Pearsons Handyman Service

I decided to hire them from a friend who referred them to us last year. When they was cleaning out the garage, they acted as if they owned everything in it. Basically they loaded up the stuff probably to sell it. I almost came to blows Mr. Pearsons who insisted on putting in a mini heating and ac unit in the den after he cleaned the den out stole a few items that wasn't his to have. The fact is that the den doesn't get used as much so all I needed as a fan that would circulate the air around. His wife is a little on the beligerate side since she was the only insisting that she had the right to take whatever she wants. The paining on the back steps took a few months to do since they was making excuses as to why they couldn't paint like the paint wasn't coming in. They do good electrical work when you can get them to do it but for anything else don't hire them at all. I am advising everyone not to hire them at all.

I had used Mr. Pearson for HVAC work on two previous jobs. I had problems with Mr. Pearson on those jobs, but those issues were resolved to our mutual satisfaction. Since we had an ongoing business relationship, I decided to give Mr. Pearson another chance on a third job. The job entailed installing a new HVAC unit and ductwork for $5,000 with half due up front and half due upon completion. It was agreed that Mr. Pearson would begin his work soon after receiving my initial payment of $2,500. As agreed, I upheld my end of the bargain and immediately paid the first of the two payments of $2,500. This was the beginning of the ordeal that I am still dealing with 15 months later. Once Mr. Pearson received my money, he began making excuses for not showing up and doing what he promised to do. Many of the excuses were lame and laughable. It soon became clear that he had no intention of fulfilling his duties under the contract and I had to hire another contractor to finish the job. I then began legal action against him to recover the money he stole from me plus attorney fees and court costs. Since he clearly broke the terms of the contract, I easily won judgement against him. He was ordered to make payments over a period of eighteen months, but stopped after making only four payments. In addition, he was late each month and in default each period. I then had to go back to court to get the judge to force him to pay by threat of foreclosure on his residence. Do not use this contractor!! On this job, he was dishonest and did not abide by the terms of out contract. He took my money and never provided any service. Once he was held accountable by the court, he did not abide by the terms of the settlement and further proved he could not be trusted to do what was right.
