This service, like two previous services from Ford Roofing for roof leaks, went very well. This is the third time I have used Ford Roofing and they have always provided excellent service at a fair price. Their team leader Kevin Tuders is very easy to work with and provides very helpful information. I highly recommend Ford Roofing for roofing services.

We bought a house in Nashville in December 2014 which had a new roof installed in December 2012 by Ford Roofing, hence the roof was about 2 years old when we bought it. I made sure to transfer the GAF roofing materials warranty shortly after. In December 2015 I noticed a roof related water leak in the attic behind where a turret is situated and called Ford Roofing to see if they would come look at it. When I called I asked how long my "Premium" warranty is and I swear the person said 10 years labor and 20 years on materials. I also was told there would be a $95 dollar service charge if they found nothing warranty related. Additionally I was told there would be a 6 to 8 week wait before they could come out and look at the roof. Three months later they called in early March of 2016 to come out and look at my roof. The work quoted above hopefully was done; I can't climb ladders and we haven't had enough rain at one time yet to see a leak. About a week after the work was done I received an invoice for $195.00. No mention of warranty work, just the work described above and the amount of $195.00 to the right of it. So I wrote an email to Ford Roofing requesting a breakdown of the work done so I could see if I could recoup some money from my own insurance company. I also said that I had understood that I had a 10 year labor warranty and didn't expect any charges at all. I received an email back saying Ford Roofing has a 2 year installation warranty and that was explained to me when I first contacted them December 2, 2015 and they aren't sure how I got the idea there was a 10 year warranty but the information is inaccurate. They also said they determined on March 14, 2016 (when they finally came out) that none of the repairs they made were due to defective materials or workmanship and if I disagreed I could take it up with GAF. And I never received the breakdown of labor that I requested so I wonder what I am going to talk to GAF about? So I'm stuck paying $195.00 for the repair of a loose shingle, a torn shingle and the installation of a gutter elbow that I furnished, none of which is under any kind of warranty according to Ford Roofing even though the roof is barely 3 years old. And had I not heard "10 Years" would I have waited 3 months to have someone come out and look at my roof?
Description of Work: Work performed per invoice: "New leak showing up on the right side of the turret, found one tear in a shingle at the bottom of the cricket valley behind the turret. Also, had water at the drip edge area. Tabbed bottom of the valley to cover torn shingle, & dump water into the valley. Installed an elbow that the homeowner had, to keep water from splashing back under the shingles. Also sealed down a bandaged cap."

Response from Ford Roofing Co LLC
It is unfortunate that the homeowner did not receive full documentation from the previous homeowner. It is also unfortunate that he had not read the GAF warranty paperwork. The "Systems Plus" warranty for material defects actually is longer than he thinks. If he has properly transferred the warranty, it is valid for his lifetime and is for full value for 50 years before prorating begins. It is important to remember that this warranty is for material defects only. Normal wear is not covered. Nor are acts of God, etc. There is no workmanship warranty. I would encourage anyone who no longer has their paperwork to visit the GAF website for full details. This problem was not in any way a material defect. I would encourage anyone who is even thinking about filing an insurance claim for $195 to call their agent before calling the claims department. In the extreme unlikelyhood that you had a deductible less than $195, any agent that I have ever known would advise against such a small claim. The insurance company would rate you unfavorably for a nuisance claim. On a lighter note, if you can find someone to climb up on a 2-3 story turret for $195, have them call me and I will give them a job.

It is difficult to respond to this review because Ford Roofing Company, LLC has no record of named customer at this address or year. FRC roofed a house in 2008 at another address for a similarily named customer. In the 2008 job, FRC replaced one sheet of plywood orginally. The customer thought that another sheet of plywood should be replaced which FRC did before final payment for no additional charge. If we are missing something here, hopefully it will be brought to our attention because this review does not seem to make sense.

Horrible - see above. I wouldn't ever use them again as they failed TWICE in fixing my roof leak.
Description of Work: In January of 2010 Ford Roofing was contracted via ProNet Residential Services to repair a leak in my roof which caused a relatively serious amount of damage to the inside of my home. The initial repair was completed on time and within the price quoted for the repair. In May of 2010 I noticed water coming into my home from the same area Ford Roofing repaired in January of 2010. Ford Roofing was contacted and they came out and added some additional repair to the area initially repaired and they said I should be good to go. Consequently, since that time my wife and I still smelled a mold / damp smell in the repaired area but never could find proof or other signs of actual water flowing into the house unless we started ripping off wallboard inside the house which we thought was not a good idea since we were assured by Ford Roofing all the leaks in that particular area were repaired properly. Long story short and fast forward 3 years, we finally found evidence of water running down the wallboard directly under the area Ford roofing repaired during the heavy rains we recently incurred. I called Ford Roofing (9 AM 5/13/2103) to see about the warranty per the repairs done in 2010 and the person who answered stated "on repairs we usually don't give warranties but if there was a warranty it was 1-2 years so it has expired". I asked was there anything they or she could do to assist me she stated "no". She didn't asked me if FORD could come and look at it and see what we/they could work out with me - she didn't ask me about the issue I am currently having - just plain bad customer service in addition to the fact FORD Roofing had two opportunities to fix my roof and failed on both tries.

Ford Roofing Company, LLC did contract with Pronet Residential at this address and complete requested repairs on 1/18/2010. During the "Nashville Flood of 2010" in May 1-2/2010 apparently additional leakage was observed and reported to us on May 19, 2010. On 6/2/2010 we did additional requested work and as witnessed by Pronet Residential could not make the roof leak when undergoing a water test. Based upon the complaint above, apparently no further damage occurred until the April 27-28/2013 rain (5-7inches). May 13, 2013 our offices received a call inquiring about our repair warranties which the complaintant accurately describes above. We didn't even know this homeowners name until we received this review and were able to identify the job from the physical address. We believe that the problem is the fact that the brick above this area has enough poriosity to allow water to leak through under heavy rain/wind conditions. We were told that the brick had been sealed previously. It is our educated opinion that this is the source of the problem. Ford Roofing apologies for any miscommunication. Housing maintenance issues are usually a source of aggravation and hopefully our ideas will help resolve the issues in this instance.

It went very well. They stripped old shingles, installed new plywood as needed and had all the shingles on in one day. The next day they came to complete a few last minute things. The clean up was very good and even came back the third day to steam clean the driveway in a few places where old shingles falling had left marks. My shrubs were well protected. Everyone I talked with were nice and accommodating. It was a good experience.

The steep roof was in the range of $12,000 something and the flat roof over the garage was $6800 so it was an enormous amount of money. I think the prices were high but we'd researched companies that were approved to install that type of shingle and found this company. Another one we found was more expensive than Ford's. There were a couple of things that happened that had to do with the flat roof, I had some leaking that was occurring and had let them know and I asked them if they could come over and just put a tarp up until they were ready to come because I was having a real issue in the garage and I was told that I really didn't need a tarp and it would be OK, which just wasn't true. I called again and they said they would have to special order a tarp and so I called and located one myself. I confronted the guy at the very end of the job and told him we had an issue with it and their not coming over and he said it would have been more expensive. So I said we were weighing $118 for a tarp, that I found, versus the ceiling falling in and he didn't have a very pleasant look. Also, when the job was finished, the guy wanted to come out on Sunday morning to go over the invoice rather than send it to me by email, but he really just wanted to pick up a check for the rest of the job. Now, the roof looks really good and I haven't had a problem with either one at this point. I think they did good quality work as far as I can tell and the people were pleasant to work with, it's just that the person managing the job blew it twice. They were here when they said they would be and even though they missed a day, they got it done within the week they'd estimated and the workers and their supervisor were professional. I would use them again because of the warranty but I'd do a lot of research first.
Description of Work: Ford Roofing Co did the roofing on my home. They actually replaced two roofs because I've got a dutch home so I've got a flat roof over the main home and over the garage and then I've got that really steep roof, which the Dutch traditionally used wood shingles on. I had the 30 year-old wood shingles taken off and another roof put on using GAF Timberline shingles. They're not wood shingles, they're regular shingles, but they're architectural.

We apolgize for the misunderstanding over the flat roof. Actually the problem was not that the tarp could not be installed on [member name removed] multi-level roof. The problem was that there was no effective way to install it so that it would actually help keep the water out. Unfortunately her roof needs arose in the middle of an extremely busy period caused by last year's hail storms. We sincerely appreciate the fact that she waited for a longer than normal time for our workmanship and believe that she will feel secure in her roofing for many years to come.

Ford Roofing got the job done well. Once I had my initial meet, they communicated very well, were punctual, efficient and immediately repaired the pressing problem. They outlined secondary repairs, and made those repairs over the next month with good communication at every step. The price seemed more than reasonable as the work was top notch. They were straight shooters in assessing my roof and the prospects for patching a tear down house's roof.
Description of Work: I called Ford Roofing after a leak- it was a busy season and it was understandably a few days until they could show up. They were able to replace some worn out shingles immediately, and they also arranged to return and take care of a flat roof problem with an elastic coating. When they performed this work, they also diagnosed and repaired a gutter issue to prevent another roof leak.

While we understand this member’s perception and regret not meeting his needs, there must have been a mistake when comparing estimates and/or we failed to properly communicate the details of the services we intended to provide. It would not be unusual for other roofing companies to offer less expensive repairs. However, these repairs are often temporary, if not faulty or incomplete. They will often use sealants as their sole and primary defense against the leak. Tearing out and correctly layering roof components along with installing multiple layers of protection are the keys to a long term solution. It is this insistence on doing repairs correctly that causes our backlog of jobs to inspect and diagnose, and it is our attention to detail that causes us to take a few days to complete some estimates. In this case, we were probably more expensive because we were going to completely tear out two valleys and install waterproof underlayment with new valley shingles properly cut, clipped and sealed. We will work harder to communicate the value of our work in a timelier fashion, but it would be impossible for another roofing company to provide the exact same repair at half the price and cover materials, labor, overhead and profit.

Like I said- Ford Roofing fixed the problems the 1st time! Good work guys!
Description of Work: I live in an older houser and one part of my Florida room had started leaking after a hard rain. The first company came out at least 4 times to fix it, but it kept leaking. My landlord called Ford Roofing, and they finally fixed it! Then another part of the roof was leaking in 2 places during a rainstorm, so we called Ford Roofing again. They performed a water test to make the roof leak on purpose to see EXACTLY where the problem was, not just guestimating where the leak was. So after about 25 minutes of using the hose to create rain, it leaked. So the men discussed all the options with my landlord and fixed the 2 new leaks after 1 time- instead of 5 times!! The guys were very friendly and cleaned up their messes. Almost 2 months later, and NO leaks. Thanks Ford Roofing!

I spent around $14000 on that service. The sales person Ken Heartland that I dealt with was fantastic. He came out a couple of times before we contracted them and explained everything very well. They also cleaned up after themselves and left, so it was a perfect interaction.

They were very good. They were very prompt. As a matter of fact, one of the times that I used them they were working on a neighbor's roof. We had just moved in here and asked them if they will take a look at my roof. They came right over after they had finished, and they did what had to be done. I was quite pleased. They were very reliable. They are a tough company here in this part of Tennessee. Their cost was not exorbitant. I thought it was reasonable as we have got a lot of windows. Three men worked on the house all day long. I was quite satisfied with them. I would hire them again.

I was very impressed with them. They took the time to answer my questions in detail, and seemed very interested in providing a top quality job. They were my first choice, but the insurance company was not willing to pay the price they asked. My Ford representative said that all the other insurance companies had worked with them and come up on the amount they would pay. My insurance company would not budge, so I went with a company whose initial price fit within what my insurance would pay. I've had no problems so far.

I requested bids from six area contractors, all were rated A on Angie's list, as that is where I start looking for a contractor. Ford gave me an estimate in a reasonable amount of time, and were polite and professional--except that it seemed they were always adding on expenses that the other companies included in their bid. Ford's bid was 36% higher than the average, and 61% higher than the one I used. Ford, like all the others, said their quality was worth any diffenence in price, but I talked through the job with each contractor and bid the exact same product, and I didn't see any difference. I live in an expensive area of town, and have had some people raise prices for jobs because of that--maybe that was the problem.

Response from Ford Roofing Co LLC
While we appreciate this member’s perception, it is impossible for another roofing company to provide the exact same materials and roof design for the pricing suggested. Mathematically, if our pricing is 61% higher than our competitor’s, their pricing would be 62% of ours (1/1.61=.62). Our material cost for this job, with tax, would have been 45% of the estimate total we provided. Therefore, labor, overhead and profit would have to come from the remaining 17% of our competitor’s price. A legitimate roofing company cannot survive if their sales prices are not at least double their material cost. There must have been a mix up when comparing estimates, and/or we failed to effectively communicate the details of the work we intended to complete. We never have and never will adjust our pricing based on the area of town or perceived client wealth. We do, however, insist on providing the best finished product and the highest level of protection for your home.

Nice men, actually came earlier than they first said which was a little inconvenient for us, but we managed. They seemed trustworthy and were very pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: We had signs of multiple leaks in our roof. Water marks were showing up in spots all along the upstairs ceiling. Another company had checked the roof--the company that put the roof on--and said they saw no problems. The Ford company men said they saw no obvious problems when they first went up to look, but took a closer look around some vents that seemed okay from the outside. They were very excited about the "wet wood" they found. The areas around the vents had apparently not been shingled correctly to keep out water and their locations explained the multiple areas of leakage. This company which was new to us removed and replaced the surrounding shingles and did what was necessary to stop the leakage. As far as we can tell, they were successful. They assessed the overall integrity of the roof and explained that it would not be too many more years before we needed a new roof. They did not try to get us to agree to a new roof at that time, which we appreciated.

Three days later I had still not received a call to schedule the estimate so I called the owner, Dan Ford, to get an explanation for his employees' lack of responsiveness. Mr. Ford was quite arrogant and stated that James must surely have told me that 5-7 days is their normal wait time to get a roof inspection. James did not give me any indication that it would take a week to get someone out to look at the roof. Who knows how long it would take to get an estimate. Mr. Ford indicated that his company was not a "next day estimate" business. At no point did he apologize for the lack of a call back. Apparently this company has outgrown its good reputation.
Description of Work: Called on Friday Dec 11 and spoke to a representative (James Secrist) about getting an estimate for replacement of my roof. I indicated that the estimate was needed as quickly as possible to close an insurance claim. James told me that someone would call me back to schedule an appointment to look at the roof.

We certainly apologize to this member for not meeting his expectations and for not effectively communicating the time required to provide his roof replacement estimate. This member called on a Friday, and we are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Monday would have been the earliest we could have responded. Our schedule for Monday was filled with requests received prior to his. To be fair to all of our customers, we try to respond on a “first come-first served” basis. On Tuesday, this member canceled his request. We did not perceive this to be a lack of responsiveness, because most of our roof replacement estimates take several days to complete in an accurate and thorough manner. In this case, we simply could not respond as quickly as this member required. It is unfortunate that he did not have the time to experience the quality of service that continues to bolster our good reputation.
