Got 3 estimates. Certapro was the lowest by about 5%; very professional write-up of proposal. I was pleased with the way the work was done. I would use them again.

I used to paint houses professionally for 10 years. But as time marched on, I realized I could not paint this living room as I did not have a ladder tall enough or the gumption to do it. I looked on Angie's List to find someone who could do the work at a decent price and found CertaPro. Had them come out and do a bid and thought it was a fair price. They came in and repaired all the cracks, nail pops and sanded the walls down. Then they painted the ceiling and walls. I inspected their work and feel they did a great job. I wold definitely use them again!

Had estimate done no actual work was ever completed. Please see above for information. 6/21/13 I would like to respond to the company's comments on my review. First, I am not upset with them I was just blown away by their pricing and just wanted to let others know how the company does on estimates and prices. However after seeing how they like to lie in their responses to reviews I am upset. Yes, I do agree with them on why you get several estimates so that you can make an educated decision on who you want to go with and hope it's the right company you chose and a great job is done. However, I would like to correct them on a few things that were blatantly lied about in their comments. First, where they stated that they included all the washing/pressure washing, prep, etc. in the price and that it was clear in the proposal. That is not true. In the General Description for the work they were going to do was typed out word for word as: Painting to: Front decking/facia, railing, steps; Garage area decking/facia, steps; Back decking/facia, railing, steps, posts. So where in that description does it state that pressure washing or any prep work is to be included in their work? Second, the portion of the estimate that showed the pricing costs all it showed was written out exactly as: All labor, paint, materials: $4,250.00 Optional items: Promotion discount of ($500.00) Cash/Check discount of ($200.00) Total price of $3,550.00 So again I ask where does it show it was clearly listed in the estimate. It was not listed and it was never stated to me in any of the email or phone conversations I had with the representative I was in contact with. As for the company I went with, they were AWESOME!! They were true professionals and had certifications, insured, and did a great job! It was not cheap either, it was $2,000.00 for the job.

I searched Angie's List for a painter. I contacted three, one of those was CertaPro. I received quotes from all. All were within $200 of each other. I decided to go with CertaPro because of the quality of the paint they used and their professionalism. After talking with the CertaPro representative I called one of the individuals who provided one of the other quotes. I asked them what type of paint they would use and they related it was a mid-grade paint. I asked them how much their quote would increase if they used the premium paint that CertaPro quoted. They related it would increase the quote by about $200. This put their quote within $50 of CertaPro. I felt like CertaPro would be my choice because I believe in doing the job right the first time and that includes using quality products. I was not disappointed. CertaPro was accomodating while I made my paint decision. One the day the painting was to occur the crew, my representative, and the manager all showed up to ensure all was in order and ready to go. The painting crew was great, extremely clean, and thorough. I inspected the painting before they left with the crew leader and they immediately addressed a couple of minor things we spotted. They also let us know if we saw anything after they left they would be happy to return and address. Their work was completed in one day and everything was clean when they left. I received a follow up call from my representative to ensure I was happy with the work as well. I would most definitely use CertaPro again in the future and would highly recommend them to others.

Very professional. Estimator arrived exactly on time. Crew on time. Office staff responsive and on the ball. Paint crew did an excellent job. Good clean up. The company seems very interested in customer feedback. I called them back to do some more painting after the initial job. Pricing in line with other estimates. Overall great service.

Needed painting prior to moving in. CertPro was able to get out quick and did a great job.

I decided to have my great room painted professionally as I was uncomfortable on a ladder painting 25 ft high walls. First, a person came out and gave an estimate. Although I thought they would be more expensive, they were within $25 of another quote I had received. After I signed the contract, I was told I would be contacted the following date to set a time/date. It was actually 3 days later. The day of the painting they showed up early(!). We walked through the job and made sure we both understood what each other wanted. It took longer than I expected, however, they did an amazing job at detail (handrail going up the stairs was very difficult to access behind). Would definitely use this company again.

I have actually hired them for two separate painting projects at our home. Both jobs were done professionally, efficiently, extremely well done. The workers were always extremely polite, respectful, and very skilled! They weren't the cheapest of the painting companies I "interviewed" but I certainly got my money's worth. I will absolutely call them again when we have a painting project.

We were impressed w/estimator's professionalism and packet which included a detailed estimate and copy of the liscense and recommendations. He was willing to stay and answer all our questions. The power washing went without a problem. The two gentlemen who painted the house were neat and cleaned up afterwards. They were careful of our plants as they moved around the house doing their work which was completed in two days.

I called there office and an estimator came to my home and provided a written estimate. The employee also showed me their insurance certificate and business license. They began as promised and finished on schedule. The workers were professional and courteous. They were also competitively priced as I got 2 other estimates before selecting them.

They worked with us to strip old paint from our concrete porch and to apply new stain. The first attempt didn't work, and they came out to conference with us to suggest other methods. They did an excellent job and were very prompt and paid attention to detail and to clean up.

We had two major problems. It was very slick in places, and several children fell walking across it.. not running or horsing around. In places it was like ice. I told them about it, and they tried to explain it away....only when my husband questioned them were they "glad to fix it" They came back out and put more grit on it. It worked in places. The other problem was that bubbles kept popping up as it was drying. They were big gummy sticky bubbles. They told us that it was from the xylene base of the sealant. They came out several times . They sanded down the bubbles , and reapplied sealant. Still bubbled. They tried applying it at night so that it had a chance to dry in less severe temperatures , and not it direct sunlight. ... still bubbled. They had a representative from Sherman Williams paint company come out to look at it several times. They put duct tape and clear plastic patches around to check for moisture etc.... we got a big run around. At the same time we had another painter refinishing the wooden deck and he told them they had to pressure wash it under very high temperature and pressure to remove all the product they applied previously because it would not take on top of old sealant. He was right. It bubbled every time. On time 5 or 6 after applying it on a friday night, they came out saturday morning around 10:00 am to get paid. At that time there were no bubbles so i paid them. well, it bubbled again in the heat of the afternoon. i was tired of fooling with it , and asked my husband(soon to be ex) to contact them. He said he called them, nobody ever showed up again after being paid.My husband went to home depot and got extra grit and put it on himself. I would never use them again. I am sure this was out of their league of expertise , but my husband hired them , and they told him they could do the job. Wrong. They may be good at regular painting, but I will never know, I will never use them again. They sanded so much of the deck it is bare.... no sealant. We should have just left the deck alone. It was much better before they attempted to fix it. Very disappointed. I would put pictures on here, but I don't know how. I can email them to you of the bubbles, and final product if requested. response: yes the job was completed, inspected (early in the morning before the heat made it bubble, as previously stated) and unfortunately paid. certapro response said it was an "issue with substrate accepting product(older pool deck)...... the pool deck was only 3 years old....completed in july 2009.... work done in 2012.... that is an older deck? come on. if you feel comfortable with that as your response, as well as saying "the homeowner was attempting their own fixes which made the issue worse" that was after your several failed attempts to fix the problem that he put on his own grit from home depopt to keep people from falling while walking on slippery surface... whatever you have to tell yourself to make yourself feel justified is on you. as you say, " most contractors would not have spent a lot of time, energy and money correcting the issue long AFTER they had been paid....... you have taught me to not pay on anything until it is done correctly, and never again first thing in the morning before the sun is shining. you may have a 98% referral rating, but id be curious to know how many of those had to do with this sort of service. i would guess zero.

We like to do our on painting inside the house. However the foyer in our home is about 18 feet high and I was way too nervous about doing a good enough job to keep my wife happy while perched on a ladder that far from the floor. We obtained quotes from 3 companies and selected CertaPro because they had a competitive price, room in their schedule during the time frame needed, and helped us feel comfortable about their guarantee. The rest was very easy. They showed up on time, painted the foyer the right color, made no mess, all painting was perfect, cleaned up after themselves, were polite, and we felt like valued customers. I just wish hiring a contractor was not so expensive. We would have them paint the rest of the interior. Thanks CertaPro!!

CertaPro representative Tom Webb contacted me the day after I called for an estimate. I received the estimate via email the next day. Certapro was not the lowest estimate I received but they responded quickly, had good ratings on Angie's List and had no compalints at the BBB. We selected CertaPro over 4 other contractors. It took a few weeks to schedule the work. On the day the work was to start Tom and Shawn arrived as scheduled and started the prep work. Overall the job took two days and they arrived the second day as schedulaed too. When the job was comptleted we looked over all the work they had done and everything was completed to our satisfaction. CertaPro also provided a 2 year warranty of their work. Cleanup was excellent and we saw no evidence of their work other than the newly painted windows, deck and replaced door. Certapro also gave us a 20% Angie's List discount which kept the extire job within the price range allowed by our insurance company. The next time we need painting done we will contact CertaPro first.

Their price was much higher than any of the other quotes I received. They were on time with the estimate and very professional. They always returned my phone calls.

Because of weather and other jobs, Certa-Pro had to flex with a few dates, but they ALWAYS called to confirm arrival times, understood our need to get house interior painted before move-in day ( and made it happen!) and then did the exterior on dates as promised, even though they had worked all through the weekend on a previous job. And their work was fabulous- from wall prep, to even-ness of painting, cutting out edges and corners, etc. The crew was great, always polite and kind, and they worked a 12 hour day on the last day to get it all done. We are so appreciative.

This was a one day job and they completed it late in the day. The screen door, which was new, was to be given 2 coats of paint but i don't believe it was since they didn't start on the door until the very end of job. In any case, the paint didn't dry between coats since it was done in about 15-30 min. They missed painting around the hooks used to hold shades. It looks like they just rolled it and never got back to finish. On the outside where they had replaced the lattice which secured the screen they argued about painting an additional 1 1/2 inch stripe above the upper most strip and eave. This just left a 1 1/2 inch stripe above the newly painted porch and roof. The screen door which they were to install couldn't be opened because it wasn't sized to the opening, it was just forced into the opening. The next day much of the lattice used on the screen had bowed away fro the 2x4 framework. Turns out the nails were the wrong size and the nailer was set with too much pressure. Also the hose which they dragged to the back of the house to clean their equipment was never put back but rather left in a pile. I called the company and they did come out the next day and fixed everything to my satisfaction. I simply wouldn't use them again due to the poor workmanship the first time around.

They were very professional and very expensive. They initially gave me an estimate, it as well was professional and very polished. The painting went well, the painters did a good job, but they cleaned their brushes out in my front yard. There is a huge patch of dead grass. They work quickly, it looked good, but, it put a bad taste in my mouth because of my yard. I give them lower ratings because of what happened, I think they are expensive, but, I would probably use them again in the future.
