Thomas Stone Masonry

Thomas gave me a bid on a porch repair on or about Aug 14. Since that time I have asked for a start date, His reply has always been, I am busy but will get you a date in a week or two. My reply has always been, okay I will reach out in a week or two. I texted him every other week and got the same answer, until today, Oct 12th. Today he said he is too busy and will pass on the job. I replied to him that I had patiently waited because he said he would get to me. I explained that finding someone, getting a bid and on their schedule would put me into winter, a time I know this type of work slows or stops . His reply was to insult my character and tell me "ya porch need to be pushed over and completely rebuilt". I have not said or done anything to warrant an insult and in August when he looked at my porch it was repairable. I think the real unspoken reason was my job was too small and he had more lucrative contracts. I feel this was very unprofessional behavior on his part and I want others to know so they don't find themselves in my shoes. Just tell the truth from the start, and don't string people along for 8 weeks. I wouldn't contract with him now, if he knocked on the door and said he would start right now.
