Description of Work: installed new kitchen appliances and removed old ones. they were very polite and professional. they also made sure not to get anything dirty or damaged. on another note, they have been out to my home several times to measure outside and draw up contract for new vinyl siding on my home. i will report on work when done (there's been a delay because of knight's roofing co. not doing their job yet).

The wood floors were Bruce hardwood floors and those were flawed due to the way they were cut by the manufacturer. Lowe's subcontractor who came to install the flows immediately noticed the problem and notified me and the store. The subcontractor stopped the installation so that a determination could be made as to how the store and I wished to resolve the problem. Lowe's sent their delivery people out to pick up the flooring materials and then worked with me in the store to choose another product - still Bruce's, but a narrower plank, as those apparently are easier to work with in installations and don't present the same problems as the wider planks if their cut is slightly off. The new floors were delivered by Lowe's and allowed to sit in the house the appropriate amount of time to acclimate to the house temperature settings. The floors were installed by the same subcontractors who started the initial install. While wood is a natural product and is subject to having some flaws, installers normally work to identify the boards with obvious flaws and remove those from the actual install. In my case they did do that most of the time but I found two boards that should have been removed from use and were not eliminated. So, once the boards are down it is hard to get any installer to pay attention when you find those boards and bring those to their attention. Lowe's was willing to send them back out after they called me to see how the installation went, but I did not insist upon it. We agreed to see how it goes, but I think that I probably will have to put a rug down at the area that moves from my entry hall into the kitchen to cover one of the areas of concern. The other service I used Lowe's for was my quartz countertops. The countertops are beautiful and were professionally measured and installed by another subcontractor for Lowe's. There were two problems. First, the plumber subcontractor who showed up let me know that the new sink that came as part of the countertop did not work with the existing garbage disposal. So, he went into Lowe's that same day and got one for me that would work with the sink (which also was set a little bit farther back than the one that had been part of the original countertop material and could not be saved.) The other problem was that the existing Frigidaire dishwasher was top-mounted and the counter installers let me know that they were unable to reconnect that dishwasher to the new countertop. So, I have also had to purchase a new dishwasher that is capable of being side-mounted and that should be here by the first of August. These are just things to keep in mind for people who are making purchases. To my knowledge, Lowe's could not have foreseen that I would need the new dishwasher or garbage disposal. For people who are really trying to keep their kitchen remodel budget intact, be sure to plan for a few of these things. My dishwasher and garbage disposal were original with my house, which is eight years old. So, it didn't hurt me a bit in this case to make sure that my new kitchen is totally functional going forward. In fact, I have also ordered a new stove and microwave from Lowe's, so I am not unhappy with them at all. Lowe's has great people to work with and the store backs up the work performed, which means that I don't have to chase down contractors to answer questions and resolve problems.
Description of Work: Recently I have used their services to purchase and have installed hardwood floors and countertops.

Description of Work: I purchased a new kitchen sink faucet. The sales person told me that he could install it for me and to call him. He never would return the calls so I hired another through Lowes. That worked out well. But I have learned to not trust the plumbing department. m I have purchased a new refrigerator and had it installed. That worked out very well but then again it wasn't involving that particular sales associate. The bad rating was for that one incident and I suspect that the sales associate had violated some store policy by agreeing to do plumbing work on an item he sold. Other than that, Lowes has no competition in Crossville | |

We have used Lowe's for all our building and maintenance needs for the last 15+years. We have built 2 different homes with Lowe's supplying most of the material for them. They offer delivery and have very knowledgeable staff to assist with any questions we might have. They have a great return policy (we've had to utilize this more that we'd like), and great deals at the end of seasons.

The designers in the kitchen department were friendly, helped with ideas to make my suggestions work. I had no problem replacing several of the doors that arrived that did not work well. The installer sub did a great job. I also ordered granite and used their sub for installation. I was very pleased with the entire process. I, however, avoid the paint department. I found them to be very slow and I get better service at paint speciality stores who keep a record of my purchases for future reference. I have found Lowes to be very helpful with all our ongoing projects. If there is a problem, they make it right.

I went to Lowe's and picked the door out, but they wouldn't let me purchase the door until one of their contractors came out to the house and measured and then I had to pay for him to come out to do the measurements of the door. We had to schedule and make a time for him to come and then I had to go back to Lowe's and pick out the door and the hardware and then we had to schedule another day. These are not employees of Lowe's but subcontractors that work for Lowe's and I was kind of like at the mercy of his schedule. The first time he called he said he would be there, but he didn't show up and he didn't call me. I had to call Lowe's back a couple of times and ask them where was my door because I paid for it and it wasn't here, so finally they showed up and he didn't have all the materials he needed. In the end Lowe's had sold me a quality product, but it was a mess just trying to get it all put in. I paid $35 for them to come out and measure for the door at Lowe's and then the second time I went there and bought this door and a storm door and also included in that fee was their labor to come out and put it in, so I basically paid them every time they came out here to put it in and it was kind of ridiculous and plus I was inconvenienced of my time. They did clean up their mess, but I guess what bothered me was that they were a subcontractor. I'm not a carpenter. I'm a registered nurse and they're the contractor, so I have to assume that they did it right. It works and closes and everything, but there were a couple of things that I seen and they told me that I didn't need to caulk or worry about it. The only follow-up was when Lowe's called up and asked if they installed the door. What bothered me was that there wasn't someone to come behind them that works for Lowe's to actually take a look at the door and say it met their standards and was put in correctly and that the contractor did a good job and provided a good service for us, but there was none of that. It was basically I bought the door from Lowe's and them and this contractor have a deal and basically that was it. The problem I'm having now is that the visual appearance of the door from the outside. There's a pressure treated board underneath my door seal and I don't know if it is supposed to be there or not because it wasn't on the other door, so my father-in-law who actually builds houses is going to come by my house during the holidays and look at my door. If something isn't right then I can call up Lowe's and tell them that they did it a certain way and it's really not acceptable according to industry standards because after they were gone they left the paperwork to the door. I sat there and started going through the paperwork and saw that they didn't do certain things like for example caulk a certain way it voids the warranty on the door. So now I'm going to get someone in here that I trust that is going to tell me if it was done right or no it wasn't. It could have resolved a whole lot of issues if someone would have just came behind them and said it was up to standards. They got people inside the store and a computer program in which they could sit there and within an hour have your cabinets all drawn up if you got your measurements and then give you an estimate. One thing I found very interesting is that I used them and they told me before they put the cabinets in they'll send someone out here and there would be a fee associated with that to measure the kitchen to make sure. I told them okay, but before I put the cabinets in I needed to put down a new tile floor in my kitchen and dining room and the man comes out and tells me that we are going to have to tear up the sub-floor because it's particle board because Lowe's will not warranty the workmanship if we're going to tile. I asked him could he use this other stuff that I read about and they told me no and that it has to be this type of backer-board and I'm like you got to be joking. So literally to put down the tile flooring for my kitchen and dining room is going to cost me more than the cabinets and I paid for that man to come out here to tell me that. I had to pay for him to come out and do the measurements and also pay for a piece of tile that I brought out here that I was supposed to show him that I wanted put down so he would know how to price me. It was a pain and if it wasn't for the fact that I hurt my back and was off work for eight or nine weeks I don't know how I would have been able to schedule for someone to be out here. I called two other contractors for the cabinets and they came at my convenience and they were nice and did what they said. They didn't charge me to come out and they have a better product and their prices were anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 cheaper. In November I was trying to get some information, but then I felt kind of pressured because Lowe's told me that if I'm going to get all of these upgrades I need to make a decision. Well, I got all those upgrades and other people guaranteeing me that they'll build these all wood cabinets and put them in and install them and came out to my house with ideas. They also didn't look at a computer and were actually professionals and I'm tickled to death because one of those people I got off of Angie's List and he was awesome. With Lowe's you choose the cabinets and as much money as you want to spend because the cabinets are craft made, but they're just the distributor and not the manufacturer. When I called Lowe's and asked them about when the guy was going to show up to put my door in they faxed him instead of calling him and it was three days later before he called me.
Description of Work: Lowe's of Crossville gave me an estimate on some cabinets and tile flooring and they also installed a front door and a storm door.

We did not believe the window blinds added to the door frame would fit or look and function as well as they did. We are very pleased with the looks and operating and they keep the hot summer sun out of the house.
Description of Work: The sales guys helped us by suggesting options we had not considered.Saved us a lot of TIME & MONEY over the plan we had origionally had in mind. Also we were told that IF the product did NOT fit or if it did fit and we were still not happy we could simply return it for a full refund. It fit perfectly and we like it more than we would have imagined. Keep up the great work guys...we love ya!

Installer was punctual and effcient. I was happy with the qualiy of the door and installation.
Description of Work: Purchased and had installed a storm door on the front of the house. Additional wood needed to be added due to the frame inset. Work was well done. The 3rd storm door I have had them install. I generally purchase only at Loew's and do not utilize there installation services. Store is clean, personnel helpful. I have found that to be the case in all Lowes's I have frequented. Given the choice I frequent Home Depot. Nearest is 45 miles. Find Loew's comparable.

We used their service about three or four months ago. We liked everything about them. It was a good company whoever they used to get these cabinets. The price was within the range. It was all pretty good sized cabinets and it was all oak. It did take a little while to get them. They were there when they said they would be. They are the only ones in the area that does these kinds of things.
