They even helped my neighbor while they were here since she stepped outside to tell them she was about to call for their service. They helped her on the spot.

They respond to phone calls promptly, are extremely reasonable in price, explain everything which needs to be done & make sure I agree to the work & price before they start. I keep their phone number on the wall of the garage right above the opener switch so I have it handy if I ever need it. These gentlemen are excellent! If you have ever been trapped with a garage door that absolutely will not lift, you know you need help Pronto! Watkins will come through for you & you will have a smoothly functioning door in no time.
Description of Work: I've used the Watkins family 3 times for the garage door: 9/2013 to fix it (it wouldn't lift), 5/14 to do a maintenance servicing which involved upgrading the bearings, oiling, aligning, and again in 11/15 when it broke & needed more work.

+ -1 moreThey were awesome--on time, worked fast and most of all, came on Saturday the same morning I called. The spring on my garage door snapped at 11 p.m. My car was inside and I wasn't sure I could open the door to get it out--trapped! I called Watkins first thing in the morning and they were here 45 minutes later. They replaced the spring, reviewed the rest of the door and replaced the bulb in the garage door opener. I definitely recommend them.

Description of Work: We had a severe ice storm. I thought the garage door would have to be replaced. He came within less than 24 hours and he was early. They fixed it within 30 minutes. They put new braces on the door and it fixed the problem.

Description of Work: We were having trouble with our garage door closing. We would have to push the button several times to get it to close all the way, and the problem seemed to be getting worse. I couldn't reach the garage door repair person we had used before, so I called Watkins Garage Door since they had been so highly rated on Angie's List. | |I was very pleased with their work. I called them that morning, and they came to my house as promised a few hours later. Both the father and son were very pleasant and seemed well-informed about garage doors. They found the problem -- a gear-like part that was clearly breaking down and had become wobbly. In addition to replacing that part, they noticed that we had a part of our garage door we had tried to fix with duct tape. They pointed out that the door was starting to warp and suggested they add a metal support bracing so I wouldn't have to replace the panel or the entire door down the road. This only added $40 to my bill, and I truly believe it saved me future money and headache. | |These two services cost me $185 total. In addition, they adjusted my door because the tension was off after a repair someone else did, changed the burnt out light bulb, and swapped out a broken sensor and frayed wiring with some used parts they had on hand -- all without charging me any extra. | |I have had another provider repair my door twice before, and both times it was more expensive for less work. I am so glad that I wasn't able to reach my former provider because I felt like the Watkins did a much better job for less money. I would definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreThis father and son service is great!! We had another contractor tell us we needed a total door replacement. Watkins came out the next day and told us it was just our pulleys. They charged us 75 for the call out and 30 for the parts. The pulleys did the trick! Door is working perfectly now! Our realtor has used them for years and they are who we will now use for our garage doors. Very honest and quick. The door was fixed within 24 hours of calling Watkins.

Description of Work: 18 yr old Garage Door Unit was not working properly. We thought we would ahve to replace it. He came in told us the unit just needed a new computer circuit board. He replaced that and performed maintenace on this door and our other one. Maintenace included checking everything. Oiling and cleaning the wheels. Both door work great now and operate quieter. Honest hardworking folks! Thanks Mr. Watkins!
