From start to finish, the Lane Thompson folks were on time, polite, professional, and communicative. They took the time to explain the whole process of the furnace installation, provide options, and keep me updated on the process. Lane Thompson was assigned by Lowes to install my new Trane heat pump, they did an outstanding job. Very professional, very thorough. Definitely recommend whether direct or through Lowes.

I decided to call Lane Thompson Heating & Cooling when our current heat pump bit the dust after a nice long 15 years of heating and cooling our 1640 sq ft single family home. It was a Trane system and it just so happens our next system would be as well. So I sent the an email about 10:15 PM on a Tuesday night and I was called by 9:00 AM from Mr Frank Thompson about a request to have someone come out and see what was going on with the current system. * Keep in mind this not the middle of summer..rather February. Tina, one of their technicians showed up about 2 hours later...She just happened to be on a service call in my area at the time so it worked out. She called before she showed up. She was 100% professional in every way on the job After she thoroughly.inspected our old system, it was clear it was time for a new unit...(burnt out fan motor, torn top) She said Mr. Thompson would be in touch to quote us out a new system. Mr. Thompson called me about 1-2 hours later and said he would be at my place the next morning at 9:00 AM to give us a quote. He arrive at 8:45 AM. We sat down and he gave me my options that worked best in my situation on how we use our A/C and heating system. At NO point did he ever try to up sell me on anything that did not make sense for my situation. I felt as if the price provided in exchange for what we were getting was totally fair. We went with a Trane System like our last one. it made sense with warranty and service provided. I expect companies have to make money but I think all most home owners want is a fair price for great work...keep in mind I had a general idea of what a system like mine would cost to replace and I felt as if Mr. Thompson's price was well within that. I also the kind of person that knows that with an investment like a new A/C heating system...have a great service is the #1 thing for the life of the system. Mr Thompson, said they can start first thing Monday morning at 9:00 AM and he would get my equipment on order. Monday Morning: Sure enough 8:55 AM..up rolled 3 trucks from Lane Thompson. Two of the trucks were Gordon (our technician) and his assistants along with Frank Thompson making sure the job gets started off right. This is key to me in a home service industry. So they got to it....and pretty much had the old Air Handler and Condensing Unit/heat pump remove and had the new units in place by 12:00. By this time a second technician (Tina) came to the job site to help speed up the process. They took a small lunch and and came back and continued to work until 3:30. Gordon (the technician) said he would be back at 9:00AM tomorrow morning to wrap things up. Sure enough the next morning... 8:55 AM there is Gordon ready to finish up the job. Let me know he was here and ready to get to work. He wrapped about the job about 2 hours later and did a final test of both the cooling and heating systems. Everything looks and feels great! I can not say enough good things about Lane Thompson Heating and Cooling. Totally professional outfit.

Tina (our technician) was extremely helpful! She was early - and performed the necessary repairs in a very professional manner. She was very pleasant and was very knowledgeable in assessing the problem and correcting it. Tina replaced the heater unit and corrected the wiring. We definitely will keep their number for future maintenance / service calls. Very pleased with the service received!

The process was smooth. The first visit was arranged to allow for an assessment of our unit, and a second appointment was required to complete the repair. Both appointments were kept on schedule and the work was done in a timely and neat manner.

Friendly and excellent service. Technician found problems and arranged for repair in very timely fashion. This was an excellent experience and I do not hesitate recommending Lane Thompson for annual maintenance of heat pumps.

Purchased option through AL on Tuesday, had an email at 7:55am on Wednesday asking me to call to schedule. I did so, went to voice mail - I was called back within 15 minutes. Appointment was scheduled for 2:30 pm, but the technician called about 10:30 am saying she was ahead of schedule and asked if I would like her to stop by earlier. This thrilled me, as we have two dogs who'd had a rough night due to the heat. Technician arrived at 11am and promptly figured out what the issue was. She helped step me through the process and gave me some pointers for the future. As this is my first home, this information was invaluable. She made sure to thoroughly check all potential pain points, which I very much appreciated. I could wish that the unit didn't use an old refrigerant that's being phased out and so is expensive and will become more so as time goes on, but that's not something LTHC has any control over. All told, I found them to be personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I would absolutely hire again, and probably will come next spring to do a once over.

One of the best experiences I have had. Frank worked with me to select the best option for my home. He registered the warranty of the products with the company on my behalf which was great, Very knowledgable of products and services after the sale! Instillation Technitians were fantastic and took great care with my home, cleaning all debris and material after days work. Give this company a look if you want complete satisfaction.

So happy I called this company; Angies List comes through once again! The technician Franklin was on time, very polite and knowledgeable. It did not take him long to figure out what the problem was and fix it. He replaced a bad switch and made sure he did not detect any carbon monoxide leaks. Would definitely recommend and will use this company again.

Excellent. Very professional. Technician knew exactly what she was doing (Tina...she is beyond knowledgeable). They gave me a couple of options for repair with an estimate and final price was true to the stated cost. Repair was made the same day as the service call. I am the second owner of the unit and they even checked the warranty for me.

We have only lived in the Kingsport area for 2 years. My contact folder is being built, so I looked to Angie's list for options. So glad I did! Our family policy is to get at least 3 estimates. After speaking with 4 local established companies, we had no problem choosing Lane Thompson. It was easy to get an initial meeting, during which time Franklin wore booties throughout our home. He listened to our needs and wanted to meet them, not oversell for his profit. His estimate on a Trane system came in lower than all the others. He was honest when asked about his schedule for installation. Being a smaller company, there was a couple of week wait for installation, however, he brought us a window unit to use during that time free of charge. He was first to mention reasons he would run new copper pipe that two other companies did not. The primary installer, Gordon, was meticulous with his craftsmanship. He answered all questions along the way and kept us informed. Everything was cleaned up before they left. At the end of service, our registered warranty was presented to us. Every team member we met was kind, non-threatening and respectful. Franklin even reminded me of the Angie's List coupon!

I have seldom met anyone as polite and easy to work with as Franklin Lane and his employees. They arrived as scheduled, protected our floors, removed the old units, and installed the new units in a day and a half. We were instructed on proper operation and answered all our questions. We would hire them again for any kind of heating and cooling operation.

I called on a Saturday to have Mr. Thompson check out the non functioning AC on my multi family units. He came within two hours of my phone call. UnFortunately it was an electrical issue but he was prompt, courteous, and down to earth dude . He even gave me some advice to make my home more efficient. I have called several HVAC companies that Saturday and he was the most reasonable and fair priced person. I will certainly do business with him again.
