Since 1985, we have been providing custom home building & remodeling services in the central Maryland area. Boyd Petit, the owner, has over 40 years experience in all phases of the building process. We give an initial "free" visit to discuss your needs & wants & then provide you with a Preliminary Estimate based on costs of other similar projects. You then decide if you want us to sign a Contract along with a Scope Of Work Statement. We have many "Before & After" photos of various projects. We have ZERO complaints with the the B.B.B., or the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, or any other agency.

Description of Work: I hired him to change a bedroom into an en suite bathroom and closet to make a master suite. He works with a great electrician and plumber. Most of Boyd's work was good. He did a terrible job on the drywall seams. They needed to be sanded more to make them flat. There was a last minute up charge on the plumbing, which would have been fine had he given more notice than a day to want payment. Overall decent guy and work, just wasn't overly impressed.

Petit Construction has numerous happy clients since the early 1980's and ZERO complaints with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. In August 2011 the members hired us to help them remodel a rear bedroom into a Master Bathroom and Walk-In Closet in their new home.They wanted to do the finish work such as the tile and painting, and purchase much of the materials such as cabinets, tile, faucets, etc. We went to great lengths to accomodate their requests, and change orders, and there is not enough room here to address each one. However, in response to some of the member's opinions: #1 - Our contract (which they signed) has a clause titled "Right to Cure" which means that if there is something "terrible", then we are to be notified immediately to address the issue instead of the members waiting 15 months to post a defamatory comment on Angies List. #2 - The contract also states that all of our workmanship standards are described in the National Home Builders Assoc. book titled "Residential Construction Performance Guidelines". Furthermore, drywall installation and finishing practices are also addressed by the Gypsum Assoc. document #214-10 which can also be found online. #3 - Since the members re-sanded the drywall themselves (effectively altering the finish), and did the painting themselves, they shouldn't be complaining about Petit Construction.

The quality of his work is extremely high. He is very honest and his estimates are very accurate. The people he works with are competent and knowledgable.
Description of Work: He renovated our bathroom, enlarged our bedroom and a closet.

The Customer, who is a referal from another happy client client here in Howard County, had us built an two story addition to their home in 2008. We were glad to be able to service their needs again when they asked us to help design the Master Bedroom and Bath remodel in 2011/2012. Some of the work was done by the client to lower overall costs and facilitate the process. My subcontractors & I look forward to working with the Customer again for their next project.
