It went very well, Mr. Kirby spent a lengthy amount of time inspecting various aspects of the property. My wife and I were quite pleased with his inspection and recommendations. The radon, led, and asbestos testing provided us with an deepened awareness. I found it difficult to locate someone who conducted these tests. We are very pleased with his overall assessment.

He was very polite and easy to talk to. He educated me on each part of the house and made recommendations. He also commented on whether each problem was critical or typical, and how urgent. He was also able to roughly estimate the cost of repairs and recommend if further inspections were needed by specialists, such as a roof inspector.

Tommy was excellent! He was professional and polite and showed up 30 minutes early and started on the exterior inspection of the home. He was very thorough and pointed out potential problems to my husband and I as well as showed and explained to us everything we wanted to know. We had a written detailed report with pictures and explanations emailed to us later that same evening. His was wonderful and his price was very reasonable.

Did an exhaustive inspection of entire structure, discussing things along the way. Extraordinarilly complete report was provided by e-mail within two hours of inspection completion. Tommy was very professional & detailed. I was on a very tight schedule & he was able to accomodate that by flexing his schedule. He detected several potential issues that caused us to dig deeper & prompted re-negotiation of some of the properties as far as what the sellers were going to have to do to bring the properties up-to-snuff to procedd with the sale. In one case, the re-negotiation gained a $2,000 allowance for some electrical work that was going to have to be done. Overall, a good experience & I definitely recommend him.ss

I cannot say enough good about First Choice Home Inspection. We found them on Angie's List and were quite secure in hiring the company due to the excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. Tommy was very thorough, answered every question thoroughly and with factual information to back it up. The price I provided was for the home inspection. Due to respiratory issues in the family we also requested an optional mold test and a radon test which were additional but well worth the peace of mind. We received complete reports on all fronts in a timely manner so we could move forward. We would definitely hire this company again in a similar situation.

They provided a detailed, easy to read and understand outline of their findings. Recommendations were made based on the inspection which was valuable in the final negotiations. The report was comprehensive and detailed. It was provided to me by email ( with pictures) within 4 hours of the inspection. This too was very valuable when time is important in negotiations. We sold our home unexpectedly and quickly made an offer on another home. Termites were found in the home we were purchasing one week prior to us moving. We called Tommy and explained the urgency and he was out there the next day. He did and incredibly thorough inspection and answered all our questions. We give him our highest recommendation!

Tommy Kirby responded quickly to my request for a seller's inspection. We wanted to make sure we had no inspection surprises once we have an offer and contract on the house. Tommy explained what his inspection would cover and gave me a detailed contract to read and sign. He arrived on time and immediately went to work. During the inspection, he was thorough in the areas he inspected and informed me of issues that might need immediate attention. He took detailed photos of each area, from the basement to the roof. He also made suggestions of minor issues we may want to address. After his inspection, my husband and I both feel much more confident that there will be few issues once we list our house. Mr. Kirby sent us a detailed, thorough report, complete with photos so that we can address each issue, no matter how minor. He also gave us the Angie's List discount when I mentioned that is how we found him. The price was very fair; the report was well worth the money. Tommy was prompt and punctual. He reviewed the house thoroughly, including the large basement. He gave my husband great insight into what the issues were and gave guidance on the logistics of having certain issues fixed. He emailed us a full report with easy to follow organization within 8 hours of the inspection.

Mr. Kirby responded to my call quickly and was able to schedule the work quickly to meet my schedule. He arrived early (after calling to see if that would be OK) and completely the work in the predicted time. Afterwards, he went through the items that would be on his report and responded to my questions. Despite only looking at major systems, he emailed me an 18 page report with photos by the afternoon.

As potential home buyers, we were under a contract time limit so he scheduled the inspection we needed within the time frame we had. His report came to us the following day (even on a holiday - Thanksgiving). We appreciated the very timely response. We also appreciated his thoroughness which allows us to address issues we did not see for ourselves and would not have known about otherwise. Although we have not needed to have a home inspection done before and cannot do a cost comparison, we feel confident the charges were fair and reasonable.

1st Choice was one name on a short list of home inspectors recommended by out real estate agent. Tommy was very accommodating and professional over the phone when we set up a short notice home inspection of a foreclosed property we were looking at. We chose him because he could work with our schedule, and perform all the inspections we needed. He showed up on time, prepared with all the equipment and paperwork. He gave us an overview of the inspection he was going to do and explained the contract clearly before we signed. He performed a thorough inspection of the property, taking photos and pointing things out as he went. He seemed quite comfortable answering all our questions and explaining his observations as he conducted his work. Very professional and friendly. Tommy finished the inspection, including taking air samples for the mold testing and setting up the radon test in about 2 1/2 hours. We were impressed with his efficient use of time especially since the home was of an unusual construction (manufactured log type), built in the 1970's and had been empty for over a year since foreclosure. We received the inspection report and the results of the tests in the time frame he told us. The report was complete, easy to read, and covered everything. The bottom line is that although my wife and I did a ton of due diligence on the property, we had looked at it several times (including once with a contractor) and were quite confident of what we were getting into, Tommy's knowledgeable inspection provided us with information we could not have gotten otherwise. I will not make a home purchase without consulting 1st Choice Home Inspections and recommend them highly!
