Had someone from Bishop come out over two weeks ago for tree falling on corner of roof. After two weeks or false promises, poor communication, failing to provide a written estimate after being asked twice (among other things), I hired another roofer only to find the Bishop guy had lied about the extent of the damage to my roof and the new roofer did it for 1/5 the price.

The roof was excellent but not the siding part. After they got the house all completed and done we had to pick up a lot of nails and all that stuff and the siding started popping loose and afterwards they came back in and said they had to take it all off again and so they got another company to come back and do it. I just don't think they have done a very good job with the siding. This place I think should have had more time on siding but they didn't take the time to do it. But as far as the roof it was excellent.
Description of Work: We used Bishop Roofing Company; they did the siding and the roof.

Many thanks to the [Member name removed] family for allowing us the opportunity to serve them. Our original siding mechanics took longer than we would have liked but there were days that they could not work since the job was completed during the winter months. The issue with the siding was that it was defective and completely replaced by the supplier and manufacturer at no cost to the [Member name removed] family, We elected to go with a different installer when replacing the siding due to time constraints and peace of mind for our customer. Again, many thanks to the [Member name removed] family.

Awful company. No managment of the crews working on site. If I had not worked in construction for 15 years I would have been left with some crappy workmanship. The shingles turned out alright minus a couple of issues. However my personal experience tells me it could have been just as worse as the metal work. Please people do not use them! I also thought I had done my research on them but man was I wrong!!
Description of Work: Removed old shigles and underlayment and replaced with new. Also replaced guttering and downspouts with new. Installed new metal on freezeboards, fasciaboards and gable ends. This is where the quality went WAY down hill!! DO NOT USE BISHOP ROOFING TO INSTALL METAL WORK!!!!! I had them back out multiple times after hounding them to fix issues. Mr. Bishop told me when he priced the job that he had some of the BEST gutter/metal workers in town. Turns out he subs this work out although he owns the gutter truck. When I finally got him to personally come out and look at the punchlist items he told me and Im quoting "I am selling my gutter truck and sticking to shingles, do you know anyone looking to buy a gutter truck. I have been through multiple crews and none of them can do good work." I went off on him and told him what he said when he priced the job about having great gutter crews! He said nothing..... I spent a month trying to get them to come back out and finish so I could pay them!!

Called and made an appointment for someone to inspect a leak in our roof that was coming through our cathedral ceiling.Someone called and said it would be the next day before someone could come out. That was last week and I haven't heard from them since. We've had a couple of heavy rains since then and my problem has gotten bigger.Called another roofer. I hope they have the courtesy to call if they can't make it.
Description of Work: Never showed up or called about our appointment

SERVICE WAS JUST TERRIBLE!!!!! NEVER USE AGAIN!!!!!
Description of Work: I had already replaced my old roof wtih a new one which the company did a terrible job so I called my insurance co. . There were leaks in several areas so after the ins. agent came out , they sgreed to assist me with the repairs! I had a metal roof put on! and at the time I did not realize that the ins. co. does not cover this on exterior damage so at this time ,I found out my repair was self pay. They had several persons who contracted through them which they recomended to me! Mr. Bishop was one contractor I selected. They came up and gave me an estimate which was good and Mr. Bishop also promised me he would take care of my problems and that I would not have any more leaks! I hired them and they came up and worked one day! Said the job was finished and all leaks taken care of., boy, the next rain storm we had I realized none of the leak s were repaired!!! ! Probably worse than before!- I called Mr. Bishop about 10 times alL total and also went to the office. HE never came back !!! The worst mistake I have made!!! I then called the ins. co. and reported him!!!! And he no longer works for them! THANK GOSH!!!!! SO SORRY I DID ANY BUISNESS WITH HIM!!!! I HIS CREW ALSO PURED A PEPSI ALL OVER MY DOG WHICH I HAD JUST HAD GROOMED!!!! VERY UPSET FORMER CUSTOMER!!!!! BE ADVISED PEOPLE!!!!

We purchased a home and some roofing issues came up during the inspection. The company was prompt to come out to give an estimate when our real estate agent contacted them prior to closing on the home. However after we closed the responsivness of this company was sadly lacking. I called and left a message I wanted them to come and do the work. After three days of waiting for a return call I phoned them back. They couldn't located their copy of the estimate so I was told they would look for it and call me back. Four days later I called. I was told that the person who handled that aspect (finding the estimate) had a health issue and had been out of the office. So I let that 4 day delay slide. The man I talked to told me that he would put my job on the board and they would call me the following week. I waited until Thursday of the following week and then called them to see what was going on. The gentleman I talked to had no idea about the job. Although he finally gave me a firm date for the job to be done. When they finally came out to do the job the crew was professional, friendly and did a great job.

Overall after repeated phone calls to Bishop Roofing, all I got was the runaround. I was informed by an attorney that I had not legal recourse against Bishop Roofing. Without legal recourse, I have only the social media. In my opinion there is a level of professionalism and accountability that is lacking by Harold Bishop and his employees. I would encourage anyone who has ever used Douglas&Bishop Roofing or Bishop Roofing to have an independent roofing profession perform an inspection of their roof. I would appreciate seeing a response from Harold Bishop because he NEVER responded to my problems or concerns, NEVER returned a phone call, NEVER sent me a picture to support that the roof had been properly installed, He let his wife deal with all the customer complaints and she did come up with creative reasons why Mr. Bishop was never available. At this point I have an agreement with another roofing contractor at a cost of $1,600.00 to complete the job correctly.
Description of Work: Initially, Douglas&Bishop Roofing Co. Inc. replaced my roof following hail damage in 2006. The estimate included among other specifications the application of a drip edge and felt, both of which were included in the cost of the installation of the roof. On March 24, 2012 I had a leak in the roof where two sections of the roof come together due to differences in the pitch of the roof. I employed a licensed contractor to repair the roof and upon completion, he stated that the flashing had not been properly secured with a sealer and that he did not see felt in the area that he was working on and that there was not a drip edge installed on the roof. On 3-26-12 I contacted Harold Bishop who promptly came out and inspected the roof and stated th at he would take pictures to prove the roof was properly installed and stated that he would send me the pictures. He acknowledged that there was not a drip edge installed, that felt paper was not all the way down to the bottom of the roof and that a section of the pentagon roof in the rear of the house had not been stripped of the old shingles and the new roof was installed directly over the old roof. He left without indicating any plan of correction. On 3-29-12 I called Bishop's office and again, provided my e-mail address, fax number, home phone and cell number. He did not send any pictures and did not return my call. 4-1-12 I faxed the original proposal, the shingle warrantee, the estimate and the invoice, just in case they couldn't find their copy. 4-2-12 I called again and was informed by the secretary, his wife, that she had received my FAX and that pictures had not been sent because the camera card was not compatible with the computer and that the pictures would be sent in a couple of days. I was also informed that the company of Douglas and Bishop had been disbanded and that I would need to talk to Mr. Douglas regarding my problem because he had all the records. 4-2-12 I talked to Mr. Douglas, who told me that Bishop had all of the records from when they were a joint company. He also stated that the felt would not be all the way down to the bottom of the roof to allow for the scaffolding and that there would be a starter row of shingles across the bottom. By inspection of the homeowner, this was not evident. I faxed Mr. Douglas all of the paperwork that I had and did not receive a response. But eventually he did come up with the paperwork.
