In short: Extremely frustrating communication but okay quality. I went to the Floorz store and picked out flooring and carpeting, assisted by the main sales woman. She came out to my house a couple of days later and measured to prepare an estimate. The installation was about a week and a half to 2 weeks later (much longer than I'd been led to believe it would be initially, and I could not move into my house until it was done). Ms. X was maddeningly noncommittal from the beginning and volunteered very little information. It was my first time buying flooring and carpet, so I didn?t know about padding underneath, wear and tear, different types, etc., but I was certain I wanted to get new flooring for my entire house. It was like pulling teeth to get information (one-word answers mostly). She just seemed preoccupie and not at all interested. She came recommended by someone I did business with, so I kept thinking she was just having an off week. She came to the wrong house for the estimate (no fault of mine) and was quite stressed and barely spoke when she finally arrived. They did a good job installing and cleaning up, but 10 months later, two floor transition pieces needed repair (one was popping up, and one had cracks throughout the piece). They have a year warranty on labor, at least. But I took off work especially to be home for this repair, and Ms. X called 6pm the night before to say they "could not find" the piece that was ordered and would have to reschedule. She did not apologize and did not offer ANY explanation whatsoever. Let me say that again - she did not apologize. Not at all -- even after I told her I had taken off work especially. Over the phone I got the equivalent of a shoulder shrug, and it was completely baffling. I was polite and did not press the matter since there was nothing I could do about it anyway. One week went by, and I called back (no updates or calls from Ms. X). The part was ?supposed? to be arriving in a few days. Since I knew a family member was in town and could be at my house for me, I scheduled a tentative appointment for the repair (my suggestion of course). Late afternoon on the day of the supposed delivery of the piece, I again had to call to confirm (!?) They did arrive on time, and finally the work was done. But one of the pieces that was in need of repair still looked the same afterward and still didn?t completely meet the floor. Big surprise, Ms. X didn't call even to check to see if everything went satisfactorily. I don?t want to wait another month and would rather learn how to fix it myself than deal with them any more.
Description of Work: An estimate, then laminate flooring and carpet installation for my 1200-square foot house. The house was empty at the time - I had just bought it and not yet moved in.
