+ -1 moreThe roof had a leak near the chimney. Unfortunately there was wood rot on the roof deck in the area of the leak. They replaced the rotted wood decking, reworked the shinglers in the area and fixed/replaced the flashing at the chimney. It was not an easy job because that section of the roof was about 30 ft. (or more) above grade and roof was about a 12/12 pitch. They came when they said they would and worked until the job was completed. They did a good job, but I did think the price was high. On the other hand, they were the only roofer I contacted willing to come out and give me a bid, so maybe their prices was appropriate for the work done.

+ -1 moreWe suffered wind damage and lost a lot of shingles. Chuck was able to come right over and patch and repair. It was still very windy out but he was able to get the work done without any problem. The weather forecast was for rain and snow the next day so this was very much appreciated. He was able to give us photos and a detailed estimate for roof replacement which was satisfactory to to our insurance adjuster.

I went with them because several people, whose opinion I trust, had used them and were very happy with their completed projects. + -1 moreTom McMurray came out the day after I called looked it over and developed a plan. Much would depend upon what they found when they removed the old shingles. Ended up with new wood, a heavy, self sealing underlayer and new shingles. All done in one day. They cleaned up well after themselves and now no more leaks.
Description of Work: The back side of my house has an almost flat pitch and it was leaking. Had the original installer out several times but they either could not or would not put in the effort to repair.

I had just purchased the property and Chuck walked me through everything and explained what had to be done to repair rafters etc. He also gave me a couple of options so that I could choose what was best for my budget. I found him and his team to be very honest and they made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Of course, I had to wait a couple of weeks to get on his schedule, but he kept me informed of his timing and also came by to put a tarp on my roof until he could get to my job. Can't say enough good things about this company!

Description of Work: In late August of 2017, I wrote a contract on a pre-owned home, built in 1962, in Church Hill, TN. The home inspector I used informed me that the roof was in very bad shape and could start leaking at any time. Based on Angie's List ratings, I immediately contacted McMurray Boy's Roofing to give me an estimate. They responded quickly to come to the house to provide a written estimate, which was $3800.00 for a complete new architectural roof with top grade materials. The home owner's (selling) realtor was present. I submitted the estimate to the homeowners and requested that the new roof be included as an addendum to the sales contract on the house. The owners agreed to my terms. I closed on the home on 27 October 2017 and immediately called McMurray Boy's but they never did return my call. A week and half later I finally got an answer on their phone and told them the money was being held in escrow by the Title Company and that I wanted the roof replaced immediately. I was informed that they were very busy but they would get my roof completed by mid-late November. I have not heard from them since. Our weather has been perfect for roofing work through today, 04 December 2017. Starting tomorrow, our temperatures are expected to drop to the low 40's with precipitation, and by the weekend lows are expected in the 20's. So much for getting a new roof from ANYONE before Christmas. I am not a happy person right now. I WILL be looking for another roofer.

They were very friendly, respectful, and actually a delight! Chuck and Wendy made this otherwise painful (financially) experience a little easier to bear! We are sure that we had the best job done for the right price! We would definitely use them again and would totally recommend them to others.

+ -1 moreWork was excellent. I knew existing roof was leaking and that sheeting was original to my 40 year old house and also knew there were weak spots in the roof. Every other contractor just wanted to leave existing shingles and roof as is and put new roof on top. I chose McMurray Boy's because they were the only contractor that was willing to take off old shingles and fix weak spots; in fact, said they couldn't do job without doing it that way. They showed up on time on specified day, cleaned up as they went, and finished the job in one day. Overall I am extremely pleased with their work and the outcome. They did a professional, quality job.

We also asked for several home to look at roof color & their work, they provided that. Chuck & Wendy were friendly & explained what the process would be. They called us & told us when they could start & they were there on that day & time. The workers were polite & respectful. We were impresses with their work & workers, there was no bad language or workers with their shirts off. When the job was finished they, cleaned up & used a strong magnet & made sure there were no nails anywhere around. Thanks McMurray Boys for a great job on our roof!

+ -1 moreChuck, his wife and crew make a great team. Everyone is courteous and respectful. You don't feel like you need to stand there and watch what they are doing. They work fast and are always cleaning up. Chuck kept us informed at every step of the process and made sure we understood how the project was going. When a issues were identified (rotted boards), he presented the problem and options, careful to explain the consequences of each. When he was finished, the crew did an an excellent job of cleaning up, sweeping for nails, and making sure the place looked like they were never there, except for the great looking new roof.
