I requested a price quote several months ago and due to special order doors, it took months to get an estimate. With order issues for the desired doors (no fault of Richard's), he kept me updatedon options and eventually he proposed other doors. Once we decided on the doors, it took a few weeks to get scheduled. Richard did the installations himself and took a few partial days and a few full days to complete (including Saturday). The work was completed with good quality and status updates. Even a few minor adjustments were made as needed. Upon identification of additional rotted areas, Richard reviewed and proposed solutions. This was appreciated as it required quite a bit of extra work and time. He took his time and ensured satisfaction. At completion, he reviewed and discussed maintenance. I would definitely use Chapman again, as Richard differentiates his company through quality work at a good price.

The property on which we had the work performed is a rental property FAR from where we actually live, and after our initial meetings with Richard (the owner of Chapman), all business was conducted over the telephone until the final inspection just after completion. We met with Richard twice before actually signing a contract and he thoroughly explained the job and how it was going to be performed. He answered questions completely and in a way we could understand. His demonstration of how well the windows were insulated was particularly eye-opening. He made suggestions concerning specifics (in particular the color of the siding) about which we were initially skeptical but his suggestions turned out to be right on target. The siding color goes extremely well with the rest of the house--particularly the large deck in the back. Aside from quickly returning our calls, Richard called us from time to time just to keep us up-to-date with the project, which was performed exactly on our timetable. (We wanted to make arrangements to be there to inspect the job at completion--and his timing was PERFECT!) Regarding the specifics of the job Chapman did: snags were smoothed over quickly and quite satisfactorily. Workers fixed some rotted wood in the chimney that an earlier contractor had neglected to properly address--and when an ant infestation was discovered, proper arrangements were made to co-ordinate with the pest control company. Given our nightmarish history with home contractors over the years, my wife and I would have been okay with a decently performed job without too many headaches. As it turns out, we are very pleased with the job Chapman did. The house looks beautiful, the bid was very competitive, the work was performed perfectly on our schedule, and Richard was personable and very responsive to our questions and concerns. We absolutely would contract Chapman again if the need arose. Perhaps we will get lucky and Chapman will expand into doing some of the many other services that from time to time need to be done around the house! I haven't been able to get ahold of Chapman Window and Siding about filling out the paperwork about replacing the windows and giving that to the Tennesse Valley Energy so they can give me the rebate.

Installer worked hard and did a great job. Would definitely recommend. Only drawback was siding had to be ordered and supplier would not ship until they had a full load. So we waited about 3 months foob to start.
