The service tech installed the water heater in October. In February, I noticed that my hot water was coming out of the tap rusty. I called and the tech came out to look at it. He told me that my well water had corroded the water supply pipes they had installed, and I would need to have them replaced but they would do it at a discount. I told the service tech that I would call Mr. Huckabee. When I talked to Mr. Huckabee, he insisted that my water was the problem and not his installation, in spite of the fact that I don't have this problem with any of the other pipes and the corrosion is classic galvanic corrosion caused by putting 2 dissimilar metals in direct contact with each other (which the service tech did). I told him that this is obviously an installation mistake and should be covered under the 1 year labor warranty he said I had. He refused to honor the warranty.
Description of Work: Replaced broken water heater including water supply pipes.

Response from Legacy Plumbing
The warranty WAS honored. This customer was on a well. The water heater was installed with the same materials that hundreds of others have been installed, with NO problems. I was told the customer had another company come and repair a leak on the galvanized piping at the water heater. The customer was reimbursed for the cost of the work. This could have been worked out without this report or the complaint to the BBB, but the customer became irrational the minute I defended my company's actions. I always admitted that the dissimilar metals were part of the problem, but not all of it.
