Very responsive local folks.

The price just kept going up and I decided to look elsewhere.I found Carls Garbage Service for $51 dollars a quarter and I do not have to roll the container to the street.I haven't been using this service long enough to review them yet but I do know that I was paying $354 dollars a year and now I am paying $204 dollars a year.That is a good savings to me.

Last year I called because I noticed I was being charged $7.50 per quarter for something called "optional replacement fee." I was told I would have this "optional" (I never signed up for it) charge removed and be credited $22.50 for 3 quarters' worth of erroneous fees. I never received that credit and continued to be charged those fees in addition to my cost per quarter for recycling and pickup going up and up. Today I called to once again speak about the fees and overcharges and was told I could only be charged the price quoted per month if I agreed to a 2-year contract. No way. I was also told the $30 per quarter "fuel and environmental fee" was not negotiable because that was meant to keep the trucks in "tip-top shape" and for them to avoid getting fines at the landfills. I would think such items would be included in the per-month price. When I then cancelled service, the customer service rep raised his voice, changed his tone, and made me feel uneasy. He told me that I would be charged a prorated fee because I was cancelling "in the middle of the quarter." The quarter began 2/1/13, and today is 2/3/13. I could not figure out how that was "the middle of the quarter," and tried to question it, but the rep kept raising his voice and talking over me. He finally said I would be sent a bill for those 2 days of the quarter. I was then transferred to accounts to make sure they would not continue to ACH/autocharge me. This transaction took almost 27 minutes.

WM bought out my last trash company and my service has been awful ever since. The last complaint I have with them is they changed my pickup day without notifying me or my neighbors. I was with the company they bought out for over 8 years and always had my trash picked up at my garage. Now it is street pickup. I have been informed that they charge extra for backing down your driveway 100 feet. ...again without notifying me. When you call in to talk to them expect a minimum of 10 minute wait time EVERY time you call and if you want to talk to supervisor expect to wait 10 more minutes. In 5 weeks they missed picking up my trash 2 times. When this cycle runs out which is always prepaid for 3 MONTHS another company will be picking up my trash. WM is without a doubt the worst trash service I have had in 40 years and my business is going to somebody that cares about customer service because WM does not!!!!

I was satisfied with WM's services. However, in the last four billing periods, the bill escalated each period. I never received an email or a notification that the price would increase for whatever reason it was increased. When I called WM to tell them that they did not appear to be competitive in pricing with other pick-up services, the representative told me to put my bins out for regular pick-up and they would cancel the contract. Just like that. I guess they don't need my business.

I have been using Waste Management for about 5 years. They do what they are supposed to. They have always taken the stuff in the garbage. They bring a canister for your garbage to go into.

I had a problem with one thing. They missed picking up my recycle one time as it was a holiday. I called them a couple of days later and told them that they had missed the pickup. I was expecting that they would come back and pick it up but they said they had missed it this time and would collect it in two weeks. Unfortunately, that was a period of time that I had lots of stuff to be picked up. So I had to carry it myself to the recycle station which was about 10-12 miles away.. I was kind of displaced but I guess it is their policy. But it left a bad taste in the mouth. Other than this incident they are always punctual and they are professional except for the office person who dealt with my call. I felt he was not customer focused. I would continue using their service.

We've used their services for quite a number of years. They've been easy to deal with and we haven't had any problems or issues. Anytime the day they supposed to come out falls on a holiday, they call in advance to let us know when they'll be by to pick up the trash.

I'm not certain how much we pay; I guess the price is good or we wouldn't have contracted with them. We just started with them but so far, so good.
