We are really impressed with Patrick's crew and their work. He called me back the day I left a message and came over to give me an estimate. He scheduled the job within 2 weeks. The crew showed up promptly. The top of the wall took quite a bit more demolition than expected but they worked hard to accomplish the job. The wall looks so much better. Patrick suggested a better way to install the new top of the wall that is such an improvement . He came both days to check on the progress--supervision is so important. He is honest, honorable and his crew cleaned up well at the end of the job.
Description of Work: Patrick Drye's crew removed the old crumbling cap on walls of steps from the garage area to the back of our house and then installed a replacement.

Pat contacted us immediately after our initial call to set up an appointment to estimate the job. His bid came in under another comparison so we scheduled the job. We had 3 cracks approximately 3 to 4 ft in length. The crew showed up on time and job took about a half a day to complete. The work is perfection. We cannot even tell where we had cracks. I would certainly recommend this company for this type of repair. Pat is great to work with and his crew is very good.

Patrick Drye, the owner, was fantastic. He and his crew were professional, worked in a timely fashion, finished within the projected time frame, and met the contract agreement. We found Patrick to be easy to work with and straight forward in his estimate. He maintained his professional integrity throughout the job by communicating on a daily basis. In other words, he did what he said he would do with no negative surprises. This characteristic can be difficult to find in today's world. As an aside, Patrick Drye has a wicked sense of humor. We are completely satisfied with the aesthetic look and quality of our entrance, and we have received numerous enthusiastic compliments on its appearance. A+ from the HOA of Redbud -
Description of Work: We hired Artisan Masonry to demolish and rebuild the sub-structure of the wall at our entrance. It was a 40-year-old concrete block wall built on a quarter-circle footprint and covered with stucco. The owner advised us to cover the new wall with a stone veneer material that would last far longer with much less maintenance, he subcontracted this work for us, and he gave us a great idea for how to incorporate an attractive sign into the curved shape.

I apologize [Member], Also i apologize to all who have been neglected. My wife has been very ill and we almost lost her after her recent surgery. She is recovering slowly and still requires constant supervision. Until her illness, she handled the phone calls and many other responsibilities for the company. In recent months i have been overwhelmed with new responsibilities, there are not enough hours in the day to take care of all that is required of me at the present time. We are in the process of hiring more qualified individuals to help us overcome this issue. Please keep my wife April in your thoughts and prayers as we make these adjustments in our life, thank you for your patience and understanding. -Pat Drye Artisan Masonry

Pat with Artisan Masonry was wonderful to work with. I had an idea of what features I wanted, and he took it from their with his creativity. He started exactly when he said he would, and it took as long as he said it would. He was there everyday from early in the morning until mid-afternoon until the work was complete; therefore, he was very reliable. Not just the creativity, but the quality of his work really shows. The new patio matches exactly to the rest of the house; therefore, it doesn't look like an after-the-fact extension of the house. Before finding Pat, I heard horror stories from family, friends, and neighbors who have had new outdoor living spaces put in from other providers. Mostly from deterioration after 1 year, etc. I could tell, the patio is not going anywhere, and will stay as is for a long time. Awesome work! Now, I cannot wait until we have our roof above the new patio finished, so we can enjoy the new space.

They sealed a big crack in our retaining wall, and some other fields and cracks too. They were very thorough and detail oriented. And they wanted to make sure that it was well done and to my liking. The trickiest part was matching the gourd to the existing gourd and they took a lot of steps to make that as good as possible and they came in retreated the area at least one time.

The whole process was as good as it gets. 4-5 day job, showed up on time and their workers work. No issues with anything I was quoted which I really like. Chimney now looks great, have a brick mailbox that will stand the test of time and my wife is happy so that means I am real happy. I would highly recommend without hesitation to anyone.

I am very pleased with the quality of work, professionalism and punctuality of Artisan Masonry. Patrick and his crew arrived on time, were very polite, did excellent work and cleaned up everything prior to leaving. The cracks/separation in the mortar was color matched perfectly. It is not possible to see any of the places they repaired which is exactly what you want. I would not hesitate one second to recommend them very highly.

Our brick repair was not an easy job due to some poor quality initial construction (Artisan had nothing to do with that!!); however, Artisan was able to blend in all their brick repair with existing structures. Pat (the owner) offered excellent suggestions and advice throughout his repair. He took great pains to have his brick work facilitate some of the other ongoing remodeling. Pat and his crew worked quickly and efficiently. They even cleaned up behind themselves! I had never used Angie's list before; therefore, I was a little concerned about finding a mason this way; however, I could not be more pleased! I would highly recommend Artisan Masonry to anyone needing brick work.
Description of Work: Installed brick in a large gap in our recreation building as well as bricking over one of the windows. Artisan Masonry also bricked over an extraneous door at our house, repaired brick under windows, repaired bricking around several door openings as well as several other brick repair projects.

Pat was very response, helpful and knowledgeable. From the first phone call he was was a true professional. The work he and the crew did was excellent. They came in and literally jackhammered a mass of solid concrete for a day and cleaned up so well you would never be able to tell that so much work was done in that area. They arrived promptly every morning and worked on the project until completed three days later. Pat was excellent in finding brick that matched my older home (which I was quite concerned about). The new front entryway looks incredible.

Everything about this job went great. I called Artisan Masonry and my call was promptly returned by the owner, Pat Drye. I described the problem and scheduled a time for Mr. Drye to come out to have a look at my house and give me an estimate on work to repair several cracks that had appeared in the mortar. Responsiveness was great, he even arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule. I am very particular about my house and it was very important to me for the cracks to be repaired, but it was also important that the repair match the original brickwork. Pat assured me that once he was finished that I would not be able to tell that there ever was a problem. He did not disappoint. Once the work was complete, you really could not see the repair. He matched everything perfectly. He did a great job. I would highly recommend Artisan Masonry for tuck point or any other brick work that you might be need. They responded very quickly, quoted a fair price, showed up when scheduled, and did an awesome job.

The 10 foot walls of the original porch were bulging and the concrete slab was buckling. The porch was within months, perhaps weeks, of falling and damaging the entire house. Pat Drye and his masterful crew assessed the damage, engineered a safe and attractive redesign, and replaced the porch. First the roof of the house had to be propped up to prevent it from falling when the porch was torn down. Artisan Masonry took special care in ensuring this job was properly and safely done. Once the crew began tearing out the old top concrete slab it became apparent the two exterior walls were going to fall from internal fractures. The crew pulled the walls safely down and found, as expected, 8 inch block were 12 inch block should have been used, and over two tons of crush and run rock (the type used to be the foundation for road construction). The under laying materials also included construction cast offs (paint cans, boards, nails and debris) which decomposed over the course of time. The crew hauled of this away. The two exterior walls were built with 12 inch block faced with brick and mortar that exactly matched the existing brick and mortar of the rest of the house. The under supports for the concrete slab was a solid piece of corrugated steel, with the re-enforced underpinnings secured to all four walls. The concrete slab was poured and set. The work was clean, exact and attractive to the eye. To finish the work the crew constructed new posts and rails, replacing the wooden stairs that once protruded straight out onto the sloping back yard, with stairs that hug and are secured into the new back wall. Of course we wholeheartedly recommend Pat Drye and the masterful crew of Artisan Masonry for any masonry job one would need. They do it right, they do it beautifully, and they build to last. Clearly, once they do a job, it will never need to be done again. High professional standards, quality design, and promptness are the hallmarks of this provider. We are very pleased with the result!!
Description of Work: We had an open porch at the back of our house, which the builder had built with inferior materials and because the construction was far from meeting Tennessee code and safety standards, after ten years were ready to fall from its own flawed design. Artisan Masonry replaced the porch using quality materials and proper, safe and legal designs. Not only was the porch rebuilt to Tennessee code and standards, it’s design exceeded our highest expectations. The wood posts and railings from the old porch needed replacing at the while the porch was being rebuilt, and Artisan Masonry replaced these as well. Not only did the reconstructed porch fit the architectural design of the house, but the brick and mortar matched the other brick and mortar of the house. Even when the replacement bricks are pointed out, it is hard to tell the old from the new.

I would, and probably will, hire them again. These are good, hard-working, Southern boys. Patrick returned my call promptly, ended up getting there to give me a quote the next day, and had the work done the following day. They did a very professional job. They took a lot of care in properly matching the mortar color - you can hardly tell it was repaired. Price was good and fair - for both sides.

Pat and Paul were very professional and did an extraordinary job on our house. There are people out there that JUST do a job but these guys take great pride in their work. They made bold claims about their ability to repair our broken seams and stairs and readily proved that they aren't just all talk (you can't tell where the old cracks were... they are THAT good) If we ever have need of a mason again in the future, these guys are our first pick. Thanks guys for a job well done!

It's all in the pics. check out his website. from beast to beauty I love my new fireplace.
Description of Work: I was looking for a new fireplace built to replace the existing in my living room. I had no idea how or what it would cost. I had several in person quotes before meeting Pat. I quickly began to trust his opinion and his work ethic. I have put a lot of work in remodeling this living room and wanted someone that understood my goals. After several ideas passed back and forth I finally gave the keys to this car to the professional. I trusted his knowledge and experience and let him work out the details on his own. During the construction he was free to make changes as he saw fit. The Fireplace came out better than I had imagined. I am so pleased with his final product. The new fireplace is is fantastic and unique , I love it!!Pat is exactly as he advertised when we met. Very skilled in his craft and knows what works. I had too be out of town during the entire construction and felt completely comfortable. The new Fireplace is amazing and all that have seen it agree. Awesome!!! thanks Pat and Team you guys did great ! Ill be using you all again I'm sure. Did I mention the price was very reasonable compared to the other estimates. I was actually worried it was too low.

Pat is very pleasant to work with, as well as punctual and a talented craftsman. He had originally built my brick mailbox a few years ago and did an outstanding job, as well as repairing some brick work on the house. The mailbox was vandalized and had to be torn down about halfway. The brick had to be matched, and then the mailbox had to be rebuilt. Pat patiently reattached the spring loaded flag that signals when the mail has been delivered, after figuring out how to configure it around the different trim on the new mailbox. Pat is a pleasure to work with, does excellent work, and can be counted on to do what he says he will do. He is not only a craftsman but also a gentleman. I highly recommend both him and his work.
