We would strongly recommend you not use Gervais Electric. Caution to anyone who values quality work. Gervais Electric was hired to inspect a breaker panel as part of an existing home purchase negotiation. They sent two men to the home who are not certified or licensed electricians and Paul Gervais was never on property. They found no problems with the panel box and the home was purchased without repair. After move in, we began to experience problems with breaker weakness and eventual failure of one of the breakers. We hired another electrician who found panel was overloaded and twin breakers had been added in areas where there is not supposed to be breakers. The twin breakers had been "rigged" using a clip on the underside and neutrals had been double tapped. All considered fire hazards to today's codes. Also, the bedroom circuits did not have ARC fault breakers, which is also required to code. Multiple attempts were made by email and phone to contact Mr. Gervais to resolve this matter with no success. After a month, we hired a new electrician to replace the panel box as we have a special needs child in the home. Mr. Gervais refuses to acknowledge the problem or honor the work of his employees.

We scheduled this project 2 weeks in advance to get their best team to perform this project. On the morning they were to arrive, we received a call telling us they were going to be 3-4 hours late due to an emergency job in Franklin. In 4 hours, they arrived, but, learned that this was not the team promised, and it was very clear that this team of three individuals were way over their head. The crystal chandelier weighed approx. 100 lbs. The transfer frame they built was poorly built and had to be propped up with additional support. As they removed the chandelier, they broke off a number of crystals. The team leader (Jimmie) was yelling at the other two inexperienced helpers as he was lowering the fixture. One of the helpers was afraid to climb the ladder to help. Once the chandelier was placed in a rental truck, they were to follow my wife over to Mt. Juliet. Approximately 20 minutes later, they returned to our home in Nolensville. When I went out to ask them why they did not deliver the fixture to Mt. Juliet, they said they did not have the address in Mt. Juliet and lost my wife during transit. Jimmie told me he was "through with this project" and if I wanted our chandelier, they were going to either leave with it or put it in our driveway. Jimmie told me that he asked my wife three times for an address but she would not tell him the delivery address (total lie). I asked him that the work order had the address and he had my cell number and my wife's cell number. He told me again he was "through with this job". He called the front office, and I asked to speak to the owner or the dispatch agent at Gervais, but, he would not let me speak to them. I told them to put the chandelier in our garage instead of on the driveway. They did and then left. Approximately 15 minutes later a police officer came up our driveway and ask what the problem was. Once we explained, he told us it appears to be a fault claim and told us to have a good day. Within the next hour we received an e-mail telling us our $450 deposit will be mailed to us by cashiers check. A week and a half went by and I reached out to Gervais about the reimbursement. I received an e-mail from the Owner Paul Gervais that he was not returning our deposit. THIS WAS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL GROUP AND CLEARLY, THE GERVAIS TEAM REALIZED THAT THEY WERE WAY OVER THEIR HEAD ON THIS PROJECT AND WAS AFRAID OF FURTHER DAMAGE TO OUR CHANDELIER. We are moving forward with the small claims court in Franklin. Sincerely, Dana Wm. Ryan

They took 5 days to do a 2 day job (that they quoted). The owner Paul Gervais was extremely rude and left the job site to attend to other clients. My bill ended up being 200% more than the original quote and was never consulted or informed of the difference until I was presented with the bill. They put wrong color switches on. Many had to be redone. Very disappointed.
Description of Work: We needed lights hung, new switches put in the house and chandeliers installed.

Very thorough, courteous, and efficient. The technician explained what he was going to do, how he was going to do it. When finished you did not even know they had been there. Highly recommend.

I've used him half a dozen times for different projects over the last five years, and would be happy to use him in the future. Paul is competent, professional, efficient, and is a good communicator. His rates are very reasonable and affordable. What more could I ask for?
Description of Work: Paul has done a number of jobs including installing ceiling fixtures, running new circuits, installing GFI outlets, troubleshooting and fixing faulty wiring from a previous homeowner, running electrical service to a utility shed, and so on.

They are excellent. They were on time, finished the project quickly and gave some good advice about where to place the can lights. They were very neat. They even brought their own vacuum cleaner. They recommended that I look at an insulating product to help bring my utility bills down. I followed up with this suggestion and it has brought my bills downs.
Description of Work: They installed some after market can lighting at my home and fixed a ceiling fan.
