Horrible Service. AHS warranty sent them out on Monday. I was told part would be in on Wednesday. I calling 4 times On Wednesday and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I called on Thursday and was told part would now be in on Friday and would be their last stop or Saturday . AHS sent a confirmation appointment from McGovern for appointment time between 5pm-9pm. I sat here in the heat and waited. Well it is now 9pm, yes at night and I still have no air in the dead of summer.

Our furnace quit working back in January, and our home warranty company dispatched McGovern Mechanical to repair it. I scheduled the repair with the warranty company at 10pm, and McGovern Mech. called promptly at around 8am the next day. They said they'd be out between 2 & 4 pm. They ended up not showing until around 6pm, however the tech was very good about calling and keeping us updated on his timetable for arrival. Once there they were friendly, got straight to work, and had our furnace up and running in under an hour. He spent some extra time showing me some things to look for and how to diagnose minor problems myself should the need arise in the future. Overall I had a good experience.

Our home electrical heat stopped working and our Home warranty company referred us to the Nashville branch of McGovern Mechanical on Fri 1/24. The tech , Travis, came out to assess our unit on Sun 1/26 & said parts needed to be ordered. On Wed 1/29, the blower motor was replaced. After 7 hours, our house was still only 57 degrees so I called & left a VM at McGovern office to say the heat still wasn't working properly & to please call us first thing in the a.m. I still hadn't heard from anyone by midday Thurs 1/30, so I called their office again to explain that our heat wasn't working & I was given the Travis's cell phone # to call. It took me another 2 hours to get him to answer his phone (no VM set up) - he was rude and simply said to call the office back to set up another appt for him to come back to the house. On Fri 1/31, Travis looked at heat unit again & said we needed new heat strips & wiring for our emerg heat and said he could pick some up Saturday morning & come back to fix it. After sitting at home all day waiting, I finally called Travis at 4:30pm on Sat 2/1 to ask if he was coming to replace those heat strips & wiring - he said he was unable to find some locally and would have to order them. (Why couldn't he call me???) On Tues 2/4, I received an email and phone call from my Home Warranty Co for a customer satisfaction survey about my heat repair job. I called them to explain that the job wasn't done yet & that we still didn't have heat in our house - they were quite shocked since McGovern sent them a Completed Job Report on Thurs 1/30 (despite my VM stating that our house temp was still only 57). I explained that I thought more parts were on order, but if they didn't show more parts on order then I was very concerned ... Home Warranty Co called & left VM (again McGovern didn't answer phone) to contact me ASAP. An hour later, McGovern called back and I inquired about the heat strips & new wiring that Travis said he was going to order on Saturday. She said Travis was now in Memphis & no parts had been ordered before he left. She scheduled Brian, the "manager" to come the next day, on Wed 2/5. On Wed 2/5, she called to say Brian's truck broke down and rescheduled Brian's visit for Thurs 2/6. Brian came on Thurs 2/6, discovered that our emerg heat wasn't even connected at the thermostat, said that we did need new heat strips, & that he'd order some. He also replaced some part - I think a regulator?? I don't know because he never left a receipt or any paperwork stating what he did. On Fri 2/7, I called Brian re: the regular heat setting not able to warm house more than 58 degrees even when it was warmer than 35 outside - was he sure that fixing the heat strips for the emerg heat was all that was needed? We'd never used emerg heat in the last 3 1/2 years in this house & had never had a problem heating the house. He assured that it was simply because it was colder this year, said that he would try to find me some used heat strips from older models to get me through the weekend, and call me back either Fri night or Sat. He even made a joke "I'm not Travis - I promise I'll call you!" And he never did. On Mon 2/10, I called office to verify that ordered parts would arrive & could they be installed today (it's now been over 2 weeks without heat in our house). An appt was scheduled for Tues. Brian came on Tues 2/11 and replaced the heat strips, but did not leave a receipt or any paperwork for the work done. On Wed a.m., our house was still only 61 degrees after the heat had been on all night long. I called our Home Warranty Co back and demanded that they send another company to fix our heat. Another company came to our house that very afternoon and fixed our heat in 30 minutes. That technician said that anytime the blower motor gets overheated & goes out, the heat still heats but doesn't have anywhere to go so it also burns out the thermal cut out switches. Thus, you should always replace those switches with the blower motor. He was quite surprised that TWO "heat repair technicians" missed that.
