Do Not Hire This Guy! We hired him to replace our Tin Roof. He gave us an estimate and would start tomorrow. He started 3 days later because of the weather. Came to do the job, he told us his estimate was off, we needed 25 more OSB at $ 49 each. We were pretty upset he was so far off. He laid OSB on one side of the house and the next day, he was MIA. No Facebook page, Phone turned off, couldn’t even message him. Luckily we have learned, we do not pay anyone up front! The New Roofer had to take all of Allen Quinn’s work off. He said it looked like a Blind Monkey put it on. We have to buy all new materials to get the job done. If I could find him, I would sue him. But I am sure he goes by a different name now. We have tried to hire The Small Family Business people. But No More. This guy should Not Be Doing Roofs. If there is a positive post I am sure he wrote it. He has cost us so much money. Do not hire this guy.

They were prompt and professional. When they were finished the only way to know that they had been there were the new shingles. They came back out a few months later to check on their work.

If you read Allen's information, he says that he had a business in Raleigh - and that is where I had him do the work on my roof. He begged me for the job, calling me nine times in one day! Since I didn't see any bad reviews for him at that time, I hired him. He did not replace all the sub-roofing that we agreed upon. The workers left a huge mess. He didn't order enough shingles to finish the job, so I had to pay them more to go get additional shingles - then when the job was over and there were six packs of shingles left, they took them all! I called Allen and asked him to return the shingles! He dropped off half a pack in my driveway while I was at work. In less than 15 months, my roof is leaking in both the house and the shed. I have called Allen to get someone out to fix it (since it is still supposed to be covered under his guarantee). He told me he would call me to set up a time for someone to come out. He did not call when he told me he would. I waited three days past the day he said he would call. I called him again. He said someone would be out the following Thursday. I took a half a day off from work to wait around for someone who NEVER showed up. I have called Allen many times since then, but he will not answer and will not return my calls. A man is only as good as his word. This man's word is no good.

Allen came to my house on 11/8/10 to provide me with an estimate on replacing my roof. He arrived 10 minutes prior to our scheduled time, he called when he was on his way, and was the most respectful man I have spoken with in a long time (he called me 'mame' even though I am same age as him). He went out on the roof, spent about 20-30 minutes reviewing, wrote up my estimate and provided me with different options to get the work done at different prices. I decided to do the full roof replacement (tear off). Allen's price of $2250 was the best price I had received; which included labor, material, debris removal and an 'Allen's standard' 15 year labor warranty (I have never seen this before in all of my estimates). Allen did require 50% to start, but it was for the material (he even stated that we could pay for the material directly to the supplier if we were uneasy about it, which we did, but was amazed that Allen was so truthful). Allen started the work on 11/11/10 and was completely done on 11/12/10. We were amazed because it was only Allen and one other worker. Allen did all the roofing himself and is a wonder to see in action on the roof. His skill, craftmanship and passion for his trade is apparrent. When Allen was done, the house looked amazing, like new! Allen provided us with his email address and phone number (again) and reminded us that our invoice served as our warranty (as it clearly shows the warranty). We thanked Allen and provided him with the remaining 50% check (which he asked if we were 100% happy before he would take the check) payable to his company name (which seems to be very rare practice with many of the other estimates we recieved). We are so happy with Allen and his work; we have already recommended him to our neighbors and he is the only reason that I signed up for Angie's List (at his request, so he can get more cliental in the Nashville area).
