Work was done efficiently and they even worked around a potential access setback.

After getting three estimates, I let Jason know that I wanted him to do the removal. We settled on late May/early June for the job. Jason was very communicative in regards to when they would do the job. He called me several times to tell me that he had some emergency jobs (due to the wind storms) but had me on his calendar. Just had to adjust exactly when he would do my job. But the day came and he got here early morning, did the job, and took away all of the debris. (I didn't want the wood since I wasn't sure if it had termites, for mulch, and I don't have a wood-burning fireplace.) Since I am retired, I was flexible with when he could do the job. And it was within the time frame we originally decided on. The only complaint was from Jason, as they were located in east Knoxville, so had a long drive to get to my property. But that was just mentioned in passing.

Jason and his helpers spent 2 days working hard to get the lot cleared of a thick mat of overgrown brush. They also cut down a dead tree that was about to fall over the neighbors fence. They stayed at it until all was removed. They chipped up and hauled away all the remains and left the area neat as possible. This is the second time I have worked with Jason and would hesitate to hire him again for future projects.

It went perfectly. They arrived on time, quickly performed the agreed upon work, and cleaned up completely before they left. I was quoted a price of $1100, which I felt was fair for the work to be done. However, when the work was finished I was told it took less time than they thought it would, so I was only charged $850!!!! How often does that happen?!?!? I would definitely use them again!!!!! Great job!

The job went very well! I needed 2 Bradford Pear trees topped off. Jason was prompt in getting back to me and expeditious in coming out to give me an estimate. I was so impressed with his professionalism, I immediately hired him. He and his crew worked hard, cleaned up appropriately, and professional at all times. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. I was so impressed, I have hired his crew to continue my lawn care needs.

Jason and the team from A cut above removed a pine tree in the front of our house that was unfortunately dying as well as an adjacent dead bush. GREAT! The owner was very knowledgeable and patient as he walked around our house with me. I asked a lot of questions and he provided very helpful suggestions. He and his crew arrived on time and worked really hard over a few days. They finished ahead of schedule. We could not be happier with the result. The final price was reasonable and exactly as quoted. We had four trees that the previous owners of our home allowed to grow in a cluster much too close to one another. As a result, we had two 80 plus foot poplars that were dangerously close to the house and leaning towards the house due to competing for sunlight that had to be taken down. In addition, we also had wood left over in our backyard from when we had another poplar taken down that Jason and his crew removed for us. First of all let me say that Jason was the only person that I got an estimate for that was on time for the initial estimate. I had a total of 4 estimates done and all the others either completely no showed or failed to call to tell me they needed to reschedule their initial estimate. As a child of a Marine who grew up under the mantra of "If you're on time, you're late" I found this to be particularly insulting from the other companies. Jason was a complete professional from the first time I meet him and so was his crew. All in all, it went very well. There were a few hiccups in getting it done due to the size of the trees, the slant of the driveway, and location of power lines. Even though it cost him more than what he originally estimated to get the work done, Jason never once brought up the idea of trying to up his price. Jason kept in full contact with me the entire time and made sure I was aware of any changes in the timeline as far as when the work would get done. I am very happy with Jason and his crew and would happily use them again in the future.

Jason proved himself to be a very responsible and responsive owner. He and Marvin were absolutely tremendous! They were extraordinarily conscientious, extremely hardworking, great cleaning up, astute, and quite capable of handling the many challenges posed on our property. We had obtained more than one quote and though theirs was not the least price quoted, they were also not the most expensive. We felt their quote fair, had read their reviews on Angie's List, and thus felt good about our decision to try them. After all the work was completed, to include trees and logs I had missed and that Jason and Marvin quickly identified as problematic, I could not have been happier with our decision to try them for this project. Will most definitely use again and have already discussed future projects with Jason.

Jason and his team did a fantastic job removing one tree, removing several (overgrown) bushes that were the size of small trees, cutting limbs off some trees to shape them, and weeding and cleaning up the side of a hill that had become wildly overgrown. They also removed leaves. We bought our house about 18 months ago. The previous owner had not done much (if any) basic lawn care for the past few years so when we bought the house the yard was very overgrown. Once we were settled into the house, we called Jason and he came out a couple days later to look at the job. He had great ideas (letting us know which trees should stay, which trees needed to be taken out because they were crowding other trees and ground cover). He quoted a very reasonable price and said he would be out in about two weeks. About a week later he called us with a start date. He came promptly that day, and started working hard. When we first met he thought it would be two days of work but the three-person team started early and wrapped up after 5 p.m.; they were able to finish it all in one day, which was really impressive. Because he finished in one day, he lowered the price from our original quote. The work was fantastic. We have contracted him to cut our lawn going forward. I have every confidence we can trust him with our lawn.

Jason came and gave us a very reasonable estimate for the work that needed to be done. Very professional and he and his crew did a beautiful job! We would not hesitate to call Jason again if we need additional tree service in the future.

My father said business is not that complicated and I'm glad more people don't know it. He explained you have for the customer a competitive product or service at a competitive price. You do what you say you will do when you say you will do it. If you can't , communicate before the fact. "A Cut Above Lawn & Landscaping" exemplifies my fathers definition of a successful business. My method with Angie's list is to find long term businesses with A averages and explainable low grades. I called 4 of these. Only "A Cut Above Lawn & Landscaping" called back that day. In early November most landscapers were booked way out so they had no sense of urgency. When the owner knew I had a tree about to fall on a neighboring house, he worked me in at once. The job was done to my neighbor's satisfaction. The charge was less than the estimate.

Thorough, efficient, quality work. I bought a property that had been pretty neglected in recent years, and it will need several large projects. I appreciated Jason's ideas and recommendations.

Jason and his boys trimmed everything down to the ground as instructed while carefully leaving some decorative plants. The trees were cut and debris removed. Jason left me some apple wood for smoking on my request. They fit the job in well ahead of schedule even when it looked like rain. The price was very fair also. I was impressed with the professionalism and speed of execution. Well done!

Did the work for me and my mother for a couple of years. Always did a great job for my mother and the work they actually did for me was good. As time wore on, crew began to skip work originally agreed upon (weed-eating) at my home, even though price ($45/week for my 1/3rd acre yard) was never reduced accordingly. Stated reason was because of my dog's waste in the backyard. I can understand that (I'm partially disabled), but owner was asked about that at the beginning of service and said it would be no problem. As services that had been performed from the beginning were not performed, owner stated all he ever agreed upon was strictly mowing, that weed eating and trimming were extra. We amicably agreed to part ways.

Jason and his crew have taken care of my yard and my mom's yard for the past several months with an every other week mowing and weed-eating service. They've done an excellent job with attention to detail and excellent communication. Jason is very responsive. I've texted him numerous times with requests to do extras, such as low-hanging tree branch removal, overgrowth trim/cutback, etc., and he always responds quickly and positively and gets the job done right away. We're happy to have him on leaf control and removal now, too. There have been several instances when I've left frequency of service decisions up to him and been delighted when Jason chose based on what was right to do, not what was most profitable for him. Definitely recommend Jason and his company.
