Didnt No follow up won’t call back not sure how they stay in business shotty materials

We purchased a home in June 2010 built by Testerman in mid 2007. The home is beautiful and appears to be quality construction, but we noticed in Early 2011, the wooden supports under the stairs of our deck were rotting and becoming unsafe. Our general contractor, who was repairing hail storm damage at the time, pointed out the wood was not pressure treated, and it was also not painted. This is simply not acceptable. We called Testerman's office on two separate occasions and were told he was not available, but would call us back regarding the matter. We never received a call. We ultimately paid our general contractor to redo the support for the stairs with appropriate pressure treated lumber that will be allowed to cure before being painted. My concern is that most of the other homes in our subdivision (and many others throughout Knoxville) were built by Testerman, and improper materials may have been used on their decks as well. Raw untreated lumber exposed to elements will rot, and is structurally unsafe.
