 + -1 moreJoe came in to bid on fixing the switches and got the lights going temporarily for no charge.
Description of Work: Low voltage indoor lights system messed up. I had called another electrical contractor to work on my church's electrical system on Saturday 9/17/16. The day before congrgants had come to the church for a meeting and the low voltage lights were out. Circuit breakers were then thrown on and off with no regard to the power panel instructions like "Do NOT throw this switch". I had to come back from a trip to talk to the previous electrical contractor. They were to first get the 2 of 5 power panels which were now out, get them back on. Once completed, they were to find some way to turn on the lights by bypassing the low voltage system and leave the circuit breaker as the only way to turn out the lights. Of the 5 hours there at $135 per hour charge, 2 to 3 hours were spent working on the lights. I called 2 additional electrical contractors to get bids on Tuesday 9/20/16. Joe of Livewire offered to come out that afternoon and he got 4 of five lights circuits going in twenty minutes and no charge. Of course he's got the job to fix the switches permanently.

If you are looking for an electrician give them a call. They are worth the wait. I won't use anyone but Joe on my projects. He has saved us time and money. The job was done right and I am very happy with their service.

 + -1 moreSome of the circuit breakers were going bad and would turn off under load. They also were getting hot so it was a safety issue. Joe Mageira of LiveWire Electric came out within a couple days of our call to evaluate the problem and then returned 2-3 days later and took care of it. He did a great job and was very conscientous.

 + -1 moreContacted provider to inquire about a probable short in a double light switch in my basement. He was busy and said it would be about a week before he could look at it. I was fine with that. He also said if he was in my neighborhood doing another job and had time, he would call and come then. He called once, and I wasn't home. He called again a few days later and I was home and he was there in 5 minutes. After looking at the switch box and my telling him what it was doing, he knew immediately what the problem was. Fixed it and has worked perfectly since then. He was very professional and personable, and I will use him again when the need arises.
Description of Work: Provider knew right away what the problem was and that wires had been connected improperly.

 + -1 moreSuper happy with Joe and his work. I sent a message on Angie's List for a quote and he called me back the same day to schedule a free estimate. Joe showed up today, on time, and we talked about the best way to get the new wire run into the kitchen. He had time, so he went ahead and got started right after the quote! He works fast and tidy. He needed to cut a hole in the wall under the breaker box to feed the wire, so he added an extra outlet there - which looks great (level & the hole was cut just big enough for the plastic insert box.) Joe was also very friendly and professional. I asked if I could watch him work and he not only agreed, but also talked me thru what he was doing. 10 out of 10, would hire again.

The only glitch in the whole process was in establishing communication at the beginning. A couple of missed calls on both our parts resulted in a delay in getting the work started, but once we made the right connections, everything went well. I will definitely contact him again when I need electrical work done.
Description of Work: Joe installed several outlets in my mother's 1940's house's unfinished basement, re-worked two lights in the basement, and put up a motion light on the back of the house outside.

It was an easy fix but the water heater company insisted on an electrician testing it. While he was here we went over pricing on a couple of my future project and I fully expect to call him back for additional work. He was reasonable and quick. The other prices quoted seemed very reasonable as well.

 + -1 moreAfter renovations, we wanted to replace all of the electrical outlets / receptacles and wall switches in the area. I had purchased the needed receptacles and switches hoping we could have an electrician friend assist us. Too much time elapsed so I was looking for someone to do the work for me, wanting to get the room back in order. I saw Livewire Electric on Angie's list and decided to give them a call. I left a message in the AM and by noon Joe called back. Since the job was not too large, he had a few hours and asked if he could come at that time. Joe was great!! He was here right when he said he would be and completed the work timely. We actually had him look at (and fix) another receptacle that was loose in another part of the house. Nice guy! Would recommend him and will use him again for other needs!

 + -1 moreI called Livewire on June 15th, 2015 to ask him to come out and check our smoke detectors because 3 in our lower level did not have a green light. He came out the same afternoon right after returning my call and found that the 3 lower level smoke detectors had never been wire to the house power or rest of the detectors. We asked him for an estimate for doing some additional work and he provided that in a timely manner and we scheduled him to come out the following week. Joe arrived right on time and performed the work excellently. We would definitely recommend Joe and would have no hesitation in calling him for any other electrical work we need.
Description of Work: Troubleshot electrical for smoke detectors, added 3 110V GFCI circuits in garage, added 110V circuit for freezer, added 220V circuit in garage, added 110V receptacle in hall, added smoke detector in living area tied into all other smoke detectors.

 + -1 moreWhile getting a new roof installed we discovered a new short in a light fixture right above where new fasteners were being installed for the new metal roof. Seemed a likely that a fastener and punctured a wire in the ceiling. Complicating the issue was that the involved ceiling had no attic as it is a cathedral ceiling. Being a faulty switch was unlikely, but possible, Joe quickly ascertained that the culprit was actually a loose ground wire in the switch box that likely never been installed switch and was shorting out against one of the "hot" wires on the three-way switch. The guilty ground wire was likely shaken into it's shorting state due to the new vibration going on with the roofers install project. This was a very unique and unlikely outcome that left us all surprised and grateful at it's simple solution.
Description of Work: Joe helped us quickly diagnose a very eluding and potentially tedious electrical problem that turned to be quite simple to resolve. Joe's expertise saved us and our contractor a lot of time, headache and money!

One fixture had a piece missing - i had to go purchase this item & Joe performed other work while I retrieved the item. Joe has a great work ethic - this is our 2nd time using Joe & we are very pleased with his work & his fees - he uses his time very wisely. We plan to use Joe again as the weather did not allow him to complete work outside that we needed.
Description of Work: Installed 3 Kitchen Light Fixtures, removed old & installed new bathroom exhaust fans (one of the exhaust fans installed was larger the original fan, which required going up into the attic for proper fitting). Joe was on time, he wasted time completing work installed 3 kitchen lights & removed/replaced 2 bathroom exhaust fans.
