I have worked with 1 Call on at least 3 jobs for multiple properties. They have always shown up on time, diagnosed the problem, found the most affordable and correct course of action, and performed excellent work at a very fair price. I will absolutely continue to use them.
Description of Work: Both dishwasher and microwave repairs.

AVOID USING 1 CALL SERVICE OR THE OWNER TIM SHIPLEY!!! We had a 1 year old washing machine go bad, and since it was right out of warranty when it crapped out, we had to use the extended warranty we purchased through Lowes. So we called Assurant, who sent out 1 call service to find out what the problem was. Tim came out on a Tuesday, did his assessment. Said he would turn in his report and we would hear from Assurant by Thursday or Friday. Called Assurant on Saturday and found out he had not even submitted the report. Called Tim and he blamed it on GE not getting back to him about the part numbers. Over a month later, he comes out, "repairs" my washer, my wife notices water, he says "it does that sometimes with this repair." Ran a cycle, and assured my wife there were no leaks, 20 min later water is pouring out of the washer and when my wife looked at it saw that he had shoved wash rags between the washer and the stand to soak up the water to make it appear as if it wasn't leaking. When my wife questioned him about the leak he said he can't do anything for us, we would have to put in another claim. SO, this "repair man" took a barely working washing machine and made it completely useless. Not to mention we now have to wait for another claim to be done!

I had an appointment scheduled with this company for appliance repair, but they called me saying they couldn't make the appointment because they had too many people scheduled during that timeframe. I asked if the other people had been scheduled before I was scheduled, and that I couldn't take the earlier appointment in the day because I work nights. He said no, they weren't scheduled before me, but still insisted that I take the earlier appointment and was very rude. I said okay, that I would take a later appointment on another day. However, instead of doing that, he proceeded to complain about Lowe's and their scheduling and was a real jerk about it. I would not pay this man to do anything at my house. Would not recommend them at all. Will never hire them for anything.

Our experience with Tim was nothing less than absolutely horrible. Tim showed up a few weeks ago (at the direction of the warranty company that Lowes provides) and spent a few minutes with the washing machine, then proceeded to say he had to talk to the Warranty Company and order some parts. We never heard from Tim again. After two weeks had passed, we called the warranty company to confirm next steps. Turns out they never heard back from Tim. Then a few days later, Tim Shipley was scheduled to come out the door switch and mechanism. Never mind that had been replaced before by the previous technician that the Warranty Company sent out. Tim didn't really want to listen to us or the challenges we had already faced with the washing machine. And once Tim proclaimed that the washing machine was "fixed" I called my wife to see if she had any questions. Tim got really antsy at that point (probably because he was already aware that he didn't fix anything). My wife started to ask that Tim stay to witness the cycle to confirm it would work. Tim threw his hands up in the air and started mumbling under his breath that he wouldn't stay because he "knew" it was fixed. He simply walked down the stairs and out the door. Didn't even say "thanks!" Well, the washing machine wasn't fixed! It didn't even complete the first cycle. Both my wife and I tried to call Tim and got VM. Great work, Tim. Not only did you NOT fix the washer, you were literally the most unprofessional person we have ever worked with. If you're reading this, I would highly urge you to find someone else.

Excellent communication with Tim. Arrived in a timely manner, diagnosed and fixed the problem. Respectful during Covid - they wore masks without having to be asked.

This service was provided through a homeowners warranty service, Choice Home Warranty. Our refrigerator started to die on Saturday, June 8. We called Choice Home Warranty and they told us that they were in the process of selecting a contractor to repair our fridge. We received notice Sat. afternoon that a contractor was selected, 1 Call Service, and they would arrive Monday, June 10, between 7 - 11 AM. They arrived at 10:30 AM, took the back off the fridge and said they didn't have the part, they would have to order it. They also said the part could take 3 days for delivery. On Wednesday afternoon, the repairman called and said the part came in. They would arrive on Thursday between 8 - 12 AM. They arrived 8:30 AM, plugged in a relay and the refrigerator compressor started and the refrigerator immediately started cooling. Other than them not having the part and waiting for them to arrive, 1 Call Service did great work. They also don't work weekends. They said they were the fastest for warranty repair companies. I would use them again. We are pleased with their service. The cost was for the warranty service call. We didn't have to pay for the part as Choice Home Warranty had it covered.

This company was sent by my warranty company. I paid the service fee, which they didn't and won't report and I'm being harassed by my warranty company to pay the fee. They didn't repair the oven and when they stated they would come out, they waited until after 30 days, so I had to make another claim. The repair man said he would waive my fee, since I had called him, but I'm being harassed by my warranty company for the 2nd visit as well. When I called to get help, the receptionist hung up on me and refused to inform the warranty company that I had paid for the first visit, even though I had a cleared check. On a professional note, the repair man lied to me, didn't repair the oven, didn't call me for two weeks, and I was hung up on by the receptionist. Beware this company!

Modern appliances generally require control boards, logic boards, and parts that most repair companies do not stock. Ordering of parts is required im many cases. The delay in fixing was due to waiting on parts and not on the individual repair personnel. They were on time and called if they were going to be delayed--even for a few minutes.
Description of Work: Warranty service on front-loading washer. Came to diagnose, ordered parts, and returned within ten days for final repair. Washer repair was siccessful.

He came out 3 times and even after the third time he didn't get it right. The washing machine was out of service for 2 weeks waiting of parts that he kept having to order. It was a nightmare. I will not use him again.
