They came out and found out what was wrong with my hot water heater. I had to call them to find out when they were coming to fix the problem. They rescheduled my appointment 3 times and they asked if I could have one of my elderly neighbors to come let them into my house so they could do the repair. I get off work at 3:30 but was told that was too late for them to come. They are very hard to work with and very unorganized as far as scheduling repairs. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Installation was fine, but in the process, some loose ductwork evidently fell down where it was very hard to see in the attic. We didn't notice that the master bedroom wasn't receiving cool air until after the service guys had gone. We called the office and let the owner's wife know, and then found ourselves waiting 8 days for them to come back. It was a simple fix, that we just couldn't see for ourselves, and not knowing anything about air conditioning, we had no idea what was wrong. They finally returned after several more phone calls, quickly hooked up the ductwork, made it more stable, and it was much better, but it shouldn't have taken over a week. The bottom line from our point of view was that we didn't intend to pay $5000 just for a new unit, we paid $5,000 for our house to be cool, and it wasn't, for over a week, in the middle of the Summer. The unit still doesn't cool all that well, but that appears to be more of a design flaw in the way the house was built than anything else. I sure won't call them to seek advice though!

Excellent experience with this company! They were highly respsonsive and very professional!!
Description of Work: During the recent heat wave our downstairs AC unit began struggling to cool efficiently. Upon contacting Fast Lane they immediately scheduled an appointment for the following morning. They arrived on-time, introduced themselves and immediately demonstrated their competency in making a diagnosis. We happened to be leaving town that very afternoon, it was a Holiday Weekend(4th of July),and they made every attempt possible to locate a fan motor for us. Unfortunately, our model's availibility was very limited, and since we were leaving town it wasn't a big deal since we wouldn't be in the house anyway. Upon return from our trip they installed the part and completed the repair as they had promised and we had cool air again! Their customer service representative, Jennifer, was in communication with us throughout the process and their service technicians Bennie, Mike, and Jim were superbly courteous, knowledgable, and extremely competent. I will highly reccomend Fast Lane to all my friends and neighbors. It is increasingly rare to find a company that is this highly committed to providing exceptional customer service at a fair price!

Our A/C broke on a Friday during a severe heatwave. Fast Lane Mechanical (FM) was hired on Saturday by our home warranty company, First American (FA), to repair the unit. When FM came out they determined a new condenser was needed and left to call it in. On Monday, we had heard nothing and called FA. They said that FM had not called in the serial number for the unit needing a coil. The tech had forgot to look for it on Saturday. No problem, supposedly, as FM convinced FA we needed a complete new system, so the number was unnecessary. This was all supposedly an emergency because of the heat. On Tuesday, FA informed us that the parts were in and had been picked up. FM's secretary confirmed (which the owner debates, but *what possible motive* could we have had to lie when we were trying to get these people to help us?) and said that it could possibly be installed that afternoon, but probably Wednesday. On Wednesday, we had heard nothing from FM, so we called in the afternoon and the secretary said that we had been bumped and that they might be there later. We did not hear from them again. On Thursday at 8am, FM called to say that it was raining (it wasn't here) and they had to see whether the rain held off and they would call at noon to see when if they could get there between noon and 4pm. It rained at noon for 20 minutes then cleared and dried. By 2pm we had (again) not heard from FM, and we called them. We called again and asked why they did not come out, and they said it was raining. When I said "not here" I was told that they were not far away and that it had, indeed, been raining, implying that we were lying about the weather. I was told that they would get extra persons on the job and do it Friday afternoon, since I could not take another morning off from work waiting for them. A little later the owner called and said that he did not want to do that, as they had commercial work to do, and that they were going to call FA and tell them to get someone else to do it. The owner was extremely passive-aggressive, both apologizing and getting very snippy when told about the lack of communication of his company and about the way that they kept shoving jobs off. We were told that "many persons' AC had failed", implying we should grin and bear it. However, that is irrelevant because those other persons whose AC had failed had not been told since Tuesday by FM that they were going to be "next." I used to work as a carpenter for a general contractor and I know the way many contractors overbook and shove their schedule. It is quite maddening to be on the receiving end of that game. At this point, we are 6 days into having no AC during a heatwave and FM gave up on us because, evidently, the one morning I could not take off work (I had wasted a day and a half already waiting for them) was the only time they could come. It is appalling customer service and a complete absence of any ethics to quit a job after it's scheduling becomes "inconvenient."
