MIKE'S BLACKTOP PAVING

Description of Work: We had a rather long rock driveway and with kids it was time to pave. I did a lot of homework and found that price was a minor factor. In speaking with our county's highway dept he gave me some excellent info and a few secrets.. Mike was recommended by a few other contacts in the business.. Mike came out and gave me an estimate and told me exactly what he was going to do. First he came in and removed all the rocks from the driveway. After that he came in and laid down a good solid road base (very important part of the job). He laid down a good 5" base and packed it down. After a few days in came in and laid the Blacktop. After talking to some of the people who know the in's and out's of Blacktop he was about the only one who did what the experts said NEEDS to be done as far as preparing the job before laying the blacktop, and using quality materials.

Description of Work: Removed gravel driveway and set down a layer of underlayment (can't remember what's it called, but it's not stone). Lade 3 inches of blacktop and installed drains at the base of the garage to take water away as the top of the driveway flooded with heavy rains. Our driveway is 230 Ft long, 12 Ft wide with a big apron at the top. He also paved a walkway to the back yard from the driveway.
