I called for pricing on TV and they slapped a bundle package on my bill without authorization. They claim to have sent equipment and I have service. I would not have accapted and equipment. I still have satellite and am under contract with them. I was simply calling for pricing for when the contract expires in September. I'vee always paid bill thru bank so rearely did I visit web site. When I did visit the site I was suprised to see I was $200+ past due. On 6/13 I called to complain I was on the phone combined nearly 45 minutes and they say they have to get back with me. I haven't heard from them yet.

Comcast has continued to fail in it's customer service. Whenever calls are made, we repeatedly get transfered, avoided, disconnecte prior to resolution, long waits, etc... No one seems to know what they are doing, and can't appropriately answer questions. When starting our service originally the technician did not show up on date promised to start service. When we called the customer service department to check on why the tech did not show, we were told the appointment was not scheduled for today, it was scheduled for a different day. I know that I didn't schedule for the day they proposed was the original appointment, because I have to work that day, and would not have done that. When tech arrived for appointment, he was not prepared to make cable available in all the rooms we had originally requested. We were advised another appointment (and service fee) would be necessary. We still do not have HD service which we were promised would be included, and it is months later. A contractor in the are hit the cable line and severed all service. When trying to report this problem we called 3 times each time someone told us that they would report the problem, but when we called back to check on progress... no report had been filed. Once an ACTUAL report was made, we were told it would be 5 days before the first available appointment for repair. I am still waiting. When 5 days are up, who knows if our service will be restored. Each time customer service is contacted, you must be prepared to wait for extended periods of time, and call back repeatedly to ensure that the representative has handled your issue.

This company has been very frustrating to deal with. Their prices are crazy high. All I want is basic high speed internet service. Had to have tv to get a discount. I dont ever use the tv, I have tv with another company. In spite of all that, they just keep raising the price and service is non existant. ZERO ability to call them. Waited online to chat for 20 mins still no response. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
Description of Work: The price goes up monthly. Get tv with internet they said, its cheaper!! Why it went up $30.00 this month. Dont use the tv at all. Horrible customer service, they never answer, busy signal or switch back to the menu every time. Service doesnt work upstairs in spite of call after call! Terrible.

They are really outrageously priced for what we get. This is supposed to be a given service; but out of 12 months, we pay 12 different prices each month that is ridiculous. We don't order movies or anything else. We should be paying the exact same thing every month, but we are not. Probably 3 or 4 times a year, we need to call them and correct their billing because their billing is incorrect that makes us crazy. Their responsiveness is not bad. They will always answer the phone and they will always send somebody out. Sometimes, we have to wait for a while and sometimes, we have to be on the phone for a while. We have sat waiting in the queue for 45 minutes and that's not exceedingly responsive. The personnel are great. The people we talk to are always polite. They try their best to help us. The people that come out, do a good job are nice. We will use them only because we don't have a choice.

As far as the work goes, they don't ever know what is doing what and when they come out here. No one knows how to fix anything. I don't know what you have for cable service at home but God help you if you have Comcast. They do come on time. When we were remodeling, it took 4 visits to find someone to move a wire from one side of my kitchen to the other. In this area, we definitely need some competition for Comcast for sure.

It was difficult to even understand several of the operators as they were in the Philippines. No one could give me a reason why the bill went from 111.89 to 159.00 and then proceeded to tell me I needed to pay 2 months in advance instead of one month. We had been customers for over 6 years and this past year I have had to make over 10 calls about incorrect bill amounts.
Description of Work: Comcast will overprice on their bills. You have to be very careful or you will be paying for services you did not order. If you call you will most likely be routed to the Philippines as one telephone operator told me. After 4 unsuccessful calls my problem still is not resolved. Each operator told me something different and when they looked at my bill it was different than the one I had on my online account. Buyer BEWARE. Check your bill carefully.

The last time that I used them, they did not charge me anything because it was a problem from their side; when it is their problem, they do not charge anything. I think they are over-priced but they are the only place to get what I need.

Other than the price Comcast Knoxville is a pretty decent service. I guess they are responsive other than having to wait on the phone. They are now selling insurance and will charge you unless you have the insurance. It is another money making gimmick. We have been transferred around when we call and my wife has been on the phone with them for hours and then will be cut off. We will probably switch service if we can find a better package.
Description of Work: We have a bundle deal with Comcast Knoxville for our landline phone service, internet, and television. We last dealt with them when our wireless router went down.

Our church moved to a new location on December 17. This location is approx 1 mile away from our former church building. It's over a month later and we still do not have working telephones. Church staff have made several attempts to get this resolved but Comcast is ignoring our situation. If you are in Knoxville and have another option other than Comcast for your business, church, etc. I would definitely consider the other provider. It's terrible to have a company hold your needs hostage!

When it is working it is fine but if something goes wrong then it is a hassle to get Comcast Cable Co. for servicing. They compensated it in the next bill for the inconvenience caused.

I spend a lot of money, it was a fortune, and I hate them. The service is very poor, if the cable goes out, the phone goes out. Often times the TV is working which means the cable is obviously working, but the internet is down and the phone is down, and this happens quite a bit and it's annoying. They're not very responsive, and when the bill is wrong they're not responsive. It's priced far too high for what you're getting. The quality of the phone service is not good as it is with a land line.

They are a cable company; what's to like or not like, we are kind of roped into what we got. My overall experience is okay. I don’t have any comparison for the price. I get good pictures and good connectivity most of the time. They are pretty responsive. They are here when they say they are going to be here; of course when they have a five-hour window it's hard not to be punctual.

Overall I'm pleased with the technician's work. Unfortunately, the CS at HQ is pretty ineffective. Oh, and have you navigated their horrible, horrible parking lot and its 5 (yes, FIVE) separate entries and egresses????? I had absolutely NO idea where to go to get back to Knoxville proper upon leaving. The worst traffic design I have ever seen.
Description of Work: Service contractor installed the cable inet modem on existing cable coax wiring. Telephone service is through the cable modem - not through a wall jack. Cutting corners on what Comcast will pay techs to do... in Eugene, OR we had all of our WALL jacks in the house working while also using the same Comcast cable modem JUST for inet connections. But the real beef was customer service's inability to contact the tech (several HOURS before 5PM on the same day as the service) to stop the payment for the instalation with a check from an emptied but not yet closed-out account in Oregon. I needed to replace the Oregon check with a local one with sufficient funds in the account but was told 3 different stories on whether that could be done (a "probably not," a "sure, come on down with your check", and finally a "no, sorry") with the final word being that Comcast couldn't contact the tech somehow, the tech had "probably" already put the check into a safe that couldn't be opened, and that once in the safe the check would be processed normally. This all meant we would get a $20 overdraft fee for my writing the check from the bank and then a $30 fee for a returned check from Comcast. $50 in fees on a $50 check! I couldn't even stop the processing of the OR $50 check by paying the $50 installation charge right then and essentially having no charge on my account until the end of the month (and, in my mind, making the processing of the OR check unnecessary). Ended up paying the $50 install charge in person at HQ, then transferring $50 to the OR bank to cover the check I wrote earlier in the day in case they did go ahead and process it. This at a cost of $4 from my local bank as well as confusion and frustration by all of us. I will say that customer service was polite and cordial throughout. They just seem to have no ability to do anything financially. But, then, I also have to wonder how a communications company can't reach one of their own techs during business hours....

It's a lot to with their customer service, or lack there of it. I think they feel as if they think they have a monopoly on the service in my area, if we have a problem they just don't respond. They say they will, but they never do anything. If my payment is late, they tack on extra charges, if I need their help, they dismiss me. I feel irrelevant when it comes to their service. I spoke with someone there three times that day. I ended up fixing my own cable service; the modem battery needed to be replaced. I have a service agreement with them, yet they fail to live up to it.

The service person arrived at the end of the allotted 4 hour time frame, but did call before coming. He spent a long time on hold waiting to get the phone and internet service connected. The phone began failing after 24 hours and worked less than 50% of the time. The internet worked less than 20% of the time. They said the internet problem might have to do with the Apple wireless router being used. We replaced the router with their first choice, a Linksys wireless g router. Comcast replaced their modem, splitter, and all inside wiring. Each visit, the service person said that the signal strength was weak. After the most recent replacement, the phone works 80% of the time, but the internet works less than 20% of the time. The television service has always worked perfectly. We have been at this for five months without internet service and are moving to another company. Slow service with DSL is better than no service with Comcast.
Description of Work: Comcast installed the triple play package of TV, High Speed Internet, and Phone Service. The TV service included a DVR. This was being done in a high end apartment complex with existing cable coax wiring.
