I hired Mr. Morris 10-1-2019 to stain fence and repair a screen door. He kept saying he would be here on certain date then not showing up due to personal issues. Finally finished screen door on 12-10-2019 and power washed the fence. He promised me to finish staining before Christmas. I noticed a part of roof was leaking water. Since he was there, I paid $50 to fix it. I called him the following week and told him the roof was still leaking. He said he was going to take a look. That was the last time I was able to get hold of him. After holidays, I left voice mail twice then his number doesn't accept phone calls any more. I had to find someone else to stain my fence before it got ruined during rainy cold winter season. I paid $1200 for just fence upfront per his request. I need refund for the job he hadn't done and $50 for the roof that he hadn't done right. I am sure he knows it but he is not responding. I have reasons not recommend to use this company. 1) He charges people upfront but not doing job on time or not doing job at all. If you do research online, you would know this is not only time he does this. 2) He claims he has 40 year experience but he had to do trial and error several times to figure out how to install screen door and the lock. He stripped fence and left many slash marks on the fence. In addition, the roof is still leaking water. It is not professional and experienced handyman should have done. 3)It is not necessary to strip the fence. It is deceptive. The fence is only 5 year old. Other than color on two doors were fading, it was still in good shape. Unfortunately I knew this after he stopped taking my phone call. I realized something really went wrong. He is not the person I should trust. Since I had to find someone else finishing the fence stain, I got several companies to look at it. They all said I could just stain the doors rather than spending money to redo the whole fence. Anyway, if you could find other companies, go for it. Don't use this one.

OK this was the most inadequate man I have ever allowed do any work on my home. He was either too lazy, arrogant or proud to ask if something was correct or not. He almost ruined the $900 coil on the second day. He and his side kick said that they were going to have to take the coil back down stairs and take out the insides and turn them upside down, something I could see wouldn?t have worked if they had tried to. Oh and it was only going to cost me $200. I knew better, because of not only where I purchased my equipment but the other 6 sites that sell goodman units to the public have the same coil and furnace together. So I took it upon myself to call Goodman Tech Support and ask them to explain how this coil was to be installed with this furnace horizontally with air blowing upflow right. Both units were able to be used in a variety of positions and because of this there were a few inside changes that needed to be changed however, I read the manual from start to finish, obviously unlike Mr. Morris. It should not have taken him more than 2 -4 hours to get all the inside changes done and everything connected correctly but he said he basically had to take the whole thing apart and put it back together. (This really Scares ME) I have no clue what he has done to those units. I found a new Honeywell circuit board with a $60 receipt that I have no idea what he thought or planned on doing with it. As for the coding part this is far from code. MLGW has already turned us off. There are at least 5 major issues. 1. The flex line is illegally place per MLGW. It is only suppose to be no more than 18 inches at most. It must connect outside of the furnace and not to the pipe inside. He needed to add on to that pipe so it could connect to the outside using only . (I mean hes has a plastic line inside a hot furnace!!! If that thing melts gas will build up inside the until and KABOOM there goes the roof of my house and possibly many other structures as well, 2. We had discussed the power supply and the fact it was fastened under very close to the drain pain. I am no expert but since 1861 NEC has mandated that all electrical outlets must be at least six feet from a water source and it may have to be GFCI protected. Ill have to look that one up. However, right now it is just dangling under the safety pan. 3. Speaking of the safety pan, He purchased a pan $40 not large enough for the furnace and coil to sit in. I could have bought one from the tech store for $15 . Or I could have had a salvage yard make me one for $24. He said he was going to do it, I assumed that is what he was doing for the next 7 days. But he used the same pan with no changes. I hope this thing is not going to be totally redone but since he didn?t do any of the recommendations I asked him to (I had a large particle board I wanted to lay under the safety pan and then use cinder blocks instead of 4 regular size bricks to lay the furnace and coil on. This would have also made his working on the piping much easier. 4. Speaking of the piping This was a big catastrophe. From the start I explained that this was a 95% unit (it sweats a lot) and it requires a secondary drain pipe from the secondary coil valve and drain pan to a ?sterile outside source? where we could easily see it. This is because if the primary valve from the coil that is attached to the pipes from the furnace become clogged, we as homeowners can see it before it leaks down into the walls and ceilings. Something my homeowner just had to pay almost $50,000 to clean up from my old unit getting clogged so often. To date he has 3 pipes all attached together, I have no idea where it is draining to either. One of his guys said that there is a leak under my house. Since before him I had the crawl space covered with plastic and check 3 times for leaks , due to a sink leak about 3 months ago,( I have been keeping a close eye on it to make sure that didn?t start leaking again) I truly believe this is something he has done. Either way this is not to code, and could potentially cause more fugi and bactiera growth under the house. 5. Then there is the venting. I paid $100 for a concentric venting kit. This makes it very easy to remove the deadly CO while bringing in fresh out door air into the inlet of the furnance. Because these units sweat so much it cuts down on that, it keeps the inside of the furnace cleaner and prolongs its life(instead of bringing in air from the dirty , fugi, bacteria , dusty attic). He didn?t use the kit at all. Stated that the attic was open so I didn?t need the fresh air inlet,, CODE OR NOT I wanted it!! He went out and spent llike $100 on PVCP piping rather then have me buy a $10 45 degree angle piece. Again this was in the second week and I did not see him for 4 days so it would have been here in 2. It was as if he did most all the work on a rush job in 1 day on a Friday where he was here from 10 am until like 8 pm. 6. Last but not least I ordered a special filter for my unit. It took about 4 days to get here. It was about 74 degrees or lower at night so waiting was not a problem for me. However, he built a place for a filter to fit and was suppose to put on a door. There is no door along with all the other things. Ok so the day he gave me the quote I agreed and paid him $600, I specifically told him that Code told me not to pay him anything until they came out. So we have all these things not done correct and he comes to me for the remainder of his money. Oh and a bonus he tries to tell me he spent almost $500 for extra materials. I was wanting to hold out $800 but he just threw a fit. I knew then that this was the type of guy that well does a half a** job or maybe even a good job, until hes about 8 ? 10 hours from fixing everything correct. He wants yopu to pay him even though hes not done (plus he acts like he bought all this extra stuff ) These receipts could no way in h*** be all mine. He had 2 other similar jobs that his guru crew was doing so he was trying to double or triple dip. But I refused to pay him anything for the materials I had never authorized. Plus I should not paid him anything until everything was done but My husband didn?t know the whole story and was also yelling at me to pay him. I held out $300 from what I was suppose to pay. I have not heard from him again. Do not hire this guy for anything until you get his insurance info and checked it out. I am hoping this will be the only thing that saves us, if he really has it. Do not hire him and give him free reign to buy anything needed, I was lucky I had that in my contract (however he never left a contract with me). So make sure you get it or at least write on the check what is going on. Oh and one of his guru employees kicked my dog, I almost took him in for x-rays but decided to wait a few days. It was swollen but he wasn?t limping is the only reason I waited. He was no means the cheapest but he wasn?t the most expensive. If he would have not been so arrogant and asked my opinion rather then refusing me to enter up my attic and correcting his mistakes before he had gone to far (all the while saying your gonna like it , it looks good) then he would have not had this problem. The second day I had a licensed tech tell me if this guy didn?t do it correctly or didn?t finish it he would do it for no more then $800 depending on how much he had to do. I told Mr. Morris that. On the day he demanded to be paid He had the nerve to tell me he wished he had never taken this job, and I told/reminded him I wished you would have told me that on day 2. You could have kept the $600 and I could have paid the licensed tech $800 and come out way cheaper then the 1950.00 you were charging me. So he had his out and could have stopped at any time. Like I cared at this point that he wished he had not had taken the job.
Description of Work: Services that were contracted to be performed were to take out and remove from property our 30 year old attic Air Conditioner Coil and Gas Furnace, and install a brand new in box, 95% Goodman energy efficient Coil and Furnace, while ensuring that it would meet all the criteria to pass Code inspection. My wife had arranged for a licensed HVAC person to inspect the work and contact code enforcement to make sure we were legally compliant. Also he was to fix the vent on our water heater and bring it to code and change a metal coupling that had been installed incorrectly. Moreover, there were a few Maybe code or not code items he was to do on the installation of the furnace that we specified as wanting (ie. Using a special concentric venting kit that I supplied to make sure the furnaces blower inlet venting would both expel the deadly CO gases and bring into the furnace fresh outside air (this ensures the life of the unit and circulates fresh air verses stale nasty, dusty attic air). Again that may not be a code thing since the attic is about 300 sq. ft. but every other person I talked with (about 8 different persons) said I needed it, and for good reasons explained below. He I am sure did not use a manometer and measure the pressure of any gasses either. The contract was for a fixed price to include everything with a few exceptions, for which we had already purchased the equipment per the manufacturer's suggestion. In addition, Mr. Morris mentioned that there may be a few items here or there (i.e. a piece of PVC, or other pipe) that shouldn't be more than $10 if at all, and we would be informed prior to any purchases not included in a typical new coil and furnace installation. Ie. Copper piping and Covering ,new pvc, Basically tools of the trade that most any licenced tech would already have. Also, since I purchased the units from Johnstone a shop that only allows Technitions to purchase items (they get items for less than half price, so they can charge you as much as they want when they buy it. My furnance would have cost me over 3500.00 but I only paid $1250.00 the $ 900 coil I paid $368.00 for. This is import information for later. He stated the job shouldn't take more than a weekend, but my wife, who had done more than her share of research, told him that would be great but expected that it would take closer to a week. Three weeks later,!!!! My wife will write the overall experience below.
