They were professional at all times. We had bids from other companies, and their price was a couple of thousand dollars less for a quality product. Communication was always clear and they cleaned up carefully when done. We highly recommend.

Initially when they removed the old heatpump unit there was some rot with the existing home. They had to stop work until the situation was fixed. Being a structural engineer, I was able to fix the problem within a day. They were able to come back the next day and complete the installation. I very much appreciated them returning the next day. The installation looked very good and professional and all debris was removed from the site. The main person installed a new thermostat within the home which did not cover the old area where the existing had been and a two toned wall area was visible. He went to his truck and came back with a larger backplate for the new thermostat which did cover the two tone wall area. This was a nice touch. Everything started up well with no problems.

They were very professional, came on time, returned several times to fine-tune the air flow to the upstairs and added several dampers where needed. We had just moved to Knoxville at the end of May 2014 and solely relied upon Angie's List to choose a heating and AC company. We read positive reviews on this company, and some said the prices were somewhat high. That is what we experienced. Several people said we could have spent about $2000 less for what we had done to the house with other contractors. We have a smaller 1940's 'cottage' home, around 1440 sq. feet.

First was a service call by Brian. He was incredibly knowledgeable and showed me I needed a brand new unit. He even gave me a work around so that I could have air conditioning until they could get out to replace the unit. We were able to schedule an installation crew out within three days. The installation crew was led by John, who was very professional and helpful, as were his crew. The workmanship was top notch and thorough. They kept the area clean and it was clean when they left. As an architect, I am very picky about how things are done, and I have absolutely no complaints about their service. I am sure I could have gotten done for a little less money, but given the equipment (Rheem), the installation, the warranty and the energy savings (this unit is twice as efficient as my old contractor's grade unit), I feel it was worth every penny and then some. I highly recommend this company for both maintenance and replacement work for your heat and air.

I contacted four HVAC companies for bids, 1 never returned my phone call and 2 wanted several thousand dollars more for comparable name-brand units. C&R's bid even included some extra work like replacing the old electrical disconnect and copper refrigerant lines that the other more expensive bids did not include. Their salesman was the only one that seemed knowledgeable about the industry and wasn't just reading prices out of a notebook; it took a day to get several custom quotes back via email and then several days after that equipment brochures arrived in the mail. Scheduling was easy and the install crew came out within a week. Installation took a full day for the 3-man crew, all the tools and supplies were on-hand and ready. All aspects of the install were neat and orderly. I am pleased with the work and recommend them without reservation.

I was very impressed with the extensive planning the gentleman had done in locating where the vents would be located. Our house never had duct work so it took some planning. They installed 2 complete HVAC units with duct work. The installers were very professional.

They are easy to schedule and they always show up on time. They are respectful of my home and they put little booties on their feet before entering.

They were on time when they said they would be. I really enjoyed working with them. Hopefully, I do not have to use them anymore in the future as extensive as that was, but if I need another central heating and air unit, I would probably go with them since I have already been pleased with the service.

We didn't go with them. They came out and gave me the first estimate but the warranty was not what I wanted. I don't have any issues at all. They were very good.

I called late in the day and they were able to schedule an appointment for me the next day on a rental home we own. They called me when they were on their way to the home and after they had made their assessment. They got the unit running for the occupant, but let me know of the repair that needed to occur to prevent this from happening again. They called me later to let me know the part was in, which was only 1 day, and called to let me know the price, which we thought was very reasonable for what they had to do. We have used this company in the past and they have always been very responsive, on time, and have done what they promise.

They were very professional from the request for estimate till end of job. Crew were courteous and completed the job in one day. They sent follow-up letter of thanks and to make sure we were happy with the work.

We were familiar with them because of work that was done at our business location. At home, a twenty year old system that had been installed as part of an addition finally failed and was not repairable. They had provided service for it in the past even though they did not install it originally. (They did install a system in another part of our house several years ago.) They provided us with a proposal identifying 3 different levels of systems and did not pressure us when we decided on the least expensive system. Installation was as scheduled and done neatly and efficiently. The technicians were professional, friendly and pleasant to be around. They answered questions and met every expectation. After removing the old system and after the installation was completed, they left our property neat as a pin, with not so much as a loose washer laying around. They came back after about 2 weeks to answer a question about the ductwork which was resolved completely satisfactorily. We would heartily recommend them to anyone who needs this service. They may not be the cheapest solution available, but they provide excellent value through service and reliability.

Refused to even come out to look at the job because I didn't purchase the unit from them and said, "I haven't heard of that brand, and it might be an unreliable unit or hard to put in." It was a brand new Pioneer split system ductless heat/air system. Not very complicated job. Not a good way to treat customers.

When the upstairs unit suddenly stopped cooling, I didn't panic ? I called Chancey and Reynolds. Because of a similar problem approximately 10 years ago at a previous address to their fall and spring check-ups they have always provided professional, prompt, and courteous service; this time was no different. When I first called them I thought it would be a relatively service call to add coolant to the unit, but it soon turned into a more serious problem. Here's my point: Had any other company presented the same scenario I would have been very concerned, skeptical, and doubtful, but with C&R I had complete trust as they reviewed my options.. In fact I even had second thoughts and expressed my concerns the morning they were scheduled to perform the service. This conversation ultimately led to the decision to replace the unit. This is a decision made from trust and confidence in Chancey and Reynolds.

Brad and his crews were punctual, professional and courteous. They were the first ones I contacted at the beginning of our project and based on our first meeting and the reviews I had seen on Angies' list I did not shop any further. Chancey and Reynolds provided great service. The technician called prior to coming to the house to allow us time to get to the house and meet them there without having to wait all day at the house and miss work. On the second visit when we were unable to meet them at the house they still came out and serviced the unit and took care of the problem.

My home is 8 years old and when I bought it I knew full well that the Gas Furnaces and HVAC Systems in general were contractor grade. When the downstairs heat ex-changer perforated, I had a decision to make. Fix it and hope the rest of the system holds together or fix the whole problem, which was the junk units. Not wanting to get "nickled and dimed" to death over the next few years, suffering from outages at the worst times (which has happened to me) I took advantage of the TVA Energy program that allowed me to convert to Heat Pumps and finance it into my utility bill. The folks at Chancey & Reynolds offered the best overall value. The estimator spent several hours calculating what system I needed, not just replacing the current units with like for like, which some company's did. I had 4 quote my needs. I felt comfortable with the final bid from Chancy & Reynolds, and comfortable with the schedule of the work they promised to have done by certain dates. The work crew was very careful of our personal possessions, covering items up when going in and out of the attic, and not leaving trash in the yard as work progressed. They wore "booties" to keep mud off of our floors. They also installed the thermostats we bought from Lowe's and made sure they were up and working at completion of the job. When the TVA inspector came back a week later Chancey & Reynolds had the appropriate level of supervisor there to make sure that adjustments, which were few, could be made then and there without having to reschedule to another date. The job was then completed, paperwork was signed, and our system has worked quite nicely since then and we are very pleased.

On 3/24 Neil came to my house and estimated cost of replacing HVAC. He thought original ductwork should be installed differently for more efficiency and also thought I would be better off with a 4 ton air conditioner. This is after he did an inspection and we talked for a little bit. He seemed rushed and when he got my email address assumed I was married and I think he thought he should be speaking with my husband and not me. ( Being an older widow sometimes leads people to believe you aren't capable.) He sent an estimate for two different units, the Rheem Prestige which was considered the best and a less expensive model which was not two-stage and which was not 4 ton. I called Neil and told him I had decided on the best unit. After he learned that it was just me buying this unit, he did apologize for his mistaken belief about a husband. He said he would send two teams the next day, April 15th, and the installation would take one day. I told him I had an Angies coupon for the April airfilter so it would be included in the materials he sent out. I should mention that I got three estimates for different types of HVAC systems, but before having the estimates done, I did many hours of research online. Without mentioning what I knew about SEER factors, tonnage and EER numbers, I let the men who did the estimates tell me what they thought. I read numerous reviews about the different systems I was considering and what the pros and cons of each system meant to the consumer. From speaking with friends and relatives I got ballpark figures on what the price should be. The next morning at 8:15 Mike came to the door, introduced himself and his team who were Chris, Jay, and Kevin. Jim arrived a little later and said he was a supervisor. The men worked well together and seemed very efficient. They removed and hauled away the old furnace in my garage and the outside air conditioner. They removed some of the old ductwork and installed a new design so that the airflow would be more efficient. Mike had to come in several times to check where the ductwork went to the upstairs. He was always polite and wore covers on his shoes. Late in the afternoon Neil came by to say that he had given the men the original numbers he estimated and had left off the space where the April airfilter goes. Since it was supposed to go down to 28 degrees that night, and the work would not be finished as they had planned in one day, he brought space heaters to place around inside my house to be sure I would be warm enough. They set them up and explained how they worked. Mike and the other guys were back by 8 a.m. the next morning. They worked all day getting the unit working, checking it all out, changing out my thermostats (I have a three zone house.) Mike explained the new thermostats, tried them out with the unit on several times and then he and the other guys cleaned up everything really well. I was worried about flat tires from the metal pieces (nails?) on the garage floor, but they had a special magnet like thing that picked every thing up. All of the refuse was taken away. My electric bill hasn't been different yet, but I've only gotten one since the installation and we have had some really hot weather the past month. I have also had some company. I called about the maintenance plan available, but haven't heard yet how much I will need to spend on that or on the air filter, which must be changed by them each year. I have noticed a huge difference in how well my house cools down now. Summarizing: I think the crew did a great job, were polite, hard-working and certainly thorough. I can't comment on whether this is the best system I could have purchased until I've had it longer and see how it holds up. I also can't comment on maintenance work or cost until I need that. I feel like I got a fair deal so far from a reputable company and a HVAC that's working well.
