Every time he's worked for me he has done an excellent job. He shows up on time and he cleans up. I have used him several times. The pricing was great.

The work has held up. They are very professional, competent and easy to work with. They do a very good job and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I could not have been happier with Glen. He is friendly, but most importantly he shows up on time. I found his prices to be a little on the high side, but I have found with the cheaper contractors you often get what you pay for. We were very happy with all of his work, and it was always completed when promised.

I would say hire him. He does excellent work. Him and his crew are excellent. It's like a big family, diverse skills. He has the best working with him. Totally trustworthy, reliable, totally ready to listen to my questions, great communication, punctuality, neatness, quality of material used, innovated, constructive ideas on how to do things, better alternatives to what I am thinking. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

He was very good and punctual. Everything he quoted me for, he did. He did a little extra work that he didn't anticipate in the estimate and he didn't charge me for it. I called about 4 different contractors, 2 of them showed up. They were only $5 apart, so I went with him. His price was good.

I cannot say enough good things about Glen and his team! We had a 2 year old daughter and 2 lively dogs, when we decided to finish our entire basement, approximately 1200 square feet. My husband is in the real estate industry, so we wanted very high end work that wouldn't break our bank. We got A LOT of bids and had a lot of interviews, since it was a bigger project. Glen and his team were the most professional, respectful, clean, highest quality of work we've ever had. (We've had several contractors work on our house prior to Glen and his group), and will continue to use him in the future! My husband and I both work full time, with a toddler, so we needed not only a group that was going to give us high quality of work at a reasonable price, but was trustworthy, could clean up after themselves each day, etc. Glen and his group consistently went above and beyond in doing so and even added some complimentary details, that I had wanted at the end! They made the whole process go as easy, smooth and convenient for us as possible. His estimate was extremely accurate, as was his timeline. One aspect I really liked about Glen was that he was very upfront on costs, broken down in detail and his estimate was right inline with what we ended up spending, minus some additional costs of me wanting to "just add one more thing." Even when I did so, Glen was very upfront and honest as to exactly how much it would cost and other areas that we could change, to stay with in budget if possible. He also offered suggestions to enhance our plans and make the space more functional, even in small details, that didn't change the estimate/budget at all and I really appreciated him for that and for sharing his expertise. As far as the quality of work / workmanship, we couldn't be happier! We still get compliments on our basement, to this day! We've had other builders come to give estimates on remodeling our kitchen and each one has complimented us on our basement and wanted to know who did the work! (We've decided to go with Glen in remodeling our kitchen this summer). I would highly recommend Glen Hutchison Inc.!

He was very nice and his price was right in line with other prices that I have gotten. I really liked him and I thought he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He corrected some information that other people gave me. He had good ideas about the porch and he looked at things very carefully so he could give me more ideas and suggestions. He was very sweet and he told me on the phone that his prices for hardwood floors may be higher but he would like to come and talk to me anyway. He was very honest, he was right on time, and he is very professional.

This company's crew was very professional and not intrusive. Work was completed on schedule and the quality was superb! We requested a custom built teak spa bench for the shower and it surpassed our expectations; the carpenter did a beautiful job. The tile work is the best that we have ever seen. When there was a problem with the quality of work from a subcontractor, the contractor resolved the issue to our satisfaction and absorbed the additional expense. We were completely satisfied with the quality of the work and the cost. This is the only contractor that we will ever use again.

They told us it would take a couple of weeks before they were available to do the work. Replaced it and everything looks great. No mess left behind after they finished.

He ended up being a general contractor. He probably could have told us on the phone that he does flooring as a part of the whole remodeling job. His price was higher for the job. I wanted somebody who just did flooring. My overall experience was satisfactory. He gave me the information that I needed. He was very honest and upfront, but it must have been a little bit of waste of time for both of us. However, his estimate isn't really competitive just for a flooring job because his mark-up is probably higher. He basically subcontracts for floors. There would be his mark-up on top of what the floor is. He came out, gave me some information and gave me an estimate, but it was high. He was honest about the mark-up. I didn’t get a written estimate. He probably would have made sure that whoever did the job would have done a good job, but it would have been expensive. I would consider getting an estimate from Glen Hutchison Inc. for something like kitchen remodeling.

It went well. I noticed some rot in the door jamb and knew it needed fixing. I sent Glen some pictures and he advised me to replace the entire jamb rather than trying to fill in with epoxy. His crew member Jeremy took care of it in a day, using a PVC replacement jamb. The PVC was expensive, but in my opinion well worth it in this case because the door gets a lot of weather exposure and was bound to rot again otherwise. Jeremy also replaced trim on a couple of windows while he was here. The repair has been just fine in the six months since.

We found Glen on Angie's list, called him and explained a problem with a flourescent fixture we had in a pantry which ran off an electric eye switch. His technician was professional, very into his job to the point of doing some extra research to be sure that his fix would indeed fix the problem, bought the new fixture, installed it. Would definitely use the company again, they are a pleasure to deal with. Before sending the bill, Glen called to make sure that we were pleased with the work. We're currently in need of some plumbing help and will be calling Glen for that too.

They were neat, hardworking, very knowledgeable and careful around my house. Work was scheduled and completed exactly in schedule and in budget. I intend to use Glen Hutchison for as much as I can in the future.

We'd been putting off for years the replacement of the spec-grade door that was originally installed in the house and finally decided to replace it when both cold air and daylight came streaming through the door in equal, and unpleasant, quantities. Found Glen's company on Angie's List and had him bid the job based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. It was a good move. 1) Set an appointment for Glen to see the project and measure the door opening; we already had a door and door hardware picked out. Glen came out when he said he would, made measurements and said he'd be back in touch within the week. 2) He contacted us with a written quote (email) about 2 days later. His pricing seemed high to us at the time, mainly because we've never hired out this kind of work. However, as the project went on, I feel sure that the pricing was fair. At the time, we had picked out a rather expensive lockset. Glen steered us toward a more reasonably priced, and appropriate for our neighborhood, option. 3) Glen's company is busy because Glen's company does good work. He had just picked up a large contract and was not going to be able to work us in for at least 4 weeks. That was fine with us. 4) Snow and a staining issue (more later) pushed the workstart back a week. Again, that was fine with us. Ours was not an urgent project (we had a door, just not a good solid one) and the extra time ended up helping me out because the first lockset I ordered was the wrong size for the door. My mis-measurement, BTW, not his. 5) We chose a fiberglass door for durability, structural integrity and because we would be seeking the energy tax credit. I don't know if Glen had installed fiberglass doors before, but the first coat of stain his guy Jeremy laid down did not look good. No slam on Jeremy's brush skills ... the finish just looked wrong in both Jeremy's opinion and ours. However, Glen contacted us and talked through the issue. The resolution was to strip the first coat of bad stain off the door and re-apply two new coats using the manufacturer's stain kit, which had all the materials needed to stain a fiberglass door. NOTE: Normal gel stain did NOT work on our door, despite advice that Glen got and we found online to the contrary. So if you choose to go with a fiberglass door, make sure to ask, explicitly, whether the manufacturer recommends a formulated-for-fiberglass stain). This was the only semi-hiccup in the entire project. Glen came and picked up the door so they could stain and paint it in his shop, and while the lost day's labor, cost of the wrong stain and purchase of the manufacturer's kit were not in his original estimate, he absorbed the costs in the interest of making it right. We were very pleasantly surprised at that. 6) Work day. Glen called to confirm the workstart and had a two-man crew waiting at our front door right on time. They brought the door with them (which looked amazing!) and started work. They were friendly, efficient, well-qualified and clearly capable of handling the project. 7) They cleaned as they went, stopping about every half-hour to vacuum. Our foyer is actually cleaner now that when they started. 8) As they got into the project, it became clear some additional work had to be done in order to make a storm door fit. Glen immediately called, talked me through the options and got permission to spend the extra estimated dollars. 9) They finished the door 8 hours after they started and it looks like it's been there forever. That's due in large part to little details ... cutting the paint and caulk away from the dry wall before pulling the moulding. Using white, brown and clear caulk on the joints and sills. 10) A final clean-up and the project was done. None of the cats escaped and they did all the work while my wife and I were away from the house at a doctor's appointment. 11) Very professional, very punctual, very clean on the worksite. Couldn't be happier.

They spent two days working on three different areas where we had experienced leaks. They did excellent work and were extremely professional.

I spoke to the owner and in the 1st few seconds of the conversation found that he did not offer service in my area. Regardless, he 1) asked me about the needed repair in detail, 2) gave me lots of VERY helpful info/terminology to use when I called someone else, 3) mentioned things to watch out for when choosing who to hire, 4) gave me a really accurate ballpark estimate of what I could expect on prices, and 5) recommended someone closer to me who may service my area or at least have a better idea who would. He did all this knowing after only a few seconds that he would not be getting any money from me. This guy is absolutely AWESOME! Not many service pros would take time to do all that over the phone, let alone for free, and surely not with the advanced knowledge that he was not even talking to a potential customer. That is why I feel good about telling you all what a stand up guy he is. I wish he serviced my area.

He was very conscientious as a contractor and very responsive. He came out at least twice to plan the project and give some ideas. I didn?t feel pressured that he was up selling me a fancier product. He made sure that I got what I wanted. He cut me a deal on the hardware of the door. He did some patch work on the drywall and didn?t charge for. He was very good about making sure to followup until everything was totally completed. We were gone when he actually did the work. He had done a very nice job when we returned. He had cleaned up nicely and was very careful. His subcontractor was very conscientious about keeping the room clean when he was doing the work. Overall his price was higher than lot of other places.

Glen was easy to get in touch with, friendly, and very helpful. He diagnosed the problem on an initial visit and rigged up a temporary fix. His crew came a few weeks later to do the bulk of the work. They did a complete and careful job and I've had no problems in the six months since. Perhaps I could have found someone to fix it for less, but the price was quite reasonable considering the high level of professionalism I saw from Glen and his crew.

Everything went very smoothly. We had problems with cabinets and counters and they helped intervene even though we had contracted with them separately. They worked continuously on our project except to allow the other people to install things. They always left the work site clean. Glen was very accessible and helpful when we had questions. We gave Glen's crew a key and felt very comfortable with them coming and going while we were at work. They asked us what hours they could work and started and stopped accordingly.

He came out promptly within a couple of days and gave us an estimate and I was pleased with that process. They came in with the highest bid, but there wasn?t anything wrong with that. We did not go with them because was just that we decided to go with the original contractor.

After getting estimates from a variety of companies, I thought I would give Glen a shot since I had already made my mind up on a painter. He, being a contractor, may be higher just by the virtue of the percentage he needs in order to make things happen. I was pleasantly surprised at the quote, beat everyone else and the work got started quickly. The Painters were there at 7AM sharp and worked until 3:30PM each and every day until the job was done. I also had carpentry work done to some rotted eves and sffits. Excellent work and people!

The quote was fine. He was very responsive. I just decided to go with another option, to repair.

He got back to me quickly. He was very pleasant and very nice. The estimate was pretty low, which was good. I liked him, but I went with a company that was more experienced in kitchen renovation. I realized when I got another estimate that he hadn?t looked at things in as much detail as a kitchen renovator would.

He has been so helpful. He was really prompt. I gave him a tight deadline, and he got everything done within that deadline. He does really professional work.

Glen and his staff were easy to work with and did a very good job. They were a bit pricey but the quality of their job was well worth it. I definitely will use them again.
