Description of Work: I rented a Penske 26' moving van in Columbus, GA and drove it to Crossville, TN. When I finished unloading it at the Central mini warehouse on West Avenue, I called the turn in location, which was Volunteer Hearth and Home, to see if they could drop me off at their convenience, on their way home at the mini warehouse, where I had left my rental car. It was only 2 miles from them, but they said that they could not do that. I said, well, I can wait until you are leaving or closing for the day, as I am just moving to Crossville, and I have no one to call and I cannot walk that far, plus it was pouring down rain. I did not even think there was a taxi service here. But they again said "No, they cannot do that", is what the owner said. Great Customer Service, after all two miles out of his way home is too much to ask..... I don't think anyone has ever been so rude to a paying customer. So I called the Penske Customer service number, and they contacted their tow man, who met me at the Volunteer Hearth and Home, and took me back to my rental car at Central Storage. I really think that Penske can be better represented by someone in the Crossville area who is service oriented, and who can not damage the Penske reputation. Honestly I don't expect this company to stay in business very long, as I have heard other negative reports from builders in the Crossville area. This was not the first experience I had with this company, and Brad the owner. We wanted a new gas stove for our home, and I went by Volunteer Hearth and Home to get a price for an upgraded fireplace, which is what their main business is. I spoke with Noel, the owner's father, who could not give me any prices on any of the fireplace units in the store. So I asked him to have his son, the owner, Brad, to call me. I tried three more times, by telephone to get a price, and never could, never had a return call....My builder told me to steer clear of them, as they have a bad reputation, and have terrible service. I agree, I found a company in Sparta, who actually answered his phone the first time I called, and gave me a price right then. That is with whom I will be spending over $6,700.00 for my new fireplace. My husband and I chose Crossville, mainly because of the people here. Everyone is nice, friendly, they go out of their way to help you. They actually talk to you, and not in such a hurry that they are rude, and southerners don't like rude people! This company is not representative of how most of the people are here, nor will Penske be putting up with the customer complaints they will be receiving all the time from Volunteer Hearth and home.....steer clear!
