 + -1 moreIt was excellent. Any time we've used Lowe's for a project, their service providers have been punctual, their work has been high-quality, and often Lowe's also offers us the lowest price. The ability to pick out fixtures in store and then have the serviceperson follow up for installation is really convenient. We've been very pleased with the Lowe's in Elizabethton.

 + 0 moreWe went to Lowes to buy a water heater. It cost $259.00 as we saw on their site online. But then Lowes started adding a bunch of other "needed" things to the bill so that it came to over $650.00. Luckily the plumber contracted by Lowes to do the install told us that some of the items were not necessary. He was honest and saved us $150 in returned items. I am quite happy with the service of Lowe's contracted plumber. I am not happy that no where was it stated on their website that the price of the water heater was just the beginning of costs.

 + 0 moreAll's well that ends well. We started with Lowe's in good faith, have dealt with them before and were always satisfied. We picked our carpet and padding and scheduled a time for measurement, the gentleman came, got the measurement and we went to the store to pay for the carpet and found out that the carpet we ordered was out of stock. We picked another, there was a difference in the embossed pattern which caused a difference in square footage. The salesperson could not figure the difference and tried to get hold of the installer to get correct amount. Got my cell phone number and told us to go have coffee, she would call us when she got the answer. Went first 2/2/13 finally were able to pay 2/14/13 and carpet was ordered. Meantime installer got a large job installing carpet in a hotel, we were put on the back burner. Our contract called for completion date of 3/28/13, which was a lot longer than we wanted but felt we had no other choice. Received a call from the installer that they were giving us a new date of 4/18/13. This was completely unacceptable. Called the store and said that if it was not done by 3/28/13 as agreed to that we were going to cancel the order and get our money back. This was ignored, I spoke with my son-in-law and he got in touch with the manager of the store, got things moving and I got a call that they were giving us a new install date of 3/21/13. They came, installed, cleaned up and did a wonderful job. Would I go back for a similar job, no.
Description of Work: We went to Lowe's the first week of Feb. 2013 to get carpet for our rec room. We picked what we wanted and scheduled for man to measure for carpet amount. Went on 2/11/03 to pay for carpet and was told that they didn't have enough of the carpet we picked for the job. We picked another which had another embossed pattern and therefore the measurement would be different, this is when our problem started. The salesperson at the store couldn't get in touch with the installer to find out how much to order. The carpet had to be paid for by us. It was the 14th, after a call to the manager. before we could get the information. Paid on the 14th and signed the contract for the work. They stated that it would be finished by March 28. This was much longer than I had planned for but took it as Lowe's only has one installer. Since my husband and I are not in good health, our children came and cleaned out the furniture, putting it all in our garage, on Feb. 16th. Received a call from installer that our install date had been changed to April 18th. This was not at all acceptable to us, this is 21/2 months since first making deal. Talked to our son-in-law who is Vice President with Leggitt and Platt, makers of the carpet, after e-mails to the store and management, he called us and said that it should be done by the week of March 18th. I almost immediately got a call from installer saying the install date would be March 21. They came as scheduled and did a great job. A girl from the installers came to check on how it was going. They finished about four o'clock and did a very fine clean-up. We got a call the following day from Lowe's to see if we were satisfied with the carpet and installation. It ended up fine after a very rocky start.

 + -1 moreIt was a disaster. We had to go through corporate to get it fixed it was so bad. The deck had to be torn down to have it rebuilt. They did straighten it out, and got it done correctly the second time.

 + 1 moreI went into the store and already knew what I wanted. They were helpful when I became ready to order it but not in picking out the materials. They had someone come to our house to measure and give us the price. Then they tore all the old carpet out, moved all the furniture, replaced the carpet and moved the furniture back. They did it all; we did not do any of it. There was very little carpet left but I kept a few pieces of it. They also cleaned everything up. There were a few issues; they sent the wrong color of carpet but that was not their fault; it was the manufacturer's fault. The price was good; that's why we went there.
Description of Work: I used Lowe's to install new carpeting and replace a little hardwood at my house.

Description of Work: I have always found this store to get great. The people understand their products. They were able to talk us through our first tile project. We live in a different city and drive to this one because of the great customer service and the knowledge of the sales people. My complaint is with the corporate office. We got an email sale paper. I spotted a light I had wanted for a long time but could not pay full price. I was at my computer when the email with the sale came in, tried order it instantly. Tried locally all the Lowe's. Would have driven in a 2 hr radius to get it. There were none even after the site let you think you were getting it. Tried to order on line. It was not available to ship(really,? a light......) Then we tried other states because I smelled a scam. And it was. We live in TN. We tried NC, and KY. No light. Lowe's corporate, you stink!

Description of Work: They did window replacements in my bedroom and bathroom. They came out and gave me a quote and were most competitive and then they did the installation. They sealed the windows as well and put the molding on the outside around them.

 + -1 moreThey were awesome. They gave us a great price on the new Pella 350 vinyl windows with installation. These windows haven't been out long and they are top of the line vinyl windows. The windows are custom ordered to fix my existing opening so they don't have to do a lot of tearing up of my house. Great financing options and good communication with us from start to finish.

I was pleased with the price of the blinds. I would recommend going to Lowe's. Overall I am pretty pleased with them. I will absolutely continue to use Lowe's in the future.

Description of Work: Needed consultation for appliance parts. Sales people do not know what they are doing. They sold me the wrong part, which I was unawre of until days later. When I returned the item I had to argue with the manager for the return of my money which I never received.

 + -1 moreDoor was delivered on time, but had a small amount of damage. Installer repaired damage and installed door and hardware. No problem with door itself; installation was adequate, but not good. Door frame corners did not match well and lock mechanism stuck. Frame installed using staples instead of finishing nails. Holes not filled with putty. Some screw heads stripped out due to use of power driver without clutch properly set. Due to bad experience with installers from the other home improvement store, supervisor at Elizabethton came out to inspect installation and followed up afterward for comments. Installer showed up on time.
Description of Work: Purchased and had an exterior door installed. Door previously purchased from another home improvement store (see separate report).
