Description of Work: He cleaned up my garden shrubs around the pond and patio. He also trimmed hedges. The clean up went well he arrived with a crew that zapped through the work in no time making it easy for me to maintain.

Description of Work: I almost don't want to review ZCo because I feel like the company is a secret gem that I want to keep to myself. However, that isn't the point of Angie's List so here goes... I'm a Realtor and have used ZCo for my personal homes as well as using them for clients' homes for years now. Their services were recommended to me by my brother-in-law who is a contractor. I've used Ian Zelnik (the head plumber and full mechanical) since '07. I've come to learn that he runs the company with his brother. Although I've now used ZCO for plumbing, remodeling, landscaping, electrical work, and general handyman projects I'll keep this review to a plumbing project and remodeling project they recently completed. PLUMBING Several years ago my kitchen sink was leaking so I called ZCO and another "well known" company who has a lot of commercials. The other company wanted to charge me a bunch of money just to show up, without fixing anything. Upon the recommendation of my brother-in-law, I called ZCO. Ian showed up on time, was very professional, showed me the problem, fixed it, and charged me about the same amount the other company wanted JUST TO SHOW UP. He told me up front that he charges $65/hr with no additional service charges just to show up. The kicker is that about a week later the leak showed up again. I called ZCO on a Wednesday evening. Ian came out that evening (after business hours) fixed the issue (which was due to original installation), didn't charge me anything additional, and even fixed something else that I didn't know about! Talk about professional service and honesty! REMODELING Fast forward to this summer...I just purchased a house that was built in the 50's and hasn't been maintained since...the 50's. ZCo (Ian, once again) transformed a second story bedroom into a laundry/craft room (my wife wanted a laundry room on the same floor with the bedrooms). Ian installed new plumbing, electrical, and exterior drain pipe, re-routed from the basement to the second story, and installed the washer and dryer...AND he even built an anti-vibration pad (out of a rubber mat & plywood) for the front-end loading washer to sit on in order to limit vibrations below. Of course I paid him to build it, but the whole-solution approach is why I've called ZCo for anything plumbing or remodeling related. Multiple times, instead of up charging or up-selling me on certain items I thought I wanted Ian has showed me a less expensive, longer-lasting solution. I can't say enough about how much I've come to trust ZCo to do the right thing for all of my plumbing and remodeling issues. I'm not related to anyone at ZCo, get no spiffs for referrals, or have any reason to recommend them other than they are a very trustworthy company that I've experienced does a great job at a price that is lower than other companies who spend a lot of money on expensive ads.
