Lee Company

I wasn?t very pleased with them because he just came out and dumped some Freon in rather than diagnosing the problem correctly. My problem wasn?t that the air wasn?t cool, it was that there wasn?t enough air coming out. He wanted to sell me on a thousand dollars worth of repairs on a unit that is under warranty. They came out the next day so they were responsive, and they showed up when they were supposed to.

The technicians are always professional and neat. They cover their shoes before coming into the house. I would recommend them.

They were very professional and did good work.

They have been very good. I?m not sure about their pricing so I?m still looking at other people, but I think for the services they?ve provided they have been exceptional. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

They are highly competent and easy to deal with. They are very nice, intelligent folks. The work was done when they said it would be. They didn?t look like the subcontractor persona of somebody that shows up with long hair often in a ponytail that hasn't shaved in weeks and doesn't show up on time and doesn't return phone calls. There was none of that. They were very professional and nice people to deal with. I looked at some other figures but I wanted it done right. I knew other people who had used them and were very happy. They are not the most expensive or the least expensive. I never go with the least expensive because I am afraid of that.

We have used Lee Company for a number of years--for plumbing (this report), heating/cooling (maintenance on old unit for years and replaced with new unit in fall 2009), and electrical (replaced old main panel, meterbase, upped service to 200 amp, proper ground outside, and whole home surge protector in May 2010)--and this experience was no different than any we have had with them. Excellent! The project managers, service techs, and skilled installers are very professional. If and when (rare) we have had problems after a job, they are very prompt to respond and correct the problem (at no charge). Not really sure how Lee compares price-wise with other companies, but you get what you pay for--and Lee is quality in the areas of electrical, plumbing, and heating/air.

the repair person first said something like, oh, this looks pretty bad and complicated, so that he could jack up the price. then he backed off when he realized that he couldn't get away with that. price was $75 for coming out to the house, I think, and another $40 or so for the first half hour. he did a good job, though.

Very easy-going salesman. No high pressure sales tactics. He answered all my questions and actually encouraged me to buy a lower priced alternative. He explained that there really was no difference in quality between higher and lower priced units unless I got an HVAC. He could have easily conned me into a higher priced unit, but ended up working with me and coming in about $200 lower than a competitor. We discussed various options and he gave me the pros and cons of each.

Estimates comparable to others. Worked with MTEMC to get low-interest financing. They have kept 22 year old unit working long past what was expected. have used them to replace outside faucets, repair on washer, wiring for new oven. Work is always professional, timely. Great people to work with. A little pricey, but you DEFINITELY get what you pay for.

Estimator came out one evening. Gave us an estimate on running the new pipe to upstairs and downstairs bathrooms, but was really more interested in up selling us on a water conditioner. Feeling very pressured we agreed to the up sell. Next day we cancelled the $1,000 water conditioner. When the project manager came, he told us all the destruction that would need to be done with the new pipes to upstairs. The magnitude of this was not discussed during the estimate time and we found out was not included in the estimate. They did an ok job with the downstairs pipe, but left a mess under my sink where they tore out a shelf. Also broke the faucet in the laundry-room installing it. They said it broke because it was cheap. Lee sent us a bill for the original estimate and not for the reduced work that was done. Not sure how they came up with the new amount. Not a great experience. I have used Lee on several occasions, but have a sour taste from this experience. Estimator was in full sales mode and not in customer service mode? in my opinion

As usual, we could depend on Lee Co.for prompt service. We have always found their workmen to be knowledgeable and capable.

The floor installed by Lee is another issue. A CRACK has already appeared in the grout between two of the tiles. And there is a gap between the floor and the molding installed by Lee. All in all, it is a sloppy remodeling job.

Lee Company had previously installed my HVAC unit, and did some ductwork repair. I was happy with both of those experiences, so I called when I had the issue with my water heater. Donald Taylor came out the day that I called, on time. He went into my crawlspace, looked at my water heater briefly, and said that it was toast, and that it looked like it had smoked, even. He also went ahead and briefly looked at the furnace (not his area) and told me that that too would need to be entirely replaced. He then wrote me an estimate of $1,165.50 (I was appalled - water heaters at Lowes or Home Depot range from $250-$550 or so, and it turns out that installation from Lowes is around $250) and made it sound like I was getting a "flood victim discount" of $129.50 (as if that really helps, at that point) and that they would soon run out of water heaters so I should decide quickly. I then looked on Angie's list to get a second estimate. Called Republic Plumbing Heating & Cooling, and they said they could come out first thing the next morning. A technician also got on the phone with me and said that he thought it could definitely be repaired rather than replaced, and that I should also just try resetting the switch at the fuse box. I did, and it worked. My water heater was fine and the Lee Company representative hadn't even tried that. I will definitely use Republic in the future, and will never use Lee for water heater installation/repair. I will also always double-check Lee's estimates.

We are using somebody else for the plumbing work. They did a great job. They were very punctual and on time. They were very nice guys. It was a little more difficult of a project than they had originally thought, but they stuck to their original quote. I had checked around at some of the other electronic stores and their price was a little bit better. The price was on target.

they came promptly, reviewed situation, replaced outside faucet that had been dripping, then asked about other problems. They replaced old hoses on washing machine.

They were quick and professional. Fixed the problem right up.

They said the part was no longer available and that they could not fix it but we still had to pay the service fee. We had another company come out who was able to get the part and fix the oven.

They check the whole thing and they have a whole list of things to look for. They are very professional and they put the little covers on their shoes when they come inside. They come when they say they will come and they call me before they are expected to let me know they are on their way. I have some friends that use them for electrical work but I just use them for my furnace and air conditioning.

I was happy with their services. The rates were really reasonable. I wouldn't say anything necessarily stood out, except that the person was very nice and helpful, especially for someone who doesn't know a lot about that type of work.

I use to use them all of the time. Now I don't feel that they are honest. The plumber treated me like I was stupid. I know the plumbing history in my home, and I didn't need him to tell me that I didn't understand it. They charged me for things that were not done. I called the manager and got a partial rebate. I am now looking for another company.

My experience with them has been very good. They?ve been able to answer any questions that I have had. They do maintenance visits regularly, which I appreciate. Their last visit was a free maintenance visit. I would use them in the future.

The service contract check-up was quite thorough. - The HVAC tech (Will) checked (2) units, added coolant, cleaned the systems, cycled them in heat mode and checked pressures and amps, even replaced an air filter that was waiting for us to install it. He was very quick and professional. - The electrical tech (Wladimir) removed the main panel cover and checked tightness of all connections, found (2) places where wire insulation had rubbed against screws and repaired these, tested all ground-fault circuits in the house (at least six), advised of the reset locations one of which was not obvious, checked HVAC disconnects in the attic and outside units, checked for any unsafe wiring in attic and crawlspace. Tested operation of (5) smoke detectors in the house. Provided a report with main meter number and details of all checks made including incoming voltages. Recommended installing a whole-house surge protector behind the meter for $399. A very thorough inspection. - The plumbing tech (Mike) checked condition of all sinks, W/D, water heater, and toilets. Went in the crawl space and checked the plumbing installation. Reported standing water in the crawl space. Recommended several upgrades to builder's quality plumbing, which we agreed to and the work was performed 2-days later. We had not experienced any real issues with the plumbing, but were concerned about 1) the water heater quality, 2) the upstairs toilet/sinks due to a lot of use by our grandchildren. On 12/30/2009, the work listed in the field above was completed. The techs arrived 45-min early and had to wait for us to get ready. One tech installed the new hot water heater while Mike installed the toilet, new flush kits and hoses. He was careful and laid down a work rub at his various work areas. Both techs wore shoe covers while in the house. They finished up in 2.5 hours, cleaned up the work areas, tested the connections and were gone. Well done and we are happy with the upgrades to our house. We received a 5% discount on the new water heater, and a 10% discount on the other work because of having a service contract with the Lee Company.

I had a leaky bathtub faucet, which I attempted to fix twice myself previously. The surface-level cause is a poorly-designed part (the bathtub pipes behind the wall are a bizarre setup), so my fixes worked for only a few months. The third time the leak appeared, knowing something else was the root cause, I requested Lee Company assess the problem. Scheduling was easy and was 1:00-3:00, the repair person called about 2:15 that he was on his way, and he arrived approximately 2:30. He was very courteous and used shoe covers and drop cloths to avoid dirtying up the house with his shoes and tools. I recounted my fixes thus far, and he took a look at the setup. The setup also baffled him, so he consulted a few reference books and his manager. They finally identified that the setup was a very uncommon, non-standard (and European) design. He offered to temporarily fix the problem by performing the fix that I had already done twice, which I declined. However, he recommended replacing the whole setup with a standard design, so he priced that work to be $700, describing exactly what would be done (removing drywall, cutting off the old setup, welding on a new setup, and then installing a removable panel rather than drywall, so we could avoid having to re-drywall). I declined the extra work, due mostly to my tight financial situation, and I also want to get another estimate. But, as I told him I would suffice with my recurring temporary $10 fix for a while, he didn't pressure me to purchase the extra work right then. Overall, it was a very good customer-friendly experience, which matches what I had heard from others and read on Angie's List.

Two men from the company (at least one of them was a water heater specialist) came out on the same day we called them. They worked quickly and accurately. The water has stayed hot when we turn it on.

They did a good job when they came out in October. They come out promptly and they are careful, as they wear their little shoes on when they get the work done. I might use their services in the future, but I am also going to call other companies for more estimates.
