The guy, Steve, was on time, professional, knew his equipment he was checking out, fixed what had stopped working and wrote up a bill and took the check. Both units were checked over. I was totally satisfied with this appointment and was glad I found them on Angie's list.

Our upstairs air conditioning/heating unit, which was 15 years old (and also purchased from Chancey and Reynolds) began to show signs of wear. I called Chancey and Reynolds late in the afternoon on a Monday, and they were at my house the following day. They found that the unit had freon leaks, and the outside compressor unit needed some major work. Considering the age of the air conditioner, we decided to replace it with a new unit. We arranged for them to return the following Tuesday to install the new unit. The two technicians who worked on the installation were at our house for about eight hours. They made sure to put down drop cloths and they did not leave any mess behind. I am always concerned when I have any kind of work done on the second floor of my house because I worry that my wood stairs will be scratched or chipped. This was not a problem this time. We have used Chancey and Reynolds for our HVAC service for approximately 22 years, and will continue to do so.

The crew arrived as scheduled and went to work right away. They first rang the doorbell to introduce themselves and to announce their plans. All members of the crew were friendly and courteous. They immediately went to work and stayed focus on the job until it was finished. They paid particular attention to details and were determined that we get a quality installation. In the course of three days the job was completed and we were instructed on how the new system, including the new thermostat, worked. Following completion, the installation was inspected by a representative of the Utility Company who approved of the work. To our surprise, a representative from Chancey & Reynolds came for the inspection and answered all questions raised by the inspector. All in all we are very pleased with our new system and feel we indeed received a quality product and installation. We highly recommend Chancey & Reynolds as a professional and quality organization.

Neil did a great job on the initial estimate noting things that could be changed to help add cooling to my upstairs including changing out the registers to more efficiently move the air. My cabin has high ceilings with tall windows upstairs facing east and gets filled with sunshine in the summer heating the upstairs faster than the downstairs. My old unit was not able to keep up with the heat and upstairs was always too warm. Neil noted that a 2.5 ton unit vs a 2.0 ton would better handle the upstairs and that coupled with the new register configuration will keep the upstairs cooler. I had one day for the install as I live in Nashville and the crew showed up on time and pulled the old unit, set the new unit, adjusted it and cleaned up with the job completed by 2:30 pm. The initial job was completed in October. As the weather turned cooler I learned that the heat pump was not keeping up with the temperature drops and there was several degrees between the set temperature and the actual temperature. I call Chancey & Reynolds and explained to them that I was coming up for Thanksgiving weekend and only had that Friday to be there for the repairman. Even though they were closed Black Friday they said they would send the on call repairman. He showed up as promised, adjusted the thermostat settings and the heating issue was corrected. This transaction from the time of the quote to the final adjustment of the thermostat was a very good experience.

I purchased my heat and air system from Chancey and Reynolds many years ago and have had excellent service from them. They are very fast whenever I have needed them. When I needed to add a humidifier they were both fast and fair in my installation.

I called Neil for service on Friday the 14th Feb around noon. Snow on the ground, he managed to get a serviceman here about 6PM, Brian the serviceman was very polite, professional looking. (no baggy pants as some contractors) He said he would have to come back Monday morning so he could do more checks to get proper parts. When he came he found the problem quickly and started looking for a new coil. I called Neil and told him what I had been told by Brian, Neil got the ball rolling and they called on Tues. to schedule when to come put in a complete new unit. The crew who came to do the replacement were polite, put on slippers before entering the house, tested new unit both on heat & cool. No way could I be more satisfied with the service from Chancey & Reynolds. Their should be more contractors like them. I also asked both serviceman Brian & install crew how long they had been with Chancey--many years which shows if an employer treats his people right they will do a good job and stay for long time employment. The only reason I showed a B on quality was the unit failed so early in its life. The quality of the work done at my home was excellent.

Chancey and Reynolds is NOT dentist. They are a plumbing company.

Just recently in the cold weather, we had major issues with the system. They were prompt in diagnosing the issue and quickly scheduled an install of a new system. They are a very professional company to work with.

We have used Chancey and Reynolds for 16 years. They have always been very responsive to our service needs and have provided quality service. We have used their 24 hour day service several times over the years. Everyone has always been very professional and helpful. When it came time to get a new unit, we didn't even consider going with anyone else!! We feel that we have always had a great product, too. Thanks for all the great customer service!

While this review may sound like one that Chancey & Reynolds (C&R) may have written themselves, I assure you they did not. I could not have been more impressed with the professionalism, responsiveness, value or flexibility of each representative of C&R with whom I interacted. I waited to write this review until the last action item, delivery of my rebate check, was complete. I just received that ? about three weeks earlier than expected. I had a 4T Trane gas pack that lasted probably three years longer than the Trane design engineers intended. It finally produced its last joule of heat in early November 2013. I decided to request an estimate from each of the top four HVAC contractors on Angie?s List for our area. I met individually with each of the three contractors who legitimately responded. I use the word ?legitimately? because one contractor sent a service technician to ?collect the information? for someone else to use in preparing a cost estimate ?back at the office?. I ruled them out almost immediately. Of the remaining three, one ?no bid? because they didn?t have anyone small enough to work in my crawl space (hey, it?s east TN!) and one submitted a bid that was higher for an inferior product line. The third was C&R who I eventually selected. From the start, C&R was head and shoulders above the rest. My initial contact was with Neil Rasor who arrived in a clean vehicle; was very organized; did a thorough walk down of my property; took the time to listen to me as I described issues we had in heating/cooling the house over the years; and then discussed possible solutions with me that addressed my concerns. I promptly received a cost estimate that laid out two courses of action, both of which represented effective solutions to the issues we had discussed. I eventually went with the more expensive solution proposed by Neil. While it was more expensive, Neil reduced the cost impact by passing back to me a $1000 rebate offered by the equipment manufacturer. We scheduled the job for mid-November. The C&R crew arrived on time on the day schedule and ready to get to work. About 90 minutes into the job, the crew foreman came to my door and advised me that they had encountered a skunk sitting on top of the return air duct under our house. Their assessment was that the skunk was not inclined to back down. They had extended a tape measure along the top of the duct in the skunk?s direction. Rather than retreat, the skunk ?charged? them with a hiss. Instead, the C&R crew retreated (who could blame them!), and they suspended the job until I could get a varmint control contractor out there. I called Classic Wildlife Control, another outstanding contractor (see separate review on them), and they had the skunk out of their in about four days. Unfortunately, after the skunk was eradicated, C&R was further delayed by heavy rains that hit and the Thanksgiving break. But the entire time, Neil Rasor stayed in contact, remained very flexible with me and very accommodating. Eventually, another C&R crew was able to complete the job. Neil?s proposed solution has worked great and the issues we discussed have been mitigated. As I mentioned before, I have been waiting to write his review just to see if the last action item, delivery of my rebate check, would be completed as advertised. Indeed it was, and three weeks early. If you want to work with the best residential HVAC contractor in the Knox County area, then call C&R. They are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. But if you are looking for a great value proposition, I can?t imagine you?ll be disappointed with C&R.

Prompt proving and estimate...only provider out of several that actually provided a written estimate with all the detailed equipment and costs listed. Did adequate work to learn from existing set-up what could be improved in terms of ductwork changes and size of the AC unit. Prompt to schedule an appointment for installation and good communication of how the install would go and what equipment we would be getting....always called back when messages were left. Install team came out on time and they worked hard and listened to my feedback about how to protect our hardwood floors; how to make sure the lines were properly flushed and leaks were checked for; didn't mind my overseeing all key facets of the install; they got it all done in a day and it has been functioning great for both heat and cold since the install. Pricing was great for such an established contractor and the quality of the Rheem equipment and their knowledge of it was second to none. I especially liked how we worked to improve upon my existing set-up based upon our prior experience with that older unit....they made the right balance to use upgraded AC parts for the upstairs where cooling is most critical but saved me money going with a lesser furnace since heating my upstairs has never been a struggle. I missed where they ran one wire outside which could have been more hidden and they placed a piece of old equipment that was leaking oil on my nice lawn and killed the grass underneath...that is the only reason I rated them B for quality.

The existing system consisted of two complete furnaces and air conditioners. One for the main floor and one for the walk out basement. The system was replaced with a single two zone dual fuel system (Heat pump and LP furnace). The duct work at the furnace junction on the old system was rather poorly designed and really an eyesore for all the 17 years. Chancey/Reynolds did a complete re-design and provided a extremely neat replacement. The technicians were very dedicated and did a first class job. The price from Chancey/Reynolds was really competitive and I compared bids from four different contractors for the job. I selected them based on product ratings that I researched on the web. Rheem was the highest rated system and the bid received from Chancey/Reynolds was the lowest. In summary, a professional and very neat install, from a cost competitive company with, responsive, courteous skilled employees.

Called four contractors on angies list chauncey and reynolds was by far the cheapest.Units were installed in less than a day in a professional maner.

It is so nice to work with a locally owned company. We have had only excellent service from them. The service tech who comes to clean and check our unit is friendly and helpful. He is always on time, neatly dressed and very competent. He is careful to check everything and report back to us when he is finished. I cannot say enough good things about this company. We are lucky to have a company like Chancy and Reynolds in Knoxville.

Neil Rasor spent about 2 hours looking at old system, checking vents and understanding what we wanted. He was here as promised on time, identified himself. We made a through walk through and then he did a lot of checking on his own. He then went to office and worked me up 3 quotes on different price/seer units. I specified I did want an Apriliar air cleaner & a UV light. I picked the 16 seer as I expect to live in this house for quite some time and if we did sell it would have an up to date seer rating. Michael the installer arrive on time, was polite and professional, he ran into a problem on the new ducting and made a call for assistance which came from Knoxville within 2 hours, they needed to fab a new piece at the shop so Michael & his helper continued on with other things. Next morning Michael arrived with new metal venting put into place and proceeded to finish job. They cleaned up all of their mess at end of each day. All involved were pleasant to work with and I highly recommend them. I had 3 different contractors come out for this job, 1 only stayed about 10 min so I new he had not analyzed the job. I said he could quote me on the phone didn't need to come out--how can you look at doing an$8000. job without seeing it. Beware of those who can quote you a low ball price on the phone--I am sure you will get a surprise somewhere in the job and they will say oh I failed to catch that.

Very well. Brad Chancey came to home. His knowledge and professionalism were obvious after a few minutes. Estimate was received as promised. His crew was punctual and thorough during the entire installation process. I would recommend anduse this company in the future. Very satisfied.

To start, I need to say that Chancey & Reynolds were fine, and I'm not sure anyone else would have done as well for the price. I have good, competent AC that doesn't drip, and the heating unit tested well. It is clear, however, that there were some communication and planning issues between the initial estimator/sales person and the actual installation crew. Essentially, my HVAC was over 20 years old, and installed into a house built by the previous owners who..."had a lot of better ideas" about home construction. In a nutshell, this was going to be a challenging piece of work for anyone. It took them two days to complete the job, and a lot of quiet, polite...exclamations. Ever professional, they never actually said anything negative to me directly, but it was clear from what I overheard that the estimator/salesperson did not spec out the job as completely as the installation crew would hope. The two main problems I overheard had to do with measurements/size, and ducting layout. The hole up into my attic was too small for the unit, and they had to remove my entire pull down stairs unit - frame and all - in order to get the new unit out (and it was still a VERY tight fit). They replaced the stairs, but it looks a little worse for wear (given, it looked a bit beat to begin with). Also, the ducting was old and not ideally laid out, and they had to call in a consultant to determine how to hook up the system effectively - which seemed to involve creating some custom joins between the unit and our existing ducting. No additional charges were added for all that extra work, the guys remained friendly and professional, and we had planned on possibly 2 days off from work to be home for the guys, so overall, I think they did a good job, with room for improvement. My only lingering worry is that I may not be getting the best performance from this system because of my ductwork - and I'd have liked to discuss that with someone. When asked if we needed to replace ducting, the installation guys said, 'Oh that's not us mam, you'll need to call the office for that." I can plan and budget for that improvement, but I need info to do so. Oh and they put a marketing sign in my yard...which I didn't mind at all, but I would have liked to have been asked.

Went extremely well. Technician was very knowledgeable and professional. Took care of everything including scheduling a duct cleaning service. Very happy with the outcome.

I call Chancey and Reynolds to quote on an additional ac unit for my home. After investigating my system they determined my existing blower wasn't putting out enough air. In about 5 minutes Chancey and Reynolds changed my blower settings back to factory specs and eliminated the need for an additional system. They repaired my old system at no cost instead of selling me an unneeded additional system. Such service and integrity is hard to find these days.

They wouldn’t returned calls, this was a recurring problem When I did speak with someone they were unhelpful and didn’t seem to care They tech they sent were not polite, nice or professional When I requested no to have that tech returned, they sent him anyway One tech tried to sell me very expensive cleaning machine for my air, and try to pressure me into purchasing so he could get the credit. Their pricing was unreasonable. I decided to find another company to service my HVAC unit

Not a lot to explain, I had previously called them to fix an old thermostst and they replaced it with a simple but high tech instrument which tells me what I need to kow abpit my HVAC system. Thats when I reserved a spot for them to clean the outside unit. I'm getting along in years and I don't attemp to do some things by myself that were all easier for me a few years back. I do lots of research when I want things done and I watch out for crooks.
