99 Dollar Painter

these reviews looked old...so wanted to leave one from this week in 2023. We had a HORRIBLE painter prior to calling Dennis. That painter took 15 days to basically do nothing so we fired him. Called Dennis aka "99 dollar painter" and he gave bid that same morning, promised the work would get done from Thursday 7am to Sunday 7pm....and they actually finished a few hours early. They literally painted an entire condo we're getting ready to sell. Everything done as promised. After a nightmare experience before him, it was so nice to have professionals do what they said when they said they'd do. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll never call anyone else.

If you want to over pay for a service and have an underperformed job done, this is the company you need to go with. Dennis, the owner, will miss multiple (about 15) things even after letting him know twice, forget important tasks, and if you decide to question why he charges $400 to paint four, 8ft sections of 6in trim, then you’ll enjoy seeing him get in your face, physically challenge you, threaten to take you to court if you don’t pay the full amount (after he acts like he wants to fight you), then he’ll top it all off and show you he’s cultured by calling you a fool in German. Why we paid him anything is beyond my level of comprehension. Needless to say, I will never cross paths with this company again due to their high level of immaturity and unprofessionalism. Thank you 99 Dollar Painter for showing me that no matter how terribly you do things, truly anyone can start a business.

The experience was an absolute nightmare. The painters spilled paint on our new carpet, left splatter all over the baseboards, wood floors and outlets. The painting job that was supposed to be "professional" could have been done better by my 7 year old son. They came back to "make it right", but painted our baseboards a different shade that didn't even match. Then when they were supposedly done, I had to point out over 40 spots where the work was sub par. Even if I was contacted again for them to "make it right", I would not let these amateurs in my house again....ever!

Very poor quality work. May spots left unpainted on the walls and ceiling. Paint splatters on floor and furniture. He came back twice to fix and it looks worse every time he touches it. Attempted to jack up price to cover his mistakes? Outcome was so poor I am having work performed again by another company.

Absolutely on my "non-hire"list. Although he claims his work is 'guaranteed', I had to call him back 3 times to fixed missed areas and to clean dripped paint off furniture and floors. Finally I gave up as it was easier to just fix it myself. The hall bath was initially painted with dirty brushes and rollers, leaving black streaks down the freshly painted walls. Black splotches remained even the re-painting of this room. Several areas of the wall were completely missed! He uses a very wide roller (one more suitable for a garage floor) and therefore cant be very precise on the eveness or smoothness of the paint application. His brushes left obvious markings and blending with the rolled areas was very poor. The 'final straw' was when I discovered paint smeared on the back of my grand piano. I am hiring another painter to re-paint everything this company just painted!

We were very pleased the first time we used him but not so pleased the second time. My husband had to run out to get the paint and I would be less likely to use him in a house that I am keeping.

I had a wonderful experience with Dennis (aka 99 Dollar Painter). I bought a townhouse recently and needed to have almost the entire home re-painted. My realtor recommended 2 companies and I recieved quotes from both but Dennis came in almost $200 lower. He was very prompt to return my phone calls and even offered to help me with colors if I needed any recommendations. He started around 11:30am and was finished the following evening and the house looks great! He was friendly and professional and really helped me nail down my color choices. His wife also helped him for a portion of both days and she was so sweet! A normal room is $99 and then I paid extra for a dining room with chair rail (2 different colors), an accent wall, and then I think the master bath was $149. The total cost of the job was around $1500 (1200 to Dennis + cost of paint). I'm very happy with the work and would recommend Dennis without hesitation!
